Vick at Baltimore (1 Viewer)

He's quite possibly the best LB in the past decade. Seems like it helps things significantly in the running game, which is what the Falcons will have to do well if they want to win. Vick needs to limit the bonehead mistakes and run the ball about 10 times for 80-100 yds today for them to win, IMO.

I would not like to rely on him @ QB for me vs Ravens. Regardless of Ray Ray's availability I think Vick struggles.

I'm starting him, although with trepidation, over Delhomme today. I think that Lewis missing the game is a boost to the entire Atlanta O, but have to wonder how much the injury to Crumpler is going to slow down the Atlanta passing attack.

I'm playing Vick with the hope of big rushing #'s today.

Match ups haven't really seemed to matter much in regards to Vick. The thing with Vick is, even when he struggles in real life football, he still puts up points in fantasy football.

it all comes down to his WR's

he makes 2 or 3 throws every week that SHOULD result in TD's

they DID in back to back weeks vs Pitt and Cincy because the WR's hung on. If they can hang on today too, Vick will be fine

I recall Ashley Lelie dropping the easiest touchdown last week v. the Brown.
As Loopdog said, it's been like that all year. :(The good thing is, for fantasy purposes, it doesn't matter with Vick. WR's dropping the ball left & right? No problem, Vick lays 70 to 100 yards rushing with the occasinal rushing TD. :D

this game reminds me of a game vs Denver a few years ago, when EVERYONE thought Vick was gonna implode against a stud Denver D. He went in and blew up. Hoping for the same today

i agree. i'm biased as a vick owner obviously, but i just have a good feeling about him rising to the occasion against the ravens today. ray-ray out helps a ton, too. i think he tops 100 rushing and while not a ton through the air (180-200 maybe, 1 TD, 1 INT) his rushing will make him a fantasy factor.

I've started Vick all season, but am starting Romo over him today. I wouldn't be surprised to see Vick blow up, though.

i know this isn't the place, but since there is a thread about it, would you go with him over rivers?
Struggling with this decision, too.
I have same as well- I'm going Vick. After a down last week, I'm hoping for a bounce up. With Rivers, he had the big week last week. Bronco-Charger matchup is one of two rivals where coaches have lots of tape and ideas on how to match up so I expect a tighter game. Ravens - Falcons are not as well known to each other and I expect more out of the game i.e. - much like the Steelers-Falcons game.

Looking at Vick's stats for the year, he is the safe play every week. You are all but guaranteed double-digit points. He rarely throws out a fantasy clunker, mainly due to his rushing yards.

Very true Nigel - I guess my down week comment stems from some greater expectations against Cleveland. He is always a safe play - at what point does Rivers join him? That is what I am struggling with this season, the emergence of Rivers in the last couple of weeks has been a blessing and curse for me.

Sorry, drew, my "safe play" rant wasn't really directed at anything you said. I agree that the Cleveland game was a downer. Not sure when Rivers is as safe a play. I think if he were playing against anyone but Denver, I'd be starting him with Vick's poor matchup.

Good discussion guys. My decision was between Vick and Leinart. Since I don't feel I need a huge game, I may stick with Vick.

i am in a must win situation. i have to decide between rivers and vick. i see vick getting around his low end average. 13-15 points. i can see denver bottling up tomlinson and forcing rivers to throw, which he has done amazingly well in those situations. anyone remember his coming out game vs. pitt when they bottled up tomlinson? i look for rivers to not explode, but put up around 250 and 2-3 tds. maybe a pick too. that's 17-23 points for me. it would take a big day from vick to do that.

what to do?

I think either way, the Raven's would use Adalius Thomas as the spy on Vick, not Ray. I think the bigger beneficiary from his absence would be Dunn.

I have the same Romo-Vick dilemna today. I was going start Romo using the logic that if ever there was a week to start Romo and sit Vick it's this one. But if you block out all the anti-vick stuff in the media and just look at his fantasy football numbers, it becomes hard to ever sit Michael. His bad weeks as an NFL QB are still good weeks as a fantasy QB. I got clever and sat Vick the week he exploded against Pittsburgh. I won't do it again.

13-15 points < 17-23 points
 Sounds like you've got it figured out. Go with your gut, man.
I switched my lineup 6 or 7 times, but am now sticking with Rivers. The kid impresses me, and the Chargers are on fire. LT will have a below average game which means Rivers will have to throw more. I really see a good preformance from him today. I still see Vick having a good game, but the turnovers will be the difference..... :wall: i'll be wrong, again....

I've been vascillating between him and Grossman all week. Something tells me Grossman will struggle more than Vick today and Grossman doesn't get any rushing yards to bail his owners out. I could be way wrong but I did draft Vick as my #1 QB and it's go time. :football: :banned:

rivers it is, vick is locked on reserve now. congrats to vick owners, expect a big day. all my QB decisions have resulted in 20 point differences the past few weeks.

the thing with Vick is no matter how bad he plays in real life, barring injury he is pretty much a virtual LOCK to put up double digit points every week. And if they could get Kenny Rogers to rub some special substances on his WR's hands, maybe he could put up mid 20's every week
