I'm particularly interested in the take of the long-standing Vick apologists on this board. Have they all scurried away to hide? Where's Keith Lewis these days?

It's hard to believe someone like Vick, someone they liked, did such terrible things. Even the indictment didn't say he was there when they happened. Until you see what really transpired and refuse to believe it I don't fault Vick fans.If there is a trial and the testimony proves what he did and they deny then i will fault them. Not yet. At this point he could just be the money man and not involved more. Doubtful but still possible. It is a conspiracy indictment. He is guilty of conspiracy even of if he wasn't there.

I don't believe this is factually correct. I'll have to look it up again, but I think part of the indictment characterizes his presence there during at least one of the executions.

And, if he cops a plea (which seems like his only play right now)?
It is a conspiracy indictment. He is guilty of conspiracy even of if he wasn't there.
The feds are ready to serve two more indictments. Conflicting reports here, but my understanding is that they will peg him with more active engagement in the torture and death of these dogs.No one should be defending this thug except his family and attorney at this point.

I'm never been a big fan of Mike Vick nor a person who's been a nay sayer about his abilities over the years. Personally I'm not interested at all in what Vick supporters have to say after this outcome.....it is what it is. If people chose to support Vick which is innocent until proven guilty then so be it. I actually like to believe in the good of people before I jump to a negative conclusion, although it's naive at times.I just hope whoever's involved gets what they deserve and I'm thankful that this home, compound, dogfighting arena was broken up because what was going on in there was inhumane.

Michael should have picked his boys more carefully. All 3 of them rolling on Vick to avoid or minimize prison time. This is unexcusable.

 I turned on Vick quite a while ago, long time ago if you go back and read my comments. Pretty much right as the indictments came down with the information about the executions of dogs. I don't think I count as a "long-standing" apologist. As a former Vick apologist I think he should take a plea deal, chances are they got the goods on him and lots of witnesses to tie him to the financing of the dogfighting enterprise.

My understanding is that the superceding indictment involves charges of racketeering...that is what I assume has Mike Vick worried.

What are you talking about bcr8f???

If he supplied the cash for the operation. Do you think he didn't know what the money was going for. Come on now!

This kid is an absolute scumbag and should be locked up and the key thrown away.

I love the fact that all his money can't buy his way out of this one.

Finally some justice in this world!!!!!!

First time I'm actually rooting for the US GOV!!!!

That would be my guess. You bring RICO into this, and Vick is looking at some serious time.

You've never rooted for the U.S. Government before? That's a strange position to take.

I was thinking the same thing. :help:

Actually the indictment had him attending two fights personally, if I remember correctly, and paying off/collecting on bets. It also had him ordering one dogs execution by cell phone. Anyway, if a plea means no racketeering charges, he'd better take it. I hope he takes time to think and get his head straight.

The only reason the first indictment was for only conspiracy is that the plea deals offered will be at the full charges of the conspiracy charges so that the testimpony of vick's co-conspirastors won't be tainted. If Vick does not plead guilty, the Feds will add additional and more serious charges incluidnjg racketeering and gambling. He will go away for a long, long time.

yeah he shoulda found "boys" who would've taken the rap (or not have been as stupid failing to hide all this) so he could continue to get away w/being a borderline human being. :goodposting: word up
No one should be defending this thug except his family and attorney at this point.
But you know they will. You could show them a video of Vick doing the executions/tortures and the Vickheads would still be there by the truckloads backing "their boy," guaranteed.

 I wouldn't exactly hold your breath. He'll end up w/a slap on the wrist. Course people will point out he lost millions in endorsements as being enough punishment. Pathetic and revolting doesn't begin to describe the entire thing.

What's inexcusable? That Vick should have picked better partners in crime or that his friends (and who's to say that they are real friends) are doing what is in their best interest? Whats your point?
