Vick named week 3 starter (1 Viewer)

Dammit - As a Redskin fan (i) I was hoping the Eagles would play Kolb and continue to suck... and (ii) wanted them to deal with the fact that they screwed up by letting McNabb go.

Watcing daily news live here and they said, while on skype with desean, that vick will be starting....desean had a smile on his face when the main guy kept asking how he felt ( desean was expecting kolb ). Desean said he just wants to win, he hates losing.

The question is why? Is it due to kolbs injury and he's not recovered or they want to give him more time? Or is it becAuse Vick has played great and deserves another start?

Some people on the Eagles message board are reporting that he's the starter for the entire year.

We'll know more at 6:30 but Kolb passed all his concussion tests. So unless something else happened, this is a decision based on performance expectations.

Sort of.They're not actually now seeing the same thing as the hawks, because we saw this a week ago, and as this finally comes into view for the rest, we're already looking at the next big thing happening.

Only thing I can think of is Kolb went into the training facility today with more concussion symptoms.

I wouldnt put too much trust in people posting on TATE. This is interesting though. Is it a medical reason? ( concussion ) that he isn't starting this week. Does this mean Kolb starts vs Washington....o boy

If they practiced today, it was probably pretty obvious who the better QB was on the field, and in the locker room.

Wouldn't stop Andy from still going with Kolb. Only thing that would change his mind is if Kolb still showed signs of the concussion.

Reid Names Vick Starting Quarterback

Head coach Andy Reid has named Michael Vick the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In his first start since 2006, Vick completed 21-of-34 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns (108.0 QB Rating) to lead the Eagles to a 35-32 win over the Detroit Lions. Vick also rushed seven times for 37 yards, but showed tremendous poise in the pocket as he kept his eyes downfield in an attempt to make plays with his arm first.

In the six quarters that Vick played after replacing the injured Kevin Kolb, Vick is 37-of-58 (64 percent) for 459 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Reid will be speaking with reporters shortly. We will have a special edition of Eagles Live! beginning at 6:15 PM.

I HIGHLY doubt that Reid will come out and say that Vick is the starter all year. It will be week to week and if he has a couple poor weeks Kolb would see the field again. This is all based on the premise that Vick wasn't named starter due to kolas injury status.
