I sent a PM to Mad Cow but may as well post here too since I want to buy today. Let me know if you see anything that I am overlooking.

Seems a shame to not have more of a gpu with the rest. Can you afford to go up a tier?

Really liking Borderlands 2. I remember the first one petering out after several hours, but this sequel is pretty, pretty good. I haven't even gotten to DLC yet. I like that it doesn't try to be a driving or puzzle game within a shooter game or what have you... Just gives you more of what is fun.

The Order: 1886 looks really cool. Much more original than Titanfall, which I don't get what all the fuss is about.

Titanfall isn't my kind of game either, but I don't think we've seen any gameplay from The Order whatsoever. I'm optimistic since it's Santa Monica, but still.

 
My girlfriend bought me a 3DS for Christmas. It's the Zelda sku, and it looks AWESOME.

The only bad part is that the Zelda game that comes with it is a download, not a cartridge. I normally wouldn't care about that, but the Nintendo store has been down ALL DAY. I've tried probably 20 times to get into it so I can download my game, and I keep getting an error message. My girlfriend knew that Zelda came with it, so she didn't get me any other games. Very frustrating to have a brand new system that I can't play because of server issues.

I'm not a PC gamer, but I imagine this is how you SimCity / Diablo 3 launch guys felt. I'm very annoyed.

 
Diablo 3 for the PS3 is an absolute blast. Pure joy of a hack n slash/rpg/loot game.

Awesome to play with 3 others people.

I really loved this game on the PS3! I platinumed it, but I fully intend to go back to it when the DLC comes out some times next year.

bought it for my 4.5 yr old. Didnt think there was any shot hed be able to play, just watch me. Low and behold the kid is a natural. I showed hIm how to play and what buttons to hit and he was basically playing on his own. Prettty amazing. That being said now i have to buy another controller so we can play together.
 
guys I can use a little advice. My wife bought me a sega genesis with tecmo super bowl but it looks like crap on my HDTV. Actually it doesnt look like crap it looks worse. What is the actual fix for this anyone have any tips? and CRT tv is not an option.

I would like to keep shooting people and being a degenerate in gta v but my son now has Infinity and Swap Force and the x box looks like some evil cyborg thing with all the wires and power bases coming out of it.

 
Has anyone played WWE 14? I have not touched a wrestling game in a very long time (Legends of Wrestling was my last foray in to this because it had old school guys) I saw WWE 14 had 30 years of wrestlemania mode and could not resist. The game is on the way.....I have seen and read great write ups on it and that Universe mode is also highly addicitng.

So what is the FFA take on this game. I am by no means an expert on the genere, and the last time I watched wresetleing I was 15 years old. But in a video game...it seems like a good time and my son may get a real kick out of it.

I think the fuss about TItanfall is mainly because it's Respawn's first game... the guys who were Infinity Ward and launched the COD series. I have a buddy there, so played with a lot of those guys. Not my kind of game on the surface, but I trust their ability to make a compelling game.

 
I have "three camps" into Tomb Raider. I don't know how i'm going to find everything. Pretty neat controls so far.

Did everybody else hit L2 the entire time looking for stuff?

The survival instinct thingy (Z on the PC) is highly useful but finding everything is a huge PITA.

I used L2 constantly. Once you get comfortable with what everything looks like, you will be able to find 95% of yhe items with out too much trouble. Some were so hidden though I would never have found them without an online guide.

Please note that early in the game you will not be able to get everything from each area. Some areas will require special weapons and gear you won't get until later in the game. At that point you can just fast travel back to any camp and find what you are missing.

You can just jump to Pac-Man Championship Edition. You won't miss any of the major story arc by skipping Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Jr Pac-Man, Baby Pac-Man, Pac-Land, Pac-Man 2 and all of the other Pac-related games. :)

2 Pac can fend for himself. And I don't even know if the afterlife has an arcade.

 
Diablo 3 is freaking crack. Serious fun. This is old school hack and slash at it's very best.

Bioshock is a freak fest. I am really enjoying Rapture and the entire enviroment. A really strong game and it still holds up well graphically. The atmosphere is top notch. I am only 20% in and already I am jonesing for some more powers, tonics and weapons.

I also am really enjoying NHL 13. I think it is the best in the series (did not play 14).

WWE 14 will be at my door Monday.....so anyone have this? Thoughts?

 
Fired up The Last of Us today for the first time. What a way to start the game. Signed up for Playstation Plus and proceeded to download about 10-15 games for my PS3 and my new Vita. Was able to get a Vita used for about 80 bucks after trade-ins. Tearaway is one of the most innovative games I have ever played. The perfect word to describe this game is just pure FUN.

I just started The Last Of Us last night. I agree, fantastic opening. Can't wait to get further into it.

bit monotonous and clunky BUT PURE FUNNNNN.

I am doing the wrestlemania history and it's a blast!!! Still not sure how the regular scheduled create a star thing works

 
Just picked up a ps3 tonight. Came with The Last of Us and a Batman game. Also grabbed Red Dead Redemption as a friend said that was his favorite game. Want to pick up the Lego Marvel one soon. What else are must have ps3 games?

Uncharted 1 and 2 are pretty fun and can be had for cheap now.

we tend to like similar games. Just as a heads up I loved Diablo but it is nothing like other games I have recommended to you.

The closest in genre to Diablo 3 that I have played is Borderlands.

If you can picture Borderlands in a smaller fantasy world setting, then that may be the best description of Diablo.

Loot, loot, loot, gear, gear, gear, and then a small amount of character building (but the gear tends to over weigh how you build the character from my time on the game).

Depending on your time frame for when you want to upgrade to the PS4, you might want to hold off on the purchase as Diablo 3 will be re-released on the PS4 as Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil, which will incorporate the new expansion of Reaper of Souls which adds what looks to be a ton to an already nice game.

I sold my Diablo 3 just last week and will probably rebuy once I upgrade to the PS4.

are you playing alone or with your kids? If with kids, you can't go wrong with the Ratchet and Clank games. Fantastic and funny stories, top notch graphics and solid game play (shooter, platformer and puzzles). Because they are older, you can get them for a very good price.

For more adult games, the first Bioshock is a must, along with Fallout3 and Skyrim.
