So far the best find I have made in Fallout has been Dogmeat. That dog is a killer. By the way they seem really serious about collecting this bounty on me. Is there someone I can kill or do I just get to keep turning mercs into cannon fodder?
Are you leaning evil or good?
Good. I have tried being evil in games and it's just not me.
I almost always choose good but I went evil in fallout Vegas and it was the most fun I've ever had with a Bethesda game.
I couldn't quite go bad in Vegas because those legion guys were just kinda #####, but I really liked that the other 3ish choices weren't straight "good", so there was some nuance in it. I think I've finished with 2 of the other options. It was just nice, because like NC, going evil just isn't me, and I like having some option besides, well, I'm not going evil, so I'm just "good".
And I want to be clear. I have been known to shoot a dude in the face for no reason other than they are a smarmy ****. I almost did that to Dave of the Republic of Dave last night. I was standing there pointing my combat shotgun right at his face from less than 3 feet away. Luckily for him I wasn't sure if I needed him later. If I knew I didn't he would have been finished just for being a complete doosh. But I generally won't kill people that don't have it coming and I am generally more willing to help than hurt an NPC.
Let us know when you do Tenpenny tower.
Already defused the bomb so I won't be blowing up Megaton. I also found out earlier that is why the Talon Mercs are after me. Apparently Mr Burke hires them if you defuse the bomb at any point in the game.
There's more
Cool well I will definitely report back when I do.

In regards to Fallout 3, I loved to listen to the radio. You hear updates on what is going on, what you did, and then the songs are downright awesome for the mood of the game.
I think I liked the radio better in New Vegas. It felt like an old western. But Fallout 3's music felt a lot like Bioshock's music, which was also great.

I really wish they'd make a game like Fallout 3 (not New Vegas) and set it in post apocalyptic New York. Really enjoyed wandering around recognizable DC with actual fallout. Loved the style, the music, the dark comedy, the scrounging, everything.

Yea. I bought Rage hoping for that sort of setting. They really didn't do as much with it as I had hoped.

Go back to a save before you save the town and blow it up. That's one of this generation biggest gaming scenes you have to see it.
I intend to do a second play through as I am getting a better idea of what you need too succeed. I'll be sure to try it next time through. I really want to do that whole part differently any way.

Not quite the same but didn't Crysis 2 take place in post alien invasion NY?

The rumor has been Fallout 4 will be set in Boston

Playing South Park the Stick of Truth atm, enjoying it more than I thought I would its really fun.

If you like South Park and turn based RPGs couldn't recommend it more.
:goodposting:

I get some tearing on the PC version, which is unfortunate. Very good game thus far for what I originally expected.
Really fun game, but it's pretty short and very easy. I'll probably start it over though and play another class besides Jew.

For anyone or their kids who are playing Lego Marvel, what character do you use for the flying races in the city? My daughter and I can not get the hang of it.
they are the suck. Not sure ill ever get the one that starts on the air ship and goes thru the city. I found galactus to fly the steadiest
I have tried every single flying character they have gotten so far and they all suck. The controls are very odd and weighted terribly. I have gotten a few of them but the one that starts on the helicarrier I think will never be completed.

I got an invite to Project Spark beta. Pretty interesting concept, it's a bit minecraft a bit of disney infinity. You can build a world free form, add in heros and actions they can do. Add in the "bad" guys and make an objective and you have a mini game that looks pretty damn good. Just started digging into it last night, so hopefully by Monday I will have more to add.

If anyone wants a beta invite (XB1 or Windows 8.1 only) PM me.

The reason I cant complete this one is because everytime I go under the bridge my character decides its a good time to land on the ground.

So I was playing around last night and ended up in Oasis. As those of you who have played know you are given 3 choices for Bob and Harold. Harold asks you to kill him. Then you have the priest who gives you some sap to limit Harold and Bob to Oasis so no one else will know. Your last choice is from the priests wife she gives you a potion that will make Harold replenish the wasteland as he has Oasis. Now apparently there is no wrong answer here, so you can do what you want as far as the game is concerned. But maybe there is a bad choice here. I was thinking about doing a poll and seeing if the FFA would weigh in on the philosophical underpinnings of that decision. We'll see. I still haven't decided but I am leaning toward killing the poor guy. Although the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. Decisions, decisions.

Hawks, your inbox is full. If you still have an invite for Xbox One I'd greatly appreciate it!

So should I wait for a price drop?

it is, but it's not really destroyed. there's just alien crud everywhere.

I don't buy games brand new anymore since I rarely play the ones I have now. But Fallout 4 will be a preorder for me.

That was one of the better ones. The "bad" karma is to kill him obviously. Limiting him to the garden is neutral or slightly bad. Cant remember. Healing the wastelands is the good karma. That's what I went with.

Same with me. It might even get me to upgrade to a PS4 if it only came out on the next gens.

My understanding was the only bad karma decision was to burn Harold/Bob down with the flame thrower. All other choices were neutral to good karma.

dead nation free was a pretty nice perk

That's what I meant by kill him. I just remember seeing the videos. I chose to save the wasteland.

Poor guy is afraid of fire. If your speech is high enough, I think it changes up the dialog options and you can convince Bob to go along with your choice or get some extra perk somehow. Wiki should say. There was also some good loot in the caverns below him.

Instead of shooting Dave at the Republic in the face you can do some fun things with calling for an "election" of a new ruler.

I'd like to go back and replay Vegas someday, at a certain point you have to make a choice that closes off later mission branches. I went totally goodie goodie and missed out on a lot of the Caesar related content. Plus I wanna blow up that Monorail! The Ghoul's at the rocket factory have pretty fun ending options too! That one I definitely saved and replayed to see what happens.

I was leaning toward giving him the rest he so craved. But if he could really revitalize the wasteland that seems selfish. If I could come back and put him out of his misery after a couple of "years" I'd feel better about going that way.

I didn't see anything about extra options but I'll check it out.

Yeah, I may not be remembering 100% correctly. It may have to with the girl outside just before you meet him. If you had Child at Heart perk I know the dialog options were different with her. One of the other citizens in Oasis has a secretive past and I think can get you a nice set of armor or a gun or something.

Ditto. And yeah Boston would be good too. Hopefully it has a wide open skyrim-like, bigger than DC, area to explore.

Last interview I saw made it sound like it was going to be awhile. Maybe 2015.

So got GNR done. Man were there a lot of Super Mutants. I am starting to draw super mutant masters and such. Dogmeat and I took out a Behemoth on our own later after the one we did with the Brotherhood in front of the station. Dog kept him busy I used a lot of ammo. It worked out. Dog is definitely my favorite follower ever at this point,

I was glad I had a save from after the fight in front of the station. I went up and tried the doors and they all started shooting at me. I didn't see the speaker, oopsy!

Finished Max Payne 3 this weekend. I enjoyed it. As I mentioned earlier, the extended and frequent cut scenes didn't bother me because they were well done. Conversely, I started Of Orcs and Men which also does this and it annoys the hell out of me - bad voice acting and uninteresting cut scenes. The combat system "borrows" from KOTOR/Dragon Age and the like but doesn't do it as well. I'm not giving up yet, but I'm not sure how far I'll go in this one.

Dragon Age 2 - after completing a rather rushed play through of Origins I am moving on to DA2.

It definitely passes the eyeball test then again I expect it to look better than DAO simply because it's a newer game.

I like the combat mechanics better than DAO, probably because I am more familiar with them from DAO. Also I don't agree, at least not yet, that combat is more simplified than DAO. You still have every bit as much tactical control over your party you just don't need it as much because the AI does a better job controlling them. They also got rid of the overhead view, which I think is a good thing.

I think I am going to like DA2 more than DAO.

I'm almost done (Act 3) with DA2. I loved DAO, and am only lukewarm on DA2. none of the characters are really too likeable except Varric. and once you've logged enough hours in the game, the reused environments will most likely drive you nuts.

I could have liked the game but... (Plus the plot was lacking)

So I ordered the black armor edition of dark souls II from Amazon. Problem is it won't arrive until Thursday .

Any advice on how I could buy it today so I can play and somehow not end up buying the game twice?

30 minutes to Titanfall
Is there an official Titanfall thread? I couldn't find one.

Also, who in here is getting it for Xbox One vs Xbox 360? I'm leaning Xbox One, but want to see where most of my GB's in here are gonna be at.
I've got it on the Xbox One. If you're thinking 360, I'd be sure to check out videos and reviews before buying that one. Simply due to the fact that it's being ported by another developer (Bluepoint I believe) and has nothing to do with Respawn. Also, it's on the 360 so I suspect performance will be a problem. I can see a really stripped down version on that console.

Hey guys. Been out of the loop for a bit, but just picked up an Xbox One along with FIFA and Titanfall. Would love to join in any of the FBG games.

Also always up for firing up the 360 for some Borderlands as well.

Thanks for that info. If this is true, then you've already pretty much sold me on the Xbone version. Feel free to add me if you want someone to party up with :hifive:

Do you guys that have the xbox one is region free? I have found different bits of information that conflict. Aparently(not sure since I don't have one) the digital games on it a region locked but the physical media is not? Just wondering about this because I will be moving to a new region soon and don't want to buy an xbox one and then be sol.

It's region free for physical for sure. Many people in Europe and other places routinely change their region to the US since the digital games are much cheaper. I know of no official stance from Microsoft on this, so do it at your own risk. I did find one somewhat recent article that some say they're having issues running digital games purchased from other regions: http://www.lazygamer.net/general-news/has-microsoft-implemented-digital-xbox-one-region-locking/

one other note on DA2... be very careful in your responses to Anders unless you want him to suddenly try to stick his tongue down your throat.
