DA is more of a story-based game. It has a little open world to it, but nothing like the Skyrim sandbox
one of the reviews I read said this game was bigger in area than Skyrim's world. I don't know if it is true but every review mentions the game being massive if you want to explore off story line.
It could be bigger overall, but Skyrim was one giant area that you could go anywhere, anytime, and do whatever you wanted. For example, in Skyrim, you could sink hours and hours into just collecting soul gems and enchanting things, and really enjoy it. I don't think you can do quite that level of "off the beaten path" with this game. I don't know that for certain, because I'm not that far into it. But I do know you couldn't at all in the first two, and while this one seems more freeform, it's still not giving me quite that massive "anything is possible" feeling of Skyrim. Again, I'm not that far into it because I've started over a few times (I played the first few missions with multiple characters)
But it does seem gigantic, and far more open than the last two. Been fun so far.
I'll post all other DA stuff in that thread. Just wanted to respond to your comment.
