Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

In line picking up my preorder of DA:I right now, extremely excited. Ready to get lost in a game in a way I haven't experienced since Skyrim released. I'm geeking out!
I've put off buying a PS4 until now, but DA is the game that will force me to buy one. I'm hoping to wait a few months until they iron out the bugs. I'd love to wait until there's an "ultimate" version with all the DLC, but I don't think that will be possible.
If you can wait a few more weeks, they're releasing a bundle with The Last of Us Remastered and GTA5 for $399. Those are arguably the two best games available for the system right now (a little sad to say but still).
Whoa. :blackdot:
I've heard Target (I think, could be Walmart) is going to sell this bundle plus two games of your choice for $450.
Anyone who sees a good deal, please post it! I am definitely buying a ps4 this holiday season and can't wait :)

DA is more of a story-based game. It has a little open world to it, but nothing like the Skyrim sandbox
one of the reviews I read said this game was bigger in area than Skyrim's world. I don't know if it is true but every review mentions the game being massive if you want to explore off story line.
It could be bigger overall, but Skyrim was one giant area that you could go anywhere, anytime, and do whatever you wanted. For example, in Skyrim, you could sink hours and hours into just collecting soul gems and enchanting things, and really enjoy it. I don't think you can do quite that level of "off the beaten path" with this game. I don't know that for certain, because I'm not that far into it. But I do know you couldn't at all in the first two, and while this one seems more freeform, it's still not giving me quite that massive "anything is possible" feeling of Skyrim. Again, I'm not that far into it because I've started over a few times (I played the first few missions with multiple characters)

But it does seem gigantic, and far more open than the last two. Been fun so far.

I'll post all other DA stuff in that thread. Just wanted to respond to your comment.
My wife told my that one of the maps near Redguard or Redcliff (I don't remember the name, been a long time since DA1) took her an hour and a half to explore fully. Also, in that area there was a dungeon that she couldn't figure out how to get to.

Are there any limits to the two games you can choose (like is there a select list to choose from)?

If not, this is a fantastic deal.

I could get my PS4, Diablo Reaper of Souls, Last of Us and Dragon Age 3? I have no interest in GTA but I can still sell it.

I agree on Last of US and GTA being musts but I just went on to Walmart to look at a similar deal and the extra/additional choices were limited to 13 games (of which Dragon Age 3 was one of the choices but Diablo was not).

Still a fantastic deal, I am sure I can find some other game I like.

For those of you interested in getting Diablo 3 in one of the package deals, I know that at least Best Buy will have the game discounted to $30 as part of its Black Friday/post-Thanksgiving sale. Tomb Raider is down to $20 and NBA 2k15 and Madden both at $30. Here is the complete list:

http://blackfriday.bestbuy.com/?category=doorbusters2&filter=&sub_cat=PlayStation%204,Xbox%20One&cat=Video%20Games
They doing these online, as well? Some good deals in there (Shadow of Mordor, in particular).

Oh man. Disney Infinity 2.0 start pack for $30. That might end up being my 3.5 year old's Hanukkah gift.

If I can get AC and Diablo to go with this, that may get me to buy the PS4 already was planning to wait quite a while until games got cheaper, but for $25 per game, I'm happy with that price.

If anyone hears any more concrete info on this deal, please post.

AC was definitely in the list of games you could choose from that I saw from a similar Walmart deal. Diablo was not.

We might just have to wait until this exact listing appears online before knowing for sure what the exact choices are.

It is funny that 3 of the 4 games I'm excited about on PS4 were made for PS3...

Would be interested in DA:I or FC3, but I think i'll be PC for both of those.

oh, and Shadow of Mordor would be another good option.

I'd probably go with Destiny and DA:I as my two extra games, but would have preferred Diablo over DA:I if it was offered.

interesting that it doesn't say "Last of Us Remastered", like it does elsewhere in the ad. wonder if this bundle only includes the original version of the game.

I think Last of US remastered is the PS4 version. The original version was just for the PS3 if memory serves.

It doesn't look like they're doing digital sales. But, ya, those are killer deals all around. Thanks for pointing out Shadow of Mordor as well.

On a completely separate note, I haven't heard anyone in hear mention Far Cry 4. I loved FC3, and am pretty excited for 4. Anyone playing yet?
Played a short time last night. Didn't get very far but I'm under the impression thus far that the storyline for the main character is going to be underdeveloped. On 3 Jason Brody seemed like a real person and I could feel the intensity of his need to rescue his annoying friends. This new guy seems almost... nonexistent? I'm a little worried about that, but could be wrong.

Graphics are beautiful. Combat seems to be a little tougher, as the AI was spotting me right and left. Seemed like the bad guys are way more aware than on 3. Looking forward to getting some weapons, building my skills, and exploring.

When did this happen? All I remember was doing 3 things OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER:

1) Climb to top of increasingly annoying towers using platforming elements that have no place in a FPS.

2) Clearing out enemy encampments.

3) Repeating steps 1 & 2 OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Instead of just running around like a dingus killing stuff, I advanced the plot in Shadow of Mordor last night by defeating the Black Captain. Easier than I expected it to be but I guess my character is pretty powered up from hours of Uruk slaughtering.

Should be a fun night with a new smorgasbord of Captains and War Chiefs to kill. I'd like to start DA:I tomorrow night but this game kinda has me hooked.

I guess we had different experiences with 3. Admittedly, the story scenes did happen in between climbing radio towers and clearing out encampments over and over, as you said. But I thought it was super fun. Every game, in my experience, is doing something over and over again. I guess it just matters whether you enjoy that repetitious activity within each game. To each his own.

Interesting that this Walmart deal does not match the seemingly too good deal listed earlier in thread. I hope this one is just a typo (specifically the second Walmart listing for PS4)
I think it's the same thing. It lists the PS4 bundle, (which I think is the $399 w/ Last Of Us and GTA) along with two games for $449. Just system and two games at that price doesn't seem like much of a deal at all. So I'm pretty sure what we have been talking about was accurate.

exactly. I hate fps but far cry 3 was the best one i ever played. So much fun

I am 70% done with Far Cry 3 and I love it. Probably my all time favorite FPS....by a mile. I loved Borderlands 1 but this game for me has it all.

Far Cry 4 will be in my hands Christmas day and I can't wait to dive into that....along with Dragon Age 3....my god I will be busy with those 2 games for a long long time.

I'm a little surprised that there are no nice discounts to the new games out like there have been in years past. Not a single retailer selling the new COD or AC for the typical $40 on BF.

I'm also disappointed that nobody is offering a sweet deal on the PS Plus membership. Got mine for $30 last year. Was hoping someone would have it again. Maybe someone will run that for Cyber Monday.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday getting a new set of tires for my son's car, and The Evil Within was on sale for $30, so I went ahead and picked it up at that price. I've only cleared the first two chapters, but so far so good. Those two chapters took me 1:45 but I'm sure I could get through them in 20-30 minutes if I had to do it over again now that I kind of know what I'm doing.

Also hoping to grab Mordor and maybe Wolfenstein if Amazon has anything that comes close to the Best Buy BF deals. Not worth making a trip to Best Buy just for these.

KMart has all those for $25 each but it's store pickup only.
