Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (5 Viewers)

This is where buying digital works best. I buy all my games on my gamertag. I set my sons XBox as my home XBox so all my games are available to anyone who plays on my XBox (my son) and available to me on any Xbox I log into.
OK, so we are thinking about buying a second Xbox for our house.  On our current Xbox, I have my ID (which is the main ID) and my boys have their own IDs as sub accounts.  If I buy one digital copy of a game, I can install it on both Xboxes and play with any ID on either account, as long as the game isn't being played on both Xboxes at the same time?

Playing the Talos Principal. It’s a pretty great little game so far... it’s not quite on the level of the Portal games, but its pretty interesting.

"Finished" Mass Effect Andromeda.  I think.  Says I'm only 48% completed, but I'm done with all the major quests (and the big one to end it all).  I was pretty anal and had done all the side assignments, too.  I did see more new planets pop-up, but wth is the 52% of content that I haven't done?  Sure hope its not mindless tasks.....

My 13 yo is playing it and just does the big assignments.  Wonder if he finished +/- 30% completion.

Kids got Battlefront Star Wars II (they like it so far), Lego Avengers II (looks very cool), Uncharted Lost Legacy, Dishonored Death of Outsider, and the Castelvania twin pack (for me).  Should I play New Order or Old Blood first?
With Wolfenstein play New Order First. Then Old Blood.

Then the new one (The New Colossal) which is IMO the best of the three.

Outstanding series and IMO the best solo offline FPS made (next to Far Cry 3, 4 and Primal).

I have been playing the crap out of The Witcher 3 and Ghost Recon Wildlands (in addition to my usual sports game routine with MLB The Show 17 Madden 16/18 and NBA 2K18).

Once I finish The Witcher 3 and Wildlands I will be on to Evil Within 2 and Mordor Shadows of War. I have a #### ton of games to get through. I am seriously only going to make 2 purchases in 2018.

MLB The Show 18 and Far Cry 5. That is it. I have a massive backlog.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Dishonored 2

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

L.A Noir Remastered

Bioshock Collection

Mordor Shadows of War

Uncharted Lost Legacy

Sudden Strike 4

Telltales Batman Season 1

Telltales The Walking Dead Season 3

Telltales Tales From The Borderlands

Telltales The Wolf Among Us

Bloodborne

Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag

Valkyrie Chronicles Remastered

Metal Gear V The Phantom Pain

Insane. But I will be kept busy for all of 2018.

You can play on both as long as you are both logged in with different gamertag. I play Destiny with my son all the time.

I forgot to log into to Ghost Recon - did anyone try the Predator expansion?

I love this game but having trouble getting into online

Just picked this up for my 17 yr old son and me during the Steam Holiday Sale.  So far a lot of fun to run around and jack drug dealers.

And you only bought it once?  This is a game changer if true.
Yes. Buy on main gamertag. Set second Xbox as your home XBox. Play on both. There are some limitations. My son can't play with his gamertag on my real my upstairs Xbox though.

At my house. Upstairs Xbox is mine. Downstairs Xbox is his. I set the downstairs one as my home XBox. This gives everyone that plays on it access to my library. I log into upstairs (or any other XBox) and have full access to my library. He can't access my library on the upstairs Xbox on his gamertag because the games aren't attached to his tag and it's not my home XBox.

Serious question. Why buy so many game with so many already waiting, sales or something? I usually buy one or two and play those before I even think about another one. But I realize people use like Steam and stuff and load up during sales.

Got F1 for Christmas.  Pretty cool racing game.  It's got a great demo and it converted the demo to the actual game with the code.  I hate when other games make the demo and actual game different downloads.

OK, this is confusing and will have you explain it to me again like I'm Shuke once I get this done, but this sounds good to me.

Despite telling myself I would skip it again this year I bought Madden a couple of days ago during the countdown sale for $24.

Why are you asking, would you like to catch a beat down from one of your FBG brethren?
Let’s do this!! I’m off all week. Which night would you like to have your beat down?

I have been playing this game for at least 100 hours but mostly concentrating on  :pickle:  my crew, only luck so far is with the nasty little asari but I have to be getting close with a couple of the others?!?!?  I have enjoyed the game but I do feel it's maybe a little too big with fetch quests spanning multiple galaxies and gigantic open worlds and not enough boobies.  Driving around in the car is sort of fun but my wife is getting sick of the engine sounds I can tell.

Got Start Wars "Jedi Challenges" for xmas and came into this thread to see if anyone else had feedback.
Alsod did a search and not one mention of the phrase "Jedi Challenge" in the entire FFA?

they really PG'd out the :pickle: in this game, we used to at least get some blue alien side boob, now just a black screen...

I just finished it yesterday at 101 hours. Can't find my % complete, but I finished all tasks but two, one seemed to mess up my relationship status with science officer hottie red head, and the other went against my general morals :).

Actually thought it was a pretty good game overall. Just too bad EA needs to be publically blasted before they fix/finish their games.

Lots of room for a sequel that may never happen, a couple interesting loose ends to tie up.

I load up on these games when they go on sale for $25 or less. So I end up getting all these great games for 10, 15 and 20 bucks for the most part. The only games I bought on release in 2017 and 20% off were:

MLB The Show 17 ($47)

Madden 18 ($47)

Horizon Zero Dawn ($47)

NBA 2K18 ($47)

Every other game I have was bought under $25 or less. But yeah I have a slight video gaming sickness.

Peebe was a black screen, but Cora shows the goods

Sent you a friend request.  Shows you as offline as of right now.
Currently at the hospital with the MIL. She's fighting stupid cancer. I'll likely be around a little later after visiting hours end.

So ground rules? No going for it on 4th and more than 3 or so unless down by 17 or it's the fourth quarter? That's how I'll be playing.

Ill accept your friend request later and if you're on we can play or we'll catch up later.

Sounds good, I will be on/off all night probably.  Sorry to hear about MIL.

The only other time I'll go for it on 4th is if I'm inside the 50 and don't think punting will get me much better field position.  So like 4th down from like the 45, I'll be going for it possibly.  But yeah, other than that, I play pretty normal.  I'm trying to win and going for it on 4th down all game isn't a winning strategy.

Sounds like we're on the same page. Looking forward to it.

Anybody have a recommendation on a good durable PS4 controller without breaking the bank?  I wear the crap out of my analog sticks and I seem to go through a controller every 6 months. Is there one where they analog sticks can be replaced?

Yes. Buy on main gamertag. Set second Xbox as your home XBox. Play on both. There are some limitations. My son can't play with his gamertag on my real my upstairs Xbox though.

OK, so the kids just bought a second Xbox.  I want to make sure I do this right so I don't lose the ability to play all my games on both Xbox's.  Both boys have sub accounts set up on the original Xbox under my Xbox Live Gold main profile.  On the new Xbox, should I set that as the home Xbox for the Gold profile, so all the games will download there, and the sub profiles stay on the original Xbox?  Can it be the other way around, or does it have to go this way?

Whichever one you make as your home XBox  - everyone will be able to play your games and they will auto download there if you have that setting on.  Only you will be able to play on the other and you will manually have to download the games.

This is what I mean by setting your home XBox. Full text of article is in spoiler.

How to designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox

The first time you sign in on an Xbox One and save your password, that console becomes your home Xbox. The My home Xbox setting allows you to do the following:

Share games and downloadable content purchased from Microsoft Store with anyone else who signs in on your console. You can even share games downloaded as part of a subscription.

Share your Xbox Live Gold subscription with anyone else who signs in on your console.

You can also play downloaded games while traveling, or, in the event of a network or service outage, on your home Xbox. You'll need to ensure that your console is set as your home Xbox before you go offline. To learn more, see Using Xbox One offline.

If you have more than one Xbox One console, or if you sign in on multiple consoles, we recommend you designate the most frequently used console as your home Xbox.

Note You cannot designate more than one Xbox as your home Xbox. You can share purchased games and Gold with other users only on your home Xbox.

Designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox

Note You can designate only one console as your home Xbox.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

Review the information, and then do one of the following:

Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

Select This is not my home Xbox to remove the designation.

Some of it is trivial stuff but it sounds like you missed some decent content if you're only at 48%. I ended up at 98% complete but that was at about 110 hrs.

They have almost full frontal for some of the scenes this time.

Also, the red headed Scottish chick; unless you're Sara, you're barking up the wrong tree. Found that out about 20 hrs in. I was genuinely pissed about it.

I miss college sports video games, particularly football.  I am disappointed the powers that be can't find a way for everyone to make some money, and instead chose to take their ball and go home.

Scholarships aren’t even guaranteed. It will be a long, long time before they figure out how to compansate players for their likeness in a video game. Or they will do something shady.

You can replace the sticks on the default controller.  Just be careful of the trigger buttons.  Also get a battery and replace that while you have it open.

anyone else have a PS4 controller just go bonkers?

My buttons don't work half the time, doesn't get recognized, the stick doesn't work.

I reset it and it worked for a bit then went crazy. Tried my other controller and it appears to be working ok

Thanks for the details.  I don't know if it is a glitch, or if something is going to happen soon, but I was able to get all of our IDs signed in to both xboxes, and able to play all games on both Xbox's.   I'll take it as long as it is working like that.

Just wanted to add, I don't know why my wife endorsed the idea, but I finally improved my game room.  Bought three leather recliners, and a second 40" in TV.  Have an Xbox on both TVs, PS4 on one of them, and DirecTV on the other.  I was playing a game last night with one son on one TV, and had the college football playoffs on the other.  Good times.

It’s definitely tougher. I’ve been rolling rough blind, but now I’m on World 3 and having a tough time. I’ve completed all of World 1 and most of world 2, but everything is taking me awhile now.

The one thing I'm still not clear on with all of this (and the previous posts) is are you playing a game at the same time?

In other words, one purchased copy, two people on two different consoles playing the same game together.

Honestly haven't tried that yet.  Will try this week and see what happens.

I know when I had an ID signed in on one Xbox, and someone tried to sign in on the other Xbox, it just kicked them off the first box.  Will see what happens with the games.  Obviously it would be nice to play some co-op games on separate screens (ie, COD) instead of split screen when we want to play together.

Anyone here play GTA Online?  Had the game GTA V from launch on my PS3, barely did online stuff because by the time it came out I was playing other games.  I got GTA V recently for PS4 and was considering playing some online, but I hear its a money sink (I will not succumb to micro transactions).

I also recently got NBA2K18.  My first basketball game since the last NCAA BBall back on PS2.  I'm having fun so far with MyCareer, but I've read a ton of complaints, mostly about micro transactions.

You can do that with digital games. I purchased one copy of Destiny and my son and I fireteam up and play from two different Xboxes.

You can. My friend and I do the sharing. We played Gears 4 and other multiplayer games together all the time. No issues.
