Any advice on where I can find a game console that has Madden football and can deliver by next Tuesday? I’ve found one PS4 on Amazon, with the 5  now out am I lighting money on fire as 4 games will be discontinued? Any other opportunities you guys recommend

Ive been out of the game a decade or so, thanks guys.
You might have better luck finding a used system, GameStop probably has a lot of trade in’s.

Usually the prices and packages of the older consoles come down when a new console comes out making them decent value. But both companies have basically stopped production on most of the older models to focus on meeting demand for the new ones.

I wouldn't do delivery unless you get desperate because a lot of mail has been lost especially gaming systems lately. I would check a Gamestore like Gamestop. Try and see if there is other used game stores around but they are kind of sketchy at times. Best bet is to go to GameStop go to the desk and tell them exactly what you want. They'll either have it at that store or they can call other stores in the area and see if they can hold it for ya. Are you looking for the packaged deal? If so that'll be hard to come by. My suggestion is just get a PS4 that probably refurbished or new and buy either this years madden or last years. Last years Madden should cost you no more then $8 with tax as this years gonna cost depending on that.

If you want Digital if you got a PSN account just sign into that online. Then go to the PS Store search madden pick the one you want. To play online you need to buy the PS+ pass for online use but PS+ comes with 3 games a month you can download (Picked randomly and usually older sometimes newer) and you get discounts on purchasing games online if available like certain % off. If you don't have an account it's real easy to make but if you have an old PSN account and can't remember the email you put it on then I suggest making a new one unless you remember your SN you used back then.

Saw that Sony stopped production on a lot of PS4 systems to help with supply and demand of the PS5. It's a good move and probably something Companies should've been doing for yrs to get everyone to buy the new systems however. But we know this is more of a product of the pandemic and safety reasons they haven't been able to keep up than that.

My new PC arrived a couple of days ago.  I have to laugh that not only did it ship in a box that clearly indicated that it contained a computer, but the shipping label on the outside of the box even helpfully provided many of my system's specs so that would-be thieves would know if it was worth stealing or not. :lmao:   Good thing I live in a low-crime area.

Anyway, so far so good.  Everything fired up exactly like it was supposed to with no tinkering of any kind needed.  I'm kind of surprised at just how intrusive the RGB lights are -- I was sort of envisioning a steady light of some kind, but instead every pre-programmed setting involves lights that breathe or switch colors or do something else that distracts from the game I'm trying to play.  I ended up turning off most of them, except for a fan connected directly to the motherboard in the interior of the system that I can't figure out how to program.  That one's not so annoying though since it's inside the case and I think I'll probably just keep it as-is anyway.

I started with Disco Elysium.  Only about two hours in, but this is exactly the kind of game that feels really immersive with a mouse and keyboard but would be a real chore to play with a console controller.  I also messed around a bit with Darkest Dungeon, which is another one that is a lot more fun and a lot less clunky on PC.  Funnily enough, I've now had two different IRL-acquaintances warn me not to buy Cyberpunk yet.  Even people who know me only tangentially know what sort of games are right up my alley.

If you like these types of games, there is no need to wait.  PC has the least buggy version, although there are plenty.  The more you play the less you notice them (I have 90 hours in)

Finished up Doom 2016. Good game, great action. Look forward to Eternal at some point down the line.

Fun side note: Fall Guys is dropping a Doom themed skin pack on Tuesday  :lmao:   :lmao:

Early frontrunner for most unexpected collabs of 2021

Uh oh. Did they warn you from their first hand experience, or from reviews?
Both of them are first-hand.  "Great game, but very buggy.  Hold off on this one."  That matches up with everything I've heard from other sources.
There's a good game in there somewhere. But if you read my other posts, you get the bad - buggy, terrible (and I mean terrible) AI, some really clunky systems, long conversations and cut scenes that are a chore to get through. Then you do one of those "dream state" missions (that I still have no idea why games include them because they're never fun), but Cyberpunk ramps it up because you slog through it and think it's over, and the game is like "ok, let's do another one right now" and you can't back out... I felt like I did when I was 13 and on the Octopus ride at the amusement park. I got super sick and couldn't wait to get off. Then they let everyone off one car at a time, and forget me - had to ride a second time, and as it's unfolding and it becomes clear they forgot me, I'm like NOOOOOOOOO...

I'm shocked that these are the same people that made Witcher 3. I paid $60, and it's worth half that at best. Like I said, there is a good game somewhere in here, but there's so much garbage around it that I have a hard time really recommending it.

Just played Cyberpunk pretty much all weekend. It has a lot of the elements that I really loved in the first Watchdogs: non-lethal takedowns, hacking, camera jumping, etc. There were certainly some convos I enjoyed but I could tell I'd skip through during future playthroughs. The default is first-person on foot and third person while driving which is how I normally play/drive. I play fallout and Elder Scrolls so the large open world, free-roam exploration is my jam. I also enjoy crafting and upgrading  - you do get a ton of found/looted weapons so I get the criticism that crafting isn't necessary, but even a found weapon can be upgraded.

Just processed the return and full refund for Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4 Pro). Game is simply not up to standards as a 2020 release. This looks like a game that is 5 years behind on the PS4 Pro console. I know on PC it is a great looking game.

But I am also not a huge fan of the game itself. It was cumbersome with inventory menus, clunky combat, crappy as hell driving. Huge let down for me. I much prefer Deus Ex games over this. Far more polished.

On the other hand I just started Ghost of Tshushima and I am simply floored at how amazing and beautiful the game is.

Epic, Breathtaking, Incredible Controls, Amazing combat. Amazing depth. Unreal story’s/missions and characters.

This very well be my game of the PS4 Generation. I am going to 100% this one. No doubt.

Ghosts is one of my favorites of all time. First game I got 100% on trophies. Not sure I 100% the game but did trophies

I also returned Cyberpunk within a few days of release and picked up Ghost.

Still loving Ghost, it seems to be a long game.

Jedi Fallen Order was a fun, quick palate cleanser for me after 100 hours in an AC game. Hope they make some more games in that series. I booted up Star Wars Squadrons next, which I’m really liking so far; just wish I was playing on PC with a joystick, as it feels like there’s a lot going on with the controls on a console.

It is long. And every minute has been pure joy.

It is simply breathtaking. I am so into it. It helps to love samurai movies and that kind stuff. Just an epic adventure. And The island of Tsushima is pure magic and beauty. Just an enormous achievement in terms of scale and setting. Everything was given love and detail.

I am about 15-18 hours in.....it pretty much may be my all time favorite non sports game ever.

man, it has been a long while since a game like TLOU made me cry. Maybe it’s because we’re in a pandemic right now. Anywho, I really enjoyed the arc story between Joel and Ellie. I found myself thinking about what if they did the operation and there was no cure?  There were recordings that they had operated on 17 other immune folks, but none worked.  I also liked how part 1 symbolized the good in humanity through Ellie in part 1 but slowly she lost her innocence in part 2.

I know people were mad about Joel’s death because he was a popular character but I think it was justifiable. Especially knowing he killed Abbys father.  There wasn’t a clear cut protagonist or antagonist as we got to the beach scene too. I’m just hoping for a redemption story in part3, where Ellie reunites with JJ and Dina.

My brother in law is playing it on the PC with a joystick and loves it.

I thought squadrons was kinda lame and boring......idk might just be me

Beat sleeping dogs.  Fun game

Playing death stranding for the first time.  Forgot how long cut scenes are in a Kojima game.    What a strange game.    Very unique and its starting to grab me though

Microsoft is still doing the GamePass Ultimate for $1 thing for new subscribers, and upgrading - for free - all the time you have left on a live Gold sub, up to 3 years. It's an amazingly good deal if you want to give Gamepass a try.

I had some Amazon gift card $ from xmas, so I bought 2 12-month xbox live gold gift cards, and redeemed them (and turned on auto-renew for another free month each). Had 4 or 5 months remaining on my current gold. That put me out until summer 2023. Then I bought Gamepass at the $1 for one month special (and they give you another two months free). The entire live gold sub was upgraded - besides the money spent for the 24 mo of live gold (which I would have bought anyway), I paid $1, and now have Gamepass Ultimate until 10/2023. Wow.

(Note - this does not work the other way around. It only works if you don't have gamepass. if you add an xbox live sub to an existing gamepass, it prorates/converts it.)

Ghost of Tsushima get’s better and better. I am now 28 hours in and playing Act 2 (of 3). Just a joy.

GOTY for 2020 (TLOU2 was my pick until I played this).

Once I am done with Ghost we are finally firing up PS4’s Spiderman.

I'm gonna try that ghosts game soon.   Forgot about that and need something on ps4
It is probably my all time favorite PS4 game hands down. An epic story, amazing visually, controls are smooth as butter. The fighting system is seamless and diverse. So many ways to reign terror and carnage in Fedual Japan.

A masterpiece.

when you finish if you ever want to complete the co-op hit me up - i never tried it :)

Death stranding is terrible.   One of the most boring games i have ever seen.  Terrible controls as well.  Glad I got it at a deep discount

All I heard was negative on this title. Safe to say it was a total flop.

I was in the minority early on saying it looks like the worst game ive ever seen but I just checked and it actually has some pretty good ratings.

FWIW, I only liked the first NES metal gear and the PS1 version and I thought all the others were incredibly terrible so I might not be the guy to ask.

it was so bad.  I played the first 4 or 5 hours doing incredibly boring missions walking and delivering stuff to different locations.  felt like i worked for ups or something.  no action at all.  I kept playing hoping that when the action did happen it would be worth it.

It was not.

the controls and inventory system were clunky and stupid.  one of the worst games I have seen in modern times.

Is this game on PC (don't have a console).

So I need to buy a subscription to play madden online?

I just got a PS4 and picked up Madden 21 so that I can play against my brother (we live in different states). This the 1st Madden I have purchased since Madden 15. I prefer the college game.

I also picked up rainbow six siege – I suck but the game is fun

5 years late as usual, but really liked Far Cry 4. Had just grabbed for $15 at GameStop. First FPS game I’ve played since the Bioshock series so took some time to get into but really fun overall.

I couldn’t finish GTA5. Just felt old and got repetitive for me.
I'm going to check it out at some point this year.  I liked 5, but felt it wasn't over the top awesome.  People seem to really like 3 and 4.

I watched the gameplay when it first came out. I was dozing off. I just have never been into the real japanese stylized/themed games like that. And Kojima is way out there anyway. Never liked any of his games. He's said it himself before, Americans (largely) just don't understand what his games are trying to do.

Also not surprisingly, Microsoft tried to dive deeper into their userbase's wallets saying they were going to jack up the XBox Live Gold annual subscription double to $120 starting next year.

After 24 hours of a Twitter firestorm, they reversed that decision.

Getting my second wind with Cyberpunk.  Actually really enjoying it. Apparently I have a few more side missions to end up with the one chick but not sure I care that much anymore lol.   Think I am just going to focus on finishing the main

I am looking at a gaming computer for my 13 yr old. I have been out of the computer arena for a long time and have no idea what is good anymore.   I am mainly looking at an entry level for right now, but the ability to upgrade in the future would be a big plus.

Does this computer fit? He would mainly be using for steam games with buddies (ie. Minecraft, and whatever other games 13 yr old boys are into).

Amazon computer

If it doesn't, what specs should I be looking for?  I am hoping to stay under $800 right now.  He has the monitor, keyboard, mouse because our old computer died.

Breaking: EA Sports is rebooting its college football series for Next Generation consoles. The announcement ends the hiatus that the game has taken since then-Michigan QB Denard Robinson appeared on the cover of NCAA Football 14.

:pickle:  I loved the NCAA games.  Wonder if this will be with 'real' teams/players.  I still hate EA, but this sounds like fun.

A few details on 'EA Sports College Football' from ESPN:

To make the game happen, EA Sports partnered with collegiate licensing company CLC to make sure they had the FBS schools, traditions, uniforms and playbooks -- among other things -- ready to go for the game. Over 100 teams will be in the game.

For now, EA Sports is planning to move forward without rosters that include the names, images or likenesses of real college players. Current NCAA rules prohibit athletes from selling their NIL rights while in college.

However, those rules are likely to be changed at some point in the coming year -- either by the NCAA, state legislatures or Congress. It's not yet clear if the evolving rules will allow for the kind of group licensing arrangements that would be needed for EA Sports to negotiate with athletes to use their names in the game.

Looks like they've negotiated licensing deals with like 100 schools but not the overarching NCAA license (hence the "EA Sports COLLEGE Football" instead of "NCAA football") and no player likenesses at this point.

But considering that it will take some time to build the game and the fact that NCAA name and likeness legislation is likely to pass in the next year, my guess is that players will be in the game once its released.

And at that point, everyone will realize that 99.9999% of the players dont have nearly as much value as they think they do.  My guess is it will be a much bigger deal for historical legend types instead of the guys playing now. I imagine someone like Tim Tebow (as an example) could expect a decent little payday to allow his likeness in the game. But the kid nobody has heard of who will be UF's quarterback 2 years from now when this thing is released....not so much.

Hope 2K follows suit and starts up their college hoops franchise again. Best sports game ever.

As long as they have an edit player option and the ability to import rosters there will enough willing people to do the editing for download.

Thats the thing I didnt get.   Way back when they release the game without names and it was numbers only.  Do the same thing but make the likenesses off - then wait for the roster dudes to clean it up.   I dont really care if the computer guy looks like some college kid.  I mean after 4 years in my dynasty they were all fake anyway

College Football is probably my favorite game of all time, Online dynasties were the best.

I dont give a #### if I have all freaking fake dudes.  Just give me the schedule, the ratings and the pageantry

Back to running the option #####es!!!!
