Yes. It became almost meaningless the more money you gained though. Me3 had the best combat balance of the 3 games. The ability to upgrade your weapons and gear in ME1 imo was far superior to the others, as well.
Ooo!Devil May Cry available free on PS3 now. Downloading underway.
Yeah but the inventory system made it very confusing as well. The ability to upgrade your weapons and gear in ME1 imo was far superior to the others, as well.

You're going to be stuck for a while after Bioshock Infinite. Depending on your completionist fetish, you might finish in 5 years.I started with ME2 as I am PS3 guy....so it went ME2 ME3 then ME1.
I loved all of them. While ME1 is dated compared to the epic ME2 and fantastic ME3 it was awesome to finally get the true backstory to everything I played through on 2 and 3.
I went ahead and stared ME2 right after ME with my new Sheppard.....less Rex whom was killed in my new playthrough in ME1....sucks as I loved Wrex. Anyway I am 1/3 of the way through on my second playthrough in ME2 then I just got sidetracked with so many games I have not played starting me in the face. So I will get back to it once I plow through a good 8 titles before it. Then go through 3 again with the Citadel DLC which I never played.
Currently playing (non sports)
Bioshock - really digging in to this now and picking up steam.
Diablo 3
Red Dead Redemption
Skyrim
In my que:
Bioshock 2
Bioshock Infinite
Dark Souls
Dragons Dogma Arisen
Kingdoms of Amular
Far Cry 3
Dead Rising 2
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil Revalations
Borderlands 2
All these games were bought for 19.99 or less new.......gotta love Amazon Prime.
I also just picked up Tiger Woods 13 for 9.99 new on Amazon.....I have not played a Tiger game since Tiger 2005 on PS2 so this should be a wow for me when I get to it.
I want to pick up Arkham Origins once it drops to the 19.99 price point. Absolutely loved AA and AC. Both the very best superhero games ever made.
I would recommend it. It's a story driven series that builds on itself. You can get a general overview of of the plot from Wiki or youtube, but ME1 is still a very good game worth playing.Never played the ME trilogy. Keep hearing that ME2 is way better than ME1. Do I even bother with ME1?
agreed. you develop a connection with quite a few of the characters in ME1, and it's a fun game.I would recommend it. It's a story driven series that builds on itself. Not to mention that playing through me1 and making the decisions has more meaning than just picking stuff in the comic. you could also import your ME1 save file if you were playing on the same system that i believe did the same thing. thought that feature was awesome. On the other hand, ME2 has a nifty 10-15 minute comic book style recap which allows you to make the critical decisions from ME1 and have them flow into your ME2 game. I never played ME1 and did just fine. I may go back and play it one day though.
Telltale said that your choices in 400 days would play apart of Season 2 in some way. I too played season one all at once and hate waiting for episode 2. It's exactly like I got started with the TV show (where I jumped in half-way through Season 3 - after enjoying the game).Anyone played/playing Season 2 of The Walking Dead?
I was spoiled by the fact that I got into Season 1 after all the episodes (sans 400 days) had been released. Sucks having to wait.
Last week I played 400 days and Episode 1. I absolutely love everything about how this series is done. Would like to be able to explore more without the limitations, but it is what it is.
Does anyone know when AND IF the outcome of 400 days will come into play in Season 2? The only survivor that didn't decide to leave the camp was Vince and I'm wondering if I want to go back and replay 400 days so that he does leave the camp as I really like his character and want him in Season 2 if in fact they actually reappear.
Nevermind, found it. Had to go into iTunes and click on share my library on local network.Quick question. I'm trying to set up a media server for the ps3 on my laptop. I did so and can see the server on the ps3. I navigate down to a music file and it won't play. Seems to only be looking for images. What am I doing wrong?

Again, I think that the best way to do ME1 is to set it to "easy" and do only the main story. No need to waste time on the side quests, IMO.Another vote for playing ME1 first. It's still a high quality game in it's own right.
I'm going to wait until the entire game is out before playing it. I hated having to wait for the next episode to drop during Season One.Anyone played/playing Season 2 of The Walking Dead?

Pretty much all my complaints for 2. The bonus is the ridiculous number of playable characters you get.Got about 6 hours in Mass Effect 2 now (got "archangel", jack, and the bounty Hunter as well as the scientist).
Good:
Graphics are noticeably smoother going straight from 1 to 2 - much improved framerate.
Shooting and cover is much smoother.
Bad:
I hate having to worry about ammunition during battle
Not really much customization to it anymore - not as much leveling and skill points and nowhere to put them if it was included. That's disappointing.
Also it took forever, but I became accustomed to the inventory in the first and don't really care for the new one.
This is a good point. There was a pretty good plot twist in the first game that those of us who have played all of them (or started with 2) take for granted.Another vote for playing ME1 first. Like others have said, it helps you really get attached to the characters. Also ME1 had by far the best story, if you pick it up with ME2 most of the mystery has already been revealed.
It is a bit nonsensical. But it's a bear to defeat if you play on insanity as a class that only uses pistols. Harbinger will wear you out, man.One negative thing I will say about ME2 is that the final boss is pretty ridiculous in a silly way.
Not as hard as that boss battle in Me3. Oh wait...It is a bit nonsensical. But it's a bear to defeat if you play on insanity as a class that only uses pistols. Harbinger will wear you out, man.One negative thing I will say about ME2 is that the final boss is pretty ridiculous in a silly way.
'Alternate' ending if you want to hear the actor sing, starts at about 2:45 if want to skip straight to the take of the scene.Statorama said:Disappointed we never got to hear Joel sing in "The Last Of Us" but otherwise a very satisfying game.
The final firefight to get to the last sequence was a huge PITA for me. Tough, tough fight. Not as hard as that boss battle in Me3. Oh wait...It is a bit nonsensical. But it's a bear to defeat if you play on insanity as a class that only uses pistols. Yes now THAT was a boss fight. The final firefight to get to the last sequence was a huge PITA for me. Tough, tough fight.I think the best/toughest boss battle in the series is in the Citadel DLC, which makes complete sense and is another reason it is such an awesome DLC.Not as hard as that boss battle in Me3. Oh wait...It is a bit nonsensical. But it's a bear to defeat if you play on insanity as a class that only uses pistols. I did a little Googling around the other day, for just the same reason, and came up empty.Does anyone know if there are plans for a PC port of Last of Us?
All the talk about it in here has me very interested.
The final "boss" battle is the one to get to the rocket launcher. And I thought it was awesome. Freaking BansheesNot as hard as that boss battle in Me3. Oh wait...It is a bit nonsensical. Yeah that was a seriously tough firefight. Constantly on the move, enemies coming from all directions in wave upon wave. Complete mayhem. It was sweet. The final "boss" battle is the one to get to the rocket launcher. And I thought it was awesome. Freaking BansheesNot as hard as that boss battle in Me3. No, Marauder Shields does NOT count.![]()
It's not, sort of. U2 is a way better game because the controls are perfect.I've never played any of the Uncharted games. Downloaded Uncharted 3 for free and am less than impressed. The settings are well done, the story is somewhat interesting but the linear nature of the game is terrible. Almost more of a movie that requires you to push the right button at the right time than a game. Very frustrating to die over and over again because I didn't run to the exact right spot or jump to the exact right place when there's no way to even know that you were looking for a specific spot until it's already too late.
I'm going to finish the play through, but if this is what the series is, it's way overrated.
That's not really a boss battle. That was a tough fight sequence. Very intense and fun/aggravating.The final "boss" battle is the one to get to the rocket launcher. And I thought it was awesome. No I was referring to the "battle" with illusive man that was anything but. Technically the final boss battle was Kai Leng a full 2-4 hours before the end.
Zero chance of this happening. Naughty Dog is owned by Sony. None of their games are going to be appearing on any non-PS platform.I did a little Googling around the other day, for just the same reason, and came up empty.Does anyone know if there are plans for a PC port of Last of Us?

I started U1, but lost interest maybe a third of the way through. I liked the story, but it was a tad too linear and the controls I found to be downright clunky and unresponsive. I've heard U2 fixes the control issues, so I plan on picking the series back up eventually.I've never played any of the Uncharted games. Downloaded Uncharted 3 for free and am less than impressed. I think they're really more like over-the-shoulder shooters with platforming elements, but yeah they're linear by design. At no point in any of them did I ever get tired of the gameplay though. Enemies can definitely be bullet-sponges at times, but otherwise this franchise features my favorite gunplay by far. It's not, sort of. U3 looks like U2 (good) but plays like U1 (bad).
But they are all really linear. It's a platformer, after all.
