Now theres a series thats all story and repetitive gameplay.

It's a platformer as a playable movie.

Theres times during 1 & 2 I wished it was a movie so I could just get on with life.

Loved that entire series. Different strokes. Though admittedly, if you didn't like 1, I have no idea why you'd get 2.

Well, U3 is more of the same gamewise. And the controls aren't as good as U2. But the graphics are the best the generation has to offer.

Nothing is universally loved.

But to say stuff like "playing through Uncharted all I could think of was this is call of duty with some indiana jones mixed in", and then passing that off as something other than AWESOME seems weird to me.

Not having to slaughter endless hordes of bad guys. Hes a treasurr hunter and yet Im pretty certain I killed about 1000 enemies in each of those games for no other reason than they were in my way. I expect that in Call of Duty not what is supposed to be a civilian hunting treasure.

How many guys did Indiana Jones kill? He flat murdered that guy in the marketplace.

I hate platforming. With a white hot burning passion. But I have never played Uncharted. I have had one or the other of the series recommended but I know better.

UC2 was one of my favorite games last gen, but UC3 just bored me to tears for some reason. I guess it was just too much of the same. I agree that the games would've benefited from fewer grind it out gun-fights and just gotten on with the story instead of trying to pander to the reviewers who could then say it was a 12 hour game.

The shooting is the worst part of the game to me. It feels too loose and I hate needing an entire magazine from an AK-47 to kill one guy. I like the platforming and the story though.

Everything is great in Uncharted except the shooting. Nailed cover based shooting? Maybe it was just that I played so much Gears beforehand, but the cover-based shooting in Uncharted was extremely "meh".

GTA (I'm putting Red Dead and LA Noire in here too) and Mass Effect are probably my top two.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag was the first AC that I actually finished so if they continue to improve they might get the #3 spot. I used to play the Resident Evil series with a couple buddies that made them really fun but on their own they aren't that good.

The 3 series that I'm angry haven't grabbed me are Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Uncharted. Some series (like Borderlands) I just don't like because I don't like the graphics, the map layouts, the story or the gameplay. With Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Uncharted I see the appeal and put in more than enough time with them but they just don't grab me for whatever reason.

FO3 is buggy with the default install on Win 7. I had to edit the ini file and disable some CPU cores, then had to go back and run it in windowed mode because if you alt tab out sometimes you can't get back in.

Enjoying it so far, but I'm dying a lot. Need to get some better weaponry.

I haven't played DS3. I decided to skip it when I found out it would feature co-op, and then it got panned pretty badly in user reviews. That said, I'll probably download it next month on PSN (it's free on Plus for PS3) and give it a quick run-through.

The other two were fantastic. DS1 gets all kinds of praise (rightly) and comes close to that perfect mix of atmosphere, horror, and action that Resident Evil 4 did so well. DS2 is the really underrated title in the series, and is even slightly better than DS1 IMO. Beating "hardcore" mode in DS2 was a nail-biter and one of the more tense/fun gaming experiences I've had.

I have played Amnesia: The Dark Descent and it is definitely creepy, especially because you can't really fight which makes you feel extraordinarily vulnerable. It is an interesting dynamic because eventually games like Dead Space turn into action games as you level up but with Amnesia it's all about finding cover, but don't stay in cover too long or you will start to go insane.

It's pretty cool and typically very reasonably priced.

Yup. Worth it too. But you won't find it on console.

Game was great. Totally different from 1 and 2. Some incredible set pieces, playing in outer space as well as on the planet surface (in the snow) outstanding. Some scary moments. But nothing like DS1 or even 2 in that regard. I agree about DS2. The game mechanics were far more refined and the scares were plenty as well.

I never understood some of the bad scores…Game Informer loved it though…I read that mag still.

Alien Isoloation looks like the truth. I am very excited that it truly looks like we are finally getting an Alien game in regards to it giving us an experience like the original movie. There is only one Xenomorph and you play as Ellen Ripley's daughter who is searching for her mother. It really looks like a true survival horror game this time around.

IGN gave it a 7.8 which seems darn low but a lot of their complaint seemed related to the fact that it was more action than survival horror (a fair complaint) but the loved the co-op mode.

IGN community gave it an 8.4 which seems pretty solid.

That's the one where you have to find all the tapes from the Keller family. They are spread out all over the wasteland. 5 in total. I think Ihave 3 so far but I haven't really worked it yet. It is unmarked quest. Once you have all 5 you get all the parts of the code to get into the bunker. The big thing in the bunker is a fat man that shoots 8 mini-nukes at once making it the most powerful weapon in the game.

Ok. Wow. Maybe I'll ignore that for now then. My original goal in finding the depo was to actually just walk all over downtown dc and kill all the mutants I can find.

Bought Bioshock when it first came out, lots of very creepy/scary moments. First few Big Daddy / Little Sister encounters, the first time you encountered certain enemies or like the time you get the shotgun for the 1st time.

Resident Evil remake on Gamecube was very scary, loved the use of fixed perspective. My favorite scary and most underrated game ever would be Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

Silent Hill 1 and 2 were the scariest games I've played. They're not the same quality as RE 1 or 2 or Dead Space 1, but they were scarier.

I'm not big on jumps/fright type games. I prefer to relax and would rather play Tiger Woods than have to creep around.

Hells yea. Seeing Shodan reveal herself for the first time back before Bioshock. Back before all the modern game twists of today just freaked me the #### out. The game starts glitching and the music chills your spine until she reveals herself in the creepiest manner possible.

I keep waiting for an E3 where someone is introducing a game and then the lights begin to dim and the walls starting peeling away. A screeching metallic voice breaks through and then it speaks. "I am SHODAN." The screen fades up to a modern version of a fully talking SHODAN. System Shock 3 then fades in. People then proceed to lose their ####.
