Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (10 Viewers)

I'm usually on top of every Halo release but this year I'm just not that excited. I'm torn between Halo 5 and WWE 2k15, gonna pick up one today. Anyone playing either of these?
Couldn't bring myself to stay up last night to play my Halo preorder. I played some Halo CE online for the first time ever instead, since the servers weren't working when I got the game last year. It was lots of fun playing Halo 1 maps again.

Yeah MCC was a huge letdown last year, but I've been playing it lately with success and nostalgia. Just started my download of H5, so if all goes well I should be on tonight. Been hearing some great MP reviews.

Yeah the Halo 5 multiplayer is really good. Though they turned down aim-assist big time. It makes me even suckier, but lots of people I guess prefer it this way.

Warzone rules by the way.

I thought I asked before but can't find it. Thinking of broadening my horizons but every time I try a new type of game I hate it. Witcher 3. Is it like Skyrim where I have to do every freaking little thing just to upgrade a sword.

More like red dead? In the middle?

Diablo 3 I gave a chance and it was ok but nothing I'd play again
I am trying to finish up Witcher. If you like story driven RPGs, its pretty good. If you like pure RPGs, this is not your game.I would say this is much more like Red Dead than Skyrim.
Thanks. No I am not a RPG guy at all. I used to hate any of them. But mordor I know not exactly the same, gta, red dead, uncharted type games I love.

I know that's a hodge podge there of not the same but anyway thanks
Maybe I was just in the mood for a change from Dark Souls after playing it relentlessly for a year but I surprised myself by how much I liked the Witcher 3. Once I got 10 hours in I got hooked. The world feels incredibly alive.

Sometimes I just walked around in the main city listening to the street noise and looked at everything like I was really walking through it and I greatly enjoyed the experience. If you like to feel immersed it's a very satisfying game.

Wound up getting Assassin's Creed Syndicate, told myself I wouldn't get the next one but this is actually is really good so far. Much more like the earlier versions of AC than the pile of crap that was Unity.

Another Madden story, no video this time.

I'm playing against the Vikings and he scores with 45 seconds to go up 32-27 before the extra point. At this poi the goes for two to try and make it a 7 point game. He runs a roll out play to the right, I take William Moore and jump the route to the TE, intercept it, and take it back the entire way. Now it's 32-29 and I'm feeling the momentum! He's running prevent on the next drive and I've only got one timeout but I'm able to get myself in position for a 51 yard FG with 2 seconds to go. I nail that one through and it's on to OT. I win the toss and and go down the field for the win.

Anyway I send the guy an XBL message afterward saying GG and that the end of regulation was intense. I get a two word response back "F*** off."
Why you gotta bully twelve year olds dude?

Just saw this Black Friday ad for an Xbox One. Anything better than this going on right now?....... Think this will be the standard for the Christmas season? I gots to get into the next gen era to play that Star Wars game!

Battlefront Star Wars....want to get this for the kids (and me), but have zero interest in online play. Does anybody know if it can be a single or 2 player offline game?

RTTS: Got called up by the Brewers for one September start. Then sprig training rolls around and I'm a damn 7th inning reliever. How do I make them un-relief me? I'd rather start in AAA than relieve in the majors

Online play only.
STILL can't believe this.
It hurts for the single player fans but shooters intended audiences are the online players and the stats reported over the years show a small percentage touch the single player content, so it breaks down to resource allocation basically. For example a game like titanfall was pretty solid (personal favorite shooter last year) but it would have been much worse if they added a campaign in as all resources were put into the multiplayer.

Titanfall felt like a dud. Not sure what the sales numbers were but it obviously didn't do anything for gamers who like the campaigns, and the online user base dried up pretty quickly.

Again, another reason why you see sequel after sequel of the same games. Because when we do get new IPs, the ones that try it only play for a short time and move back to the same ol', same 'ol. After playing Titanfall for a few days, people tend to revert back to BattleCall of Halo or whatever it is that they play.

Ahhh RTTS update....somehow on a strikeout, my P got a head injury and 15 day DL

Returned from DL, threw two straight shutouts to resume lead league in whip, era, k, bb...and then 3 straight losses in a row where the Pirates have scored a total of 0 runs....and twice they have pulled me in the 8th with a shutout going and the reliever blows it....and somehow I get the Loss.

fun game :)

Can't imagine there is no market for a single player Star Wars game.

I just don't have the time or inclination to get into a game/universe with a bunch of jobless cosplayers who focus on the game 14 hours a day. I might have 6 hours a week, tops.

My 10 year old still plays. Not a bad game for what it was.

You can be decent at most shooter games (especially one like this that is super casual) playing a few hours a week. It's not gears of war.

Yeah, the Super hard core are still gonna dominate, but there will be plenty of other casuals to have fun playing against. With 30+ players on a server, the serious players can only do so much damage.

If you can't have any fun playing this particular game,it has nothing to do with a bunch or try hards playing 8 hours a day. It's just because you're awful at games.

There is a demand for it. Just its not easy money like the online games. This is very much like battlefield because dice is making it and probably reused quite a bit of base infrastructure code imo.

Imagine a Star Wars based game using some of the books content in a MassEffect type game....damn that would be awesome.

I feel it shines with its movement system that is being copied in cod again, also the balance of ai vs humans and the use of mechs is fantastic. More games, even if they don't particularly like the game itself, should use it as a measuring stick for balance and fun/functionality.

Those looking for SP Star Wars games should look into the dated but fantastic Jedi Knight games. 1 and 2 were awesome for action and even story.

I played KOTOR 1 for the first time last year and loved it. Played KOTOR 2 this year and loved it too, until the very rushed and incomplete ending (still bizarre to me even though NCCommish explained what happened).

I would be all over a Mass Effect type game in the Star Wars universe.

But I am awful at games. I still want to play though and have fun. Is that a bad thing?

Not at all. I'm awful at certain games (console shooters) as well.

I just don't think you should blame it on "jobless losers who play 8 hours a day".

I'm sure we'll eventually see some star wars games with fully fleshed out single player experiences. But the market for a multiplayer focused game is like 1000 times the size of your market. Sucks for guys like you but it's just business

I was thinking Fallout/Skyrim type game set in the Star Wars Universe would be fun.

I played the Battlefront Beta. It is a very accessible FPS, has authentic sounds and music to a tee, gorgeous visuals etc.

However, Fallout 4 is coming out Tuesday, and like many here I am a 40 something with limited game time. I play sports games first and foremost and then I fit in one non sports game that typically takes me 2-3 months to complete between my MLB The Show, Madden and now NHL and NBA 2K.....it's crazy. So I have to carefully choose the best use of my limited gaming time.

I started Destiny....played 20 hours....and now am realizing...it is simply a grind game playing the same missions over and over and over at higher levels. It's a fun game, probably the best FPS I have ever played, but a time sink for...nothing. I will play it maybe once a week going forward with my brother-in-law. Do some mission runs, join a fire team to run a raid. But I am not going to want to grind and grind the same missions over and over.

Fallout 4 is a game I can immerse myself and get 250-300 hours out of over the next year. That is the best bang for my gaming dollar. I will eventually get Battlefront next year when it is in the discount bin. I can easily drop in and hold my own with that game and not pay full retail for it. It's nothing like a Battlefield 4 where if you are not in from the start you can't really recover. EA made a very easy game in Battlefront to just plug and play. It is a basic FPS shooter in the Star Wars universe.

Smart decision.

But the lack of a single player campaign killed my interest to buy it after playing the beta and realizing it is not a must buy day one. Nothing ground breaking at all.

That would be amazing. An open world Star Wars game would be insane.

I'd buy it without hesitation. There is certainly enough engine types available.

You can have a planet and space engine similar to Destiny with a few more planets or moons or whatnot. Your character is a young guy who is understanding that he might have the power of the force. Go on quests, learn the force, have a lightsaber. Battle the darkside on planets. Etc etc etc. It would make a bazillionty dollars. I would think.

So KOTOR all gussied up with a modern engine?

The only thing about that is that a FPS title seems to lose a bit of pop with the casual gamers as they get older. Plus, there's no guarantee that Disney won't churn out Star Wars FPS on a yearly basis. I'm a limited time gamer as well, and I've had my best success in getting the FPS's on release day...playing the #### out of them for a month and then reselling them back for max value.
