My sense is that BF and COD stay at $60 a lot longer than SP games. Maybe I'm wrong about that.I really want battlefield one but I'm wondering if I can catch it on sale in a week or two.
COD almost never goes on sale, from what I have seen from the PC side. BF will go on sale, but it will be a little while. I would say few months vs few weeks. My sense is that BF and COD stay at $60 a lot longer than SP games. Maybe I'm wrong about that.
Yes, please.Got my Infinite Warfare beta code today. The email contained 5 extra codes if anyone wants one. This is for XBox. PS4 is open to everyone this weekend.
Try one of these. They may be used.Yes, please.
ETA: Darn
No luck, but thank you.Try one of these. They may be used.

I preorded from Best Buy online and got a code emailed to me.No luck, but thank you.
Pre-ordered the game at Best Buy last week, yet after checking my receipt, no code for the beta. Nothing on the placard either.
Thank you! This was so much fun. I was previously locked into completing social policy groups but this time I just cherry picked based on happiness. Even opened up "Order" ideology for the first time. Didn't get Notre Dame or Eiffel Tower wonder s like I normally do and didn't even need them. So crazy to start the game with some warriors that get XP and minor promotions and end with self healing Mech Infantry monsters. Domination bonus: picking up luxury resources as you conquer.I do it all the time. The key is to focus on social policies that give happiness per city or happiness per building. Meritocracy, military caste, professional army, naval tradition. You eventually reach a point where adding cities is a net gain to happiness, if they've got a full slate of buildings. And you don't really need a large standing army, since the AI is so bad at tactics, so you can focus most of your production on these buildings.
What makes you like it the most?East Coast Bias said:I played a couple hours each of the betas for Battlefield, Titanfanfall and Infinite Warfare. Had the most fun playing Titanfall so that's what I've ordered. Unfortunately, it will probably have the fewest players.
Really love the game play, really hate the interface. I believe this to be correct... You have to go into a MP match, before the match starts you have the option to customize your player. From there select the gun etc from the little gear that is shown next to it. You should then see guns available for bail bonds. Not sure if there is another way to do it or not but would love to know an easier way of doing it.Kid bought BF1, so I played a bit over the weekend. Stupid question for those who have played, how the heck do you buy new guns? I can get to the screen where you can look at all the guns you can buy for each type of soldier. I find one that is green, and I have enough war bonds for, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to buy it. I swear I pushed every button on the stupid controller, but I can't find another place I should be buying them.
That's really stupid, but I'll give it a try. Why have the only place to do this the timed section between games? I guess it gives you something to do while waiting for the game to load.Buddy Ball 2K3 said:Really love the game play, really hate the interface. I believe this to be correct... Tried this last night, and it worked. It's really frustrating that the only place to do this is between games. Buy a gun, add it to one of the three set ups for that player type, do some customization, and and whoops, miss the start of the next round. I haven't gotten to play as much as I would like, but I really like the MP. The comments above about the interface are on point though -- not sure why you can't tinker with your loadout someplace other than in-match.Battlefield is phenomenal so far. Haven't played MP yet.
I saw Outlast on there too for about $6. Is that any good? There are a few scare-type games on sale on XB1. State of Decay and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood are two good titles for $10 each.
Haven't played it but what I read makes it sound worth $6.I saw Outlast on there too for about $6. Is that any good?

You can also get the app. It's called Battlefield Companion and it's free. You can sign in with your PSN or Gamertag. Then hit the "Career" button at the bottom. Then select Battlefield 1. Scroll down and you'll see a white Customize Loadout button/bar.Buddy Ball 2K3 said:Really love the game play, really hate the interface. I believe this to be correct... I'm a bit of a dullard and miss a lot of intended or implied tone on this message board. Soooo, yes?Oh good christ, really?
His tone is probably similar to mine in that I'm thinking "can I please just buy a game and play it without needing an app / second device / second screen to make it easier?"I'm a bit of a dullard and miss a lot of intended or implied tone on this message board. Soooo, yes?
Also, apparently you can use the app mid match (or any time) to change your load outs. I have not tried this though.
Edit: The in game setup for adjusting your character and spending WarBonds is terrible. I didn't know what the war bonds were or where/how to use them. Switch my medic class off of the single shot rifle was probably the most helpful change so far. Switching out ammo and health Packs for Crates has been a nice help too.
Outlast is a great game. Very different playstyle than most games and some great jump scares.Haven't played it but what I read makes it sound worth $6.
What do the crates do? Haven't played with them yet.I'm a bit of a dullard and miss a lot of intended or implied tone on this message board. Soooo, yes?

I've never gotten one so I don't know but...What do the crates do? Haven't played with them yet.
how are the cutscenes in terms of language / gore? My 10 year old kid played dug the MP Beta, if I am going to buy it, I want him to be able to do the SP too (without my wife #####ing).Battlefield is phenomenal so far. Haven't played MP yet.

I'm out already. The setting intrigued me, but every time I try a game like this, I'm reminded how much I do not enjoy most multiplayer games. Spawn, run, die. Spawn, run, die. I played Battlefront, but it quickly lost enjoyment for me. This is giving me the same experience on many maps. Here's my basic experience: spawn and do one of two things, try to play cautious, so I move slowly through the board keeping an eye out for enemies. One of two things will happen, I'll slowly creep around a corner and some camper will see me coming and mow me down, or a rusher will come up behind me and mow me down. Or, I'll spawn and feel like I'm away from the action so I'll sprint towards the action. I'll get mowed down by a camper I can't see.
My k/d ratio has got to be about 1/10 so far.

I know, I know, "git gud" (or however it's spelled). I play the Souls games - I know all about this. Twitch-y type games just aren't my thing.
I'm not on Xbox but I just signed out to check and it's there. Just under under the PSN sign in bar.Downloaded the app. It makes you select PC or PS4. No XB1 option?
Are you going to die lots? Most likely. Are you blindly running to your death? Sounds like it. You have options to heal as medic, focus on keeping everyone stocked up on ammo, spotting and sniping, shooting mortars, trying to disable vehicles. Or flying planes, driving tanks, manning guns. There's so many options besides just running head first into a situation where you liking should die.I'm out already. What do you think of R6: Seige?Same here.
Both times I played MP I was essentially spawn camped.
I HATE respawns. Always have, always will. Team deathmatch with no respawns is the way to go. This turns the game into a strategy game and not a twitch shooter with no penalty for playing like an idiot.
It's great. I never play because I hate playing with randoms and I dont know the maps. What do you think of R6: Seige?
Nah, I'm not blaming the game - these games (along w/ CoD, et al) are way too popular for it to be the game. it's me - I just don't seem to enjoy multiplayer all that much. But every year, a game comes out that looks interesting, and I say "maybe..." and it just never takes. And yes, I'm really not that good. Are you going to die lots? Most likely. It doesn't even make sense that you should be able to just randomly pick up the game and be able to go on kill streaks against experienced players. It would be the same as picking up a racing game the saying, "I don't like hitting the gas, going off the track, getting reset. Hitting the gas, going off track, getting reset. Hitting the gas, making one turn, going off track, getting reset."
With Battlefield games it isn't even that you have to you only have one option (gun fights). There's lots of other ways to help.
Each to their own for sure but I'm just not sure what you're expecting. Not just saying "get good" either but don't blame the game that. Maybe it's the games fault for not showing the other/better ways of playing but it is definitely more than just sprinting to deaths.
There's a couple guys on the board who are digging it. I think they're on Xbox. It's great. I never play because I hate playing with randoms and I dont know the maps.
I can get on board with that. I remember Goldeneye and Halo battles with friends only. And agree 100%.Nah, I'm not blaming the game - these games (along w/ CoD, et al) are way too popular for it to be the game. it's me - I just don't seem to enjoy multiplayer all that much. I did enjoy LAN multiplayer years ago with 10-15 friends getting together in my bud's basement and setting up our rigs to play UT all night (especially on maps like Hall of Giants, Facing Worlds, etc). Was a blast, but never caught that magic again with online MP. Beyond the obvious "in a room with friends", maybe part of the charm was because we were all around the same skill level (bad), and you could just pick up and play and have fun right away.
ETA - I did dig Titanfall for awhile last year - it was the closest to that old UT vibe. To me, they balanced that game perfectly for noobs, and the bots made it so everyone felt useful (at least in the beginning - once it was loaded with experienced players, it wasn't as much fun - again, I'm not that good at FPS.)
One of the more enjoyable games I had was a TDM on that German castle board. My team was set up in the hills looking down at the castle and were sniping away. I selected support and just ran from teammate to teammate giving ammo drops. If anyone got up the hill, I tried to take them out. Far better than that stupid forest board with the train track down the middle. I have yet to find a way to successfully play on that board.Borden said:Are you going to die lots? Most likely.
