Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

I love the Modern Warefare, Halo's 1 - 3  but I'm having trouble getting into this latest batch of shooters.  I do enjoy Battlefield One but I feel totally out manned.  I enjoyed the first Titanfall for like a month, is the second a significant upgrade?

I'm moving for work in the new year and bunch of the guys I work with are on XB. I think I will have to join, FBGs either way though. I know for sure that @bigmarc27 and @Bucky86 are XB guys. I'm thinking that I will jump ship from PS on Black Friday. 

If you guys (or anyone) come across great deals or have suggestions (ie; get the elite controller, get the 1 TB, etc) let me know.

Didn't play the first Titanfall but the second is pretty good. 

Why do you like BF1? Just asking because I think I can give a better recommendation if I know how you like to play. 

As far as not feeling so outmanned, don't worry about it and contribute in other ways. The most help you can do is revive/heal if you're attacking and kill tanks if you are defending. Two tips: aim for tank tracks instead of the hull. And make sure you don't die without throwing all you grenades.

Battlefield "feels" like Modern Warfare to me.  I typically rush in and try to then flank the bad guys.  Strategy and steady aim are not my strong suits.

Titanfall is your game. I know it sounds like I'm just ranting with recency bias but it isn't. Titanfall gets you back into the action the fastest, the gun doesn't "walk" as much so you like BF and there is TONS of flanking routes. Also, flanking with a Titan is fairly manageable.

Overwatch would be a distant second on my list. It takes longer to get back to the fight and more strategy to flank but a good flanker or "disruptor" is very valuable. And the guns don't walk at all. 

Titanfall was made by the guys that made guys that made Modern Warfare. If what you want is that epic, large scale war then BF1 is the way to go but based off of what you said I strongly suggest Titanfall 2. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Alright bro, buying this weekend.  

 
Here's my most recent issue with BF1.  This may be normal for BF games, but this is my first one.  Getting new guns is relatively rare (maybe that's because I suck and take a long time to level up, but anyway).  However, the rating for the guns is pretty limited.  Based on the "stats" alone, most of the guns seem pretty equal.  You give up something to get something, and at least the lower level guns all seem pretty balanced.  However, they guns play/look/feel very different.  I have unlocked guns that looked to be an upgrade, but just didn't work for me, but there was no way of knowing what the downside was going to be based on the description.  It kind of sucks to have to make such a calculated decision on limited information, and then have to wait so long for another choice.

Do most people stick to one class so you can keep leveling that up or mix it up?  I've been mixing it up, but it takes forever to level each class up, I don't think I'd ever get to the higher classes.  I'd like to stick with one class, probably best suited for support, but it doesn't always work depending on the group you're randomly playing with.

I already own it on PC.  It wasn't worth buying again for me.  It was fun with friends, but completely boring solo.  And why I haven't played it since we all finished it the first time.

 
From Kotaku: Watch Dogs 2 is a fun game, but it has some of the worst checkpointing I've come across in a long time. Multiple times, I've died on the final phase of a multi-phase mission only to be kicked back to the very start. 

Dammit - this was the worst aspect of the original for me. Still in, but damn.

I tried to join but it will only let me "follow" the club. It won't let me send a request for invitation either.

I found the setting turned off for requests.  I thought if I turned it off, it may just let people join without requesting.  Apparently, I was wrong.  

You should be able to request invite now.  Once I get a few guys on board, I'll assign admins so I won't have to be the only one to answer invites.  Looks like a few others followed too.  I don't see who is following, but you're welcome to request invites also.  Too bad it can't be as simple as Steam groups.

I downloaded Far Cry Blood Dragon on Games with Gold. It's pretty awesome. After playing I feel like I took steroids and slathered myself in awesome sauce. 

 
When do you guys think there will be the best deals for a PS4 system?  I am buying it for myself so I can wait until January to buy it if that's when the best deals will be, but prefer not to wait longer than that.

My guess would be Black Friday (Nov. 25th) /Cyber Monday. 

From what I've read, just get the standard PS4 rather than the PS4 Pro. The Pro is mostly just for 4K TVs.

I stream. Don't care about my personality. Im always grateful when people do find me interesting enough to stick around. Mostly it's just me and my friends doing what we would anyway.  

Madshot watches sometimes so he knows I'm not a pro by a longshot. Just mostly **** around and try to have fun.

I go by TravJam on Xbox.  SlaX was my original Xbox Live SN (I mean Xbox live launch day) but I forgot my password, so I had to create a new one on the 360.  I've tried to go back to my old name after they supposedly released old stagnant names, but it's apparently still taken.

Playstation store just started up a pretty good sale too.  I'm going to pick up:

Mad Max - $10

AC: Syndicate - $15 (gold edition w/ DLC $30)

Some other good games:

Witcher complete $30, Witcher basic $20, FC4 and Primal $15

Also got the complete first season for Hitman (30 bucks and I love Hitman games)

Dishonored Remastered for 10 bucks (I want to replay this before I get the new one next year on the cheap)

Any of you guys playing/played GoW4?  Wondering specifically how the language/gore filter works on this one and if it takes enough out to be passable for my 9 year old.  I haven't heard the end of it from him about getting this game   :pokey:

I think both the original and the Pro PS4s are VR ready.

But VR doesn't really interest me right now. Plus, I don't think VR will hit it's stride until the actual next generation of consoles. 

 
Started Dishonored 2 and enjoying it so far.  My XB1 version comes with a digital download for Dishonored: Definitive Edition (includes all DLC) as well, so I may replay that at some point.

 
They are selling a limited edition of Nintendo 3DS for $100 starting on Black Friday. Thinking about getting it for my son. Is it worth it? Hes 7. He likes Pokemon so I can get him the new game as well.

I wish they'd put the season pass on sale. I cheaped out and bought the basic version. Now I want the other operators but I'm being to cheap to pay $30 for it.

 
Picked up both wolfenstein games for $6.50 each. Very happy with that so far. I love killing Nazis so this is good clean mindless action. 

Also got the complete witcher 3 game for $25. These games have the best cut scenes in all of gaming. 

Necropolis is looks good but I want it cheaper then $20.

Can't say I've used the filter but there is a lot of gore and language being tossed around. Not sure what the game would even look like with a filter on.

That's basically the Pokemon system. So yes. Perfect.

I'm thinking of getting a couple for my soon to be 6yo twins. If we can get them.

I don't think so. This one is stage after stage of creative ways to kill Nazis. And who doesn't like that? Looks like both Old Blood and New Order are that price on XBL Gold. 

Also,  Life is Strange is $6.60 and Metro Redux is $6 on XBL Gold.

Can someone tell me the game that supposed to look really good but it was only like 6 hours long and everybody #####ed about it

 
Bought the Wolfenstein's on XBOX Live for $6.60 each as well, huge fan of the original shooters back in the day.

Debating Titanfall 2 and that Telltale package. I already own The Walking Dead 1 & 2, so wondering if it is worth it for the other 3 games at that price.
