Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (1 Viewer)

For the PS4, how do you manage game save files?  For example, if I want to save a file to a flash drive to back it up or delete a save when not in the game.  For PS3 there was a folder with all of the saves and it was easy to manage but I can't find anything like that in the PS4.

Thanks!  One more question.  When I try to copy a file to the USB storage device it's saying there isn't one connected, but I have a flash drive in and the flash drive has a blinking light going which I thought indicated that it was connected.  Do I have to format the flash drive to get it to work and if so, how do I do that?

So I started on walking dead 2 but it won't read my safe file from walking dead 1. I understand this is a major issue and can't find any work around online. Does anybody have any ideas?  PS4 both downloaded games.

The Mass Effect Andromeda trailer honestly didn't do much for me at all. The environments looked nice, but the characters looked awful. The combat seemed a bit hectic, but that's not a huge deal I guess.

Ill still play it, but it's probably a wait tip it's $20 game.

Anybody have any recommendations for maybe some obscure resource gathering/building games?

Normally I'm the type of person who can't sit still but for whatever reason I can play very monotonous games that have a lot of resource gathering and building. The early stages of Actraiser, Age of Empires, Terriania, and so forth. I like the resource gathering and building more then the actual fighting and such so I'm NOT looking for RTS games.

Maybe I should check out those train simulators or old railroad tycoon games.

Any suggestions? Games can be fairly old too. If fact, if they are on PC they will need to be as my 6 y/o laptop isn't made for gaming.

TIA

Stardew Valley is an amazing game that fits your description and probably your laptop specs. It was on sale on steam for about 8 bucks recently......one of the best games in that genre I ever played! I highly recommend to anyone.

Looks like it comes to XB1 December 14th. Looks a little SNES-ish, which isn't necessarily a good thing but thanks, I'll look into it.

No problem....don't be turned off by the graphics. It is really nicely made and a very deep game. Not sure what the cost will be on xbox, but you cant go wrong with the price on the pc.

When you say obscure, I take it to mean you've tried Minecraft, which is basically the king of that genre?  If not, give it a shot.

So you like mining for resources and then crafting things? I think there is a game out there for you.

Patrician was a game that was solely economic/building/trading. The Caesar games had very little fighting, too, iirc.

@Mad Cow I have never purchased through Gog.  Is this something I can get today on my laptop and then transfer later to my pc when it is built?  I am unsure if I can download twice or if the game is easy enough to copy from one machine to the next.
Yeah, you have an account with them and can download and install again whenever you want, DRM free.

I dont feel much like googling this so maybe you nerds can break it down for me

Watched the beginning of the gaming awards last night. The host did a whole monlogue about how unfair what happened to the guy who made metal gear was.

I think this is in relation to last year awards show when he won an award but could not attend the event because he was supposedly barred from it by his ex employer Konami.

Thx. How does an ex employer bar you from going. And I do believe that you are correct. In the pregame  they said how he was not able to be there last year

Terraria, No Mans Sky, Minecraft.

Farming Simulator or City: Skylines might be alright too

There's also a few survival games too. I'm struggling with their names at the moment though. H1Z1 is one, I think. That's a few options to get you started. Steam might might give you some decent recommendations too, if you're looking at these games.

They left on bad terms and he would have had to stand with them on the podium to accept the award. Konami  asked (told) him not come.

BTW, the game awards were the most cringe-tacular event I've seen all year. This was an actual bit they kept pushing out there over and over.

#TheGameAwards Wheres your God now? #Hydrobot Never forgive! Never forget! https://t.co/t6ehb4mVrH

And their opening act was these 2 rappers (a white guy and black guy) who apparently have a song on Gears 4 (never noticed or heard it).  They sung a song about a bag of #####. I #### you not. The silence after was epic.

Came to post same. It looks like it just might get really good.

Did anyone you see/hear anything about if you're going to have your crew fighting along side you? I watched the trailer quick with no sound but I didn't anyone besides the main character fighting.

If you watch a lot of the vids from the old games, you'll notice your companions are not always visible but they're there. There were also some missions you fought solo. I can't imagine that they will scrap combat partners. It's their main staple.

I rewatched the new video. I saw a buddy helping fight. I just didn't notice it before. Just needed to pay more attention.

I would give Rimworld or Stardew Valley a shot if I were you.

Now I remember why I stopped playing online.  I freaking suck

I need bf help

Are you doing arcade or realistic?
Primarily arcade, but I dabble in realistic.

It sucks spending 10 minutes climbing to altitude only to get blasted out of the sky by a BF109 right as you are almost ready to start hunting.  Realistic seems like it would be better if you had a squadron to communicate with.

Yeah, my one attempt at realistic was basically the same thing. A lot of flying for near instant death.

If you're on Windows, I'll squad with you some time. But I suck and only have low tier American planes, so don't know if I would help.

I started on Americans because I only really want the iconic American WW2 planes - Lightning, Mustang, Wildcat, Flying Fortress and Liberator. But now I read that America is basically the worst country to start with. Their powerful fighters are apparently not at all newb-friendly.
