Yeah, my one attempt at realistic was basically the same thing. A lot of flying for near instant death.

If you're on Windows, I'll squad with you some time. But I suck and only have low tier American planes, so don't know if I would help.

I started on Americans because I only really want the iconic American WW2 planes - Lightning, Mustang, Wildcat, Flying Fortress and Liberator. But now I read that America is basically the worst country to start with. Their powerful fighters are apparently not at all newb-friendly.
I started with Russia because I read their premium plane that you start with is awesome (and it is).  That said, I kinda fell in love with the American tree, but you need to get out of Tier 1.  I just got to Tier 3 American and the Mustang is awesome.  Most of the American planes thrive off altitude and energy.  Hang out over the battlefield, observe someone who is alone and vulnerable, dive down, take them out and climb back up.  You die by getting greedy if you miss on the initial pass and start turning.  Keep your speed and altitude at all times.

The low tier plane that I liked was the TBD Devastator.  It's a tank for its tier and is guaranteed to wipe out a bunch of ground units and win the match if there is anyone else helping.  Also, do not jump out to get the highest ranking plane you can research because that is the plane you get matched up against.  If you have all 1.7 and research a 2.7 plane, you will get matched against planes as high as 4.0.  In your 1.7 planes you are toast.

Can you "downplay" on the PS4? (Can I play my PS3 games on the PS4 box)

Hoping I don't have to go out and "re-up" all the PS3 games I love (I'm looking right at you GTA V)

picked up a ps4 today for 100....had black flag which i had on xbone so went and got last of us...can't wait for the kid to stop playing so i can have a go...

Sony still refuses to support backwards compatibility.  And even if they eventually do, GTA V won't be ported since the game is already available for the system.

We decided to get the kids a new game console.  Currently I have a PS3 that hasn't been used all that much.  Decided to switch to XBOX and got a bundle with GoW 3, (I think) plus a couple sports games and a couple games for my 5 year old (dance game and some other carnival game to use with kinect).

So, to my dumb question.  It appears you have to pay for your online access for games.  Is that true?  If so, what's the best route to go there?  On playstation the online part was free, so this is new to me.

TIA....

It's all pay now - if you want to play online

I think they have family accounts now - not 100% sure  You'll get deal here and there for $40 12month code but you can just signup through the console

Need some FFA input. So bought a PS4 on Cyber Monday and got a $10 Prime Now credit for the purchase. So I figured I'd use it on a game for that system. Which here is a good game and a good deal? Prices are before the $10 credit.

Fallout 4 - $24.99

Resident Evil 6  - $14.99

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - $39.99

Dishonored 2 - $39.99

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - $38.82

I've played all the previous Fallouts, Skyrim, those types. Uncharted series, Laura Croft, Last of Us, Far Cry, Bioshock. XCOM. I do NOT play online at all, so looking for a good single player experience. I know Fallout is probably high on everyone's list, but have to admit, I haven't gone straight for that because I am kind of burned out on it. So if it is more of the same, I may find it monotonous.

TIA.

If you feel like you're burned out on Fallout 4, go Dishonored 2 and revisit Fallout 4 later.

Installed my video card. Downloaded Forza.

My PC looks phenomenal on my projector.

It's pretty freaking awesome

Yep, what he said. One gold account is about $40 per year. You can set it up that one account with up to 4 different gamertags. So each person can have their own unique ID to play games (their own saves, data, etc).

Your primary gamertag is the one you buy games digitally with. Anyone who plays on your xbox can play any of those digital or disc games.

Witcher 3. Awesome game and Fallout 4 would be second on my list but it's worth waiting a bit longer for because they've recently allowed mods on PS4. So, wait for the mod library to build up a bit. Plus, at that price for the Witcher it's probably going to include all the DLC.

That's a projector and there's some kind of "TV" it displays on?
Thats my screen.  It's 102".

Pic 1 is my split screen ~33" approximate tv size (MNF) -- Right side ~67" Forza .  I unsplit it for the other pics. I can do 2 50" if need be

eta: Added pic of projector

good stuff!

Do you use mouse and keyboard or a controller?

FOr forza - I have a 360 controller.

For browsing and such wireless mouse and keyboard.  They are just basic logitech.  I don't game a ton on PC.  SO mostly controller unless it's like total war or something.

Never was a keyboard/mouse gamer

I have mostly been a console player but I am building a pc and will start to do some pc gaming and am interested to see if a controller will be better for me.

Do I need to find an app that helps convert a controller's controls over to what any specific game expects to see for mouse and keyboard?

I haven't had any issues.  I have the Microsoft 360 wireless adapter. SO any games usually have a controller option and map with no issues.  A couple I've had to go into the menus and just map a button or 2.  The MS controllers map to windows pretty seemlessly

There is a prgram if you want to get a PS4 bluetooth adapter and map PS4 controller

I tried so hard to like The Last Of Us but just didn't. Same with Uncharted. That's just not my style of game at all, I guess.

I did the same thing with Last of Us. Weapons that break and being forced to sneak/stealth in games ruins it for me.

picked up a ps4 for 100$...went to gamestop and got last of us and bloodborne...any other must haves?
i know not everyone in this thread agreed, but most fun I've had with my ps4 was MGS:V. Story got to be a bit of a mess, but I loved playing it.

nice, didn't know a 1060 would work in a gen2 slot. Hope I didn't come off as an ### in the other thread. The gen2 vs 3 was what got me to the rebuild point. Really happy you found something that's working great!
A little :P :) In all seriousness I knew it would run and I only run 1080p so I didn't need to worry. I just needed a good dx12 card

Thanks guys

The update to No Man's Sky is, dare I say, really really good.
That is great to hear. I shelved that after 30 hours of doing the exact same thing over, and over and over.

Besides the base building what else is much better. I am more of an explorer/trader and space pirate than base builder.

can you give a quick description of some of the additions/improvements?
The few things that I know:

Base building - Built on a planet (and fairly easy to do) and can fast travel to and from that spot.  This includes setting up things like research stations, weapons stations, and farming stations.  All of which give you different items that you'd normal have to scavenge for.

Can buy a freighter and setup a "mobile" base on it.  Can summon your freighter to you anytime you're in orbit.

New games modes including a "survival" mode which makes the game much harder.  The challenge gives you a bit more feeling of accomplishment.

There may be more but that's what one of the guys who works with me said.

Yeah. The environment is much more dangerous and resources are much scarcer, to the point that you have to actually make tactical decisions about how you use them. Get careless, or make the wrong choice, and you will die.

Pre-patch, you never had to worry about your life support or hazard protection or shields or launch thrusters, because you were never more than five feet away from everything you needed to keep them going. They were just these annoying things that made you stop whatever you were doing every five minutes to refuel them. I'd mostly just wander aimlessly on the planets trying to find and scan all the animals, or looking for good screenshots.

Now, I'm constantly keeping an eye on things like, how far am I from my ship? How much further can I go, before I won't have time to make it back before I freeze to death? What if an acid rainstorm pops up while I'm out here, are there any caves I can run to for shelter? Are there predators in those caves? Is it worth spending the fuel I need for life support to jetpack across this canyon to get the mineral deposit? What if I don't make it, can I survive the fall? Did that sentinel see me chop down those trees? He did. ####. ####. Should I find someplace to hide? Can I make it back to the ship? How far was I from my ship, again?

Survival is awesome.

Your can build a harvester in normal mode to mine for you. The home base adds a lot of fun to the journey now.

Most of the interfaces and menus are better.

More variety in almost everything.

You can hire aliens to work for you in your home base.

You can mark places on the planet now.

Most of the changes are more feel then story but it's actually fun to play now and hopefully it's the basis of more updates because the potential is there for a great game.

Wow, interesting.  Sounds like they are adding some pretty decent content.

I sat on the fence for this game and all of the initial reviews here and otherwise told me not to buy.  But its starting to sound like it might be worth it now or maybe rather shortly.  I'll probably wait until the next big patch and scoop it up.  I've got enough on my plate with Civ6 and I don't think I ever made it halfway through Fallout4.

They did call this update the "foundations" update.  They're saying that they're setting the foundation to finish the game they wanted to put out.

I need help.

I started up EMPIRE : Total War last night.  I did the battle against the Indians.

I'm nnow this giant dude on a field.  I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing.  I left on the things its says too, then I right click but nothing happens

So completely lost

If anyone is still playing Diablo 3 on the PS4, please let me now.  I am about to sell my copy and would like to give away my stuff to someone who wants.

I play with my son and daughter here and there. Not hard core but have pretty high level guys, many maxed from power leveling.

So pissed. ordered a Nintendo 3ds xl from amazon for my son for Christmas on the Sunday after black Friday.  they kept delaying the shipment even though when I ordered it it was in Stock.  I ordered games for it too. finally it was supposed to be delivered today.  just got an email that the order was cancelled and a new one will be shipped December 28. I'm livid

I had a similar issue last year with Target on a WiiU bundle on Black Friday. The cancelled mine completely though and refused to honor it in any way.
