Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (9 Viewers)

So infuriating. Do all the fighting quests, the last one having a lvl 30 requirement. Finish that and am given a quest to fight the champion of champions that has a lvl 11 requirement. WTF?!

Is that the troll or the bear?  I did those awhile ago. I'm right at the end of the game.  If you have any witcher contracts or side quests that are "must sees," post them here.

So for someone that has played through the Dark Souls series but just got a PS4, which is the better game, Bloodborne or Dark Souls III?
Bloodborne is definitely the better game IMO.  DS3 is very good, and you'll find it extremely easy to pick up right where you left off from DS1 and DS2.  BB really changes up the gameplay in a positive way though, and the change of setting is nice.  Both are good, but Bloodborne is really excellent.

Was the bear lvl 25 bare handed. Awful. Why have hard fights and then the "final" quest is so far below?? Makes it so you get no XP. Fast travel limitations are really starting to annoy me as well.

I don't remember the troll being that low of a level. It took me forever to beat him / it was easy and only took one attempt, but I was pounding on him for a good 10 minutes.

He wasn't low level, 25 but wasn't hard to beat. Still the quest was lvl 11 and you got like 5xp or something stupid. But to unlock it you have a lvl 20 something and then a lvl 30. Stupid.

Found a $10 Amazon gift card in my desk drawer at home.

Decided to try Titanfall 2 on sale for 36 so it's like a 25 dollar game now lol

Ghost Recon beta this weekend. Looks promising.
It looks really cool, but I have a feeling it'll be a far cry 3 clone.  From what I'm reading you're on a big island and have compounds to blow up, right?  I don't know what makes that any different than most other games.

Finished Witcher 3 - I'll give it a solid B-.  Parts of it I really enjoyed, parts of it I was soooo bored and was wishing I was done. As I mentioned in another post, the pacing is just really bad. You hit what I consider to be the best part of the game, then you immediately follow that with doing things that I don't give a #### about.  For every cool quest like the witches of crookback bog, I had to spend time putting on a play. Not only did I put on a play, I had to go get security and people to hand out flyers. Wtf was that?

I used to play games with longer cutscenes like the final fantasy games and stuff like that. Nowadays I'm realizing I much prefer my games to have their story be inferred (dark souls series) or given out during actual gameplay (portal games).  I just have little to no desire to see cutscenes or interactive dialogue or whatever. By the end of this, I just clicked the yellow chat option immediately which moves the story forward - didn't care at all about the extra dialogue.

I can't stand long cut scenes.  I thought the original Bioshock told a fantastic story with out significant intrusions in game play.

Almost done myself and totally agree, I'd rate a C/C+ at this point. Bethesda's way of story telling is what I prefer, not many cutscenes and they are short. You can talk to way more people and it seemed much more immersive than the forced cutscenes in this game. One other thing I don't like is that your in game choices aren't always exactly clear cut in terms of the outcome.

Actually I liked this part. In fallout and Skyrim and such, the ramifications are always so obvious - you either do the good option or bad option. I thought it was kind of neat here where you make your decision with the info you have, and whatever happens is what happens.  It made the story seem bigger than just what I was doing.

Not really IMO since if I do what I think is right it could be a bad decision for the end of the game. If you help Ciri too much she can die, she's your "daughter" and you'd always help them in any type of life or death situation, but if you do help her it's a negative to the game.

Oh BTW the Iron Maiden side quest was fun :)

Looks like a mix of GTA, FC and a bit of MGSV.   I don't need it to reinvent the wheel, just be fun to play with my friends.  The fact that it's 4 player co-op and a TPS puts it in another league than FC for me.

4 player co-op is actually a deterrent for me, and I fear that it's necessary to get the full enjoyment.  I'd say 99% of my video game playing is while my wife is studying or sleeping.  If that's the case, it's hard for me to call out or plan things.  I keep headphones plugged in and listen to team chatter on R6, but don't say anything unless it's absolutely necessary to win the round.

My wife still gives me crap about walking in on me playing battlefield bad company with a friend and hearing me say "stay down!  You need to stay alive so I can spawn on your back!"  She gave an awkward look and left the room.

Yup. Reload
Tried to go to Reload the level, but I've been just using auto save. It won't let me restart the mission and I can't finish the mission without getting a hold of the glitch underneath the stairs. I'm gonna have to start the whole damn game over. 47 hours down the drain.

I've been reading on message boards that a lot of people are pissed off at the developers of Dishonored 2 Because you can't restart a mission. It's supposed to be a new feature coming out soon

I've used the restart mission option a few times. I think it was part of the latest patch, wasn't it?

I think we may have found the problem.  It looks like you might be doing everything twice.

Yes, and its great.  Part of it is my being from SF Bay area but it's one of the best open world games I've played.
That's great news. I'm really looking forward to it. Have you played against anyone? Any invader hackers or anything? Does there seem to be a lot of cheaters? Cheaters kind of spoiled multi player in the original imo.

I mainly focused on single player. People tried to hack me a few times but it seemed easy enough to spot them. No idea about cheaters.

Almost done with Witcher 3 and really hate just about every single NPC. Ciri and Tris are about the only tolerable ones. Everyone else is a giant douche....wish I could kill them all.

ETA #### this cutscene bull#### during a fight.

Also still curious if anyone knows of the GR co-op is split screen or online only.
pretty sure split screen coop is dead.

Ghost Recon has been pretty fun... beat all the missions that were available in about 2.5-3 hrs.  Still pretty buggy on some stuff, but it was fun.

Finished W3 and on to the DLC. Thoughts:

-Significantly better than the other Witchers

-90% Characters I couldn't give a #### about

-90% NPCs not being killable sucks. Hard. If someone spits on me, they deserve a beat down at min.

-Cut scenes in the middle of the fight sucks richards

-Way way too many cutscenes makes the game slow and for all the awesomeness of the story (it was meh) I couldn't care less about any of the characters. Ciri, Triss and in the first DLC Shani so far. Everyone else can go DIAF.

-Ramifications of the end story not playing out after the fact sucks. Novigrad should reflect the outcome of the game, not the same as the entire game.Skellige was about the only place where your deeds are pseudo remembered

-I greatly underestimated the power of Aard, wow.

-Fast travel is completely broken IMO

-Mini map is a distraction, I found myself looking more at the minimap trying to figure out where to go than the actual screen.

Overall 100% worth the 30 or so bucks it cost me, but definitely prefer games like DA, FO and ES.

Hooked up my 360 over the weekend...  decided the next game I want to play is Splinter Cell Blacklist which I bought used for like $2, but got my XB1 immediately after and never played the game. I looove splinter cell games - possibly my favorite series having beaten the the other 5 games multiple times (beaten Chaos Theory probably 6x).

Also updated my rosters for NCAA football and it still holds up really well.
