video tape to CD (1 Viewer)

Video 8 to a CD. Have some family stuff that I'd like to transfer. Thing is, have some junk on video that would like to erase or not include on the CD.

Any experience out there on this? Appears there is some stuff out there claiming I can do it with my computer & a package they sell. Thanks for your help on this generally non-important request.

Local photo shop (think Wal-mart & Costco as well) should be able to do this. Get them to dump everything onto DVD then you can edit it after.

Do you have the video 8 camera and a newer camera? You may be able to go video out from the video 8 camera into the video in of your newer camera. Then record the video into the new camera. Then digitize the footage from the new camera.

I have something I bought at Best Buy that works nicely

It hooks your VCR up to a computer and you go from there. You can record anything you want and skip over anything you want

Ill see if I can find what Im talking about

ETA: Found it. I have had no issues but seems like ratings are low
