Vikings looking to move into the top 3 (1 Viewer)

No way the top 2 are still there at 7.

Regarding M. Williams...you don't like the lack of speed thing, huh?

I like the end-zone production thing that he brings to the table.
Agree, the top 2 will be gone at #7. As far as Mike Williams, I have been player hat'n on him so long now, I cannot turn back. :( But the speed is a big deal to me. Culpepper can zing the ball 80 yards, but if our fastest receiver can only cover 60 yards in 5 seconds, Culpepper might as well have 75% of the arm he does now.

I like Mike Williams, he will ge the job done. If Burleson had 4.4x speed, I would rather see Minnesota take Mike Williams. So I am kind of hung up on the speed thing.
Don't they have some guy on the team (spacin' his name :bag: ) who can get downfield in a hurry? W/ Burleson and Williams takin gth eunderneath/post/outs/etc. they hjave a third guy to throw in there who can get downfield. Also, as I recall, even though he isn't a burner, Burleson caught some deep balls from C-Pepp after Moss went down.Separation is key, speed = overated.

Call it an educated guess/hunch, but I really believe IF the Vikings moved to #3 in a trade w/ Cleveland, it would be to take Ronnie Brown.  They've realized you can't get it done tying up a ton of $ in a WR.  One of the biggest favors they could do for their defense is to get a workhorse RB, where they can control the ball with their improved defense.  If they don't feel like they'll get Ced Benson or Ronnie Brown at #7, I think they'll trade up.  I don't think Caddy Williams is an option.  From a PR standpoint (if they draft a RB), they need to ship Bennett to the Cards for a 3rd rd pick.
Oh yeah, of all teams looking to trade UP to select a RB, the Vikings, with the largest stable of viable starting RBs in the league, are the ones to do it.

The Vikings need another RB like they need a hole in the head.
Yeah. 'Cuz they're the only team in the league with four RBs on the roster. :wall: :loco:

Sarcasm: How can the Bears even consider drafting a RB when they have Thomas Jones, Anthony Thomas, and Adrian Peterson on the roster? How can the Bucs even consider drafting a RB when they have Pittman, Garner, and White on the roster?

News flash - THE RBS ON THE VIKINGS ROSTER ARE NOT THAT GOOD.
I disagree. Bennett if Healthy can be very productive. Moore played fairly well for a rookie thrown into the mix, O-Smith is the best all around back IMO and should start... So slate 5 RB spots for the team now? Or cut one of the promising good RB's they have? Not likely unless a gift falls to them in their second pick (not likely).

WR makes sense for teh Vikes, but best player available on teh defensive side wouldn't hurt either for depth.

Kelly Campbell...he is having some legal issues at this time. Burleson did catch some deep balls, but they were of the 40 to 50 yard variety. I think speed is overated at some positions, but at defensive back and wide receiver, speed is very critical. It is not the only thing, but it is a big thing.

Are you seriously comparing the Vikings RB's to the Bears RB's?

Tell ya what -- go compare the stats, watch tape of some Vikings games, and come back to me. The Vikings have FOUR guys on their roster who have put up excellent numbers as starting RBs. The Bears have 1 or 2, at most.

For what it's worth, I would be equally shocked to see the Bears TRADE UP to take a back.

Bennett is never healthy, Moore played four games and got banged up and Onterrio is inevitably (this pains me to say) going to be suspended for a year. They are all question marks. I think Andy put it best; "If we could pick and choose among our four backs and make one super back...we would be set. But having to use four roster spots for four guys when only one of them can be on the field at one time is very inefficient.I think Andy also pointed out that the Vikings are the only team in the NFL to carry four running backs on the roster.

Bennett isn't healthy and never will be the same player again after the injuries. His game is built on straight ahead speed - something that he doesn't have at the level he did when he first entered the league.Smith is a headcase. He's one strike away from league suspension. You simply cannot count on that.

Moore played just okay.
