Vincent Jackson - Do You Like Him Week 6? (1 Viewer)

With Chambers most likely missing the game, do you like Vincent Jackson this week?

Chambers isn't much more than a TD threat for the Chargers. Rivers has tried to hit Jackson deep a few times for a score this season but failed. Do you think this is the breakout week his owners have been waiting for?

w/ Gates & LT banged up, NE is really going to focus on VJax... I'm very interested to see how Jackson does this week... he should Rivers #1 target; this could be a statement game for him.

Jackson is dealing with injuries himself.

He practiced Friday and is reportedly good to go. I'm more concerned that he will draw a majority of the coverage and really disappoint this weekend.

Reported by whom?
(TheHuddle) The North County Times, reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 10. He is listed as probable for the team's Week 6 game.Analysis: With No. 1 receiver Chris Chambers also ailing, the Chargers desperately need Jackson on the field to take the pressure off the injured Ladainian Tomlinson and the Charger running game. Expect Jackson to be a No. 3 receiver for fantasy teams this week.

If you don't have any better options, V. Jackson is a serviceable WR3 play this week. I own him but don't expect too much and will play Colston over him.

The Pats secondary has played very well against Rivers in the past and I doubt that changes this week.

i was going to start him as a WR4 in a league over chad ocho cinco. (desean jackson, lance moore and jerricho cotchery are the other WRs)

I have to start him since Roddy White will be a gametime decision because of a stupid collision in practice this week, and I will be on the road, unable to switch lineups. I'm not "expecting" much from VJax either, but I am hopeful e can make 1 or 2 big plays, and if lucky, find the endzone on one of them.

Jackson's a good play this week simply due tot eh circumstance. With Chambers out Rivers is a good enough QB to get VJax the ball. LT's playing hurt and they're gonna need Rivers to throw it as usual. The Patriots may contain him some but simply from targets he'll get the stats this week.

Yes, I'm bias as I'm starting him, but it's over the likes of Lance Moore or Camarillo so it's not like it's areach for me. :(

Not to be rude but ... Do you really think NE is game planning to stop Vincent Jackson rather than Gates and Tomlinson? No really ... Is that what you think?Injured or not I'm pretty sure the focus will be LT, Gates, Sproles and Phillip Rivers. Vincent Jackson ... not so much.

:lmao: I agree, the Patriots have plenty of things to worry about with LT, Gates, etc. Jackson will get plenty of balls thrown to him and likely get a score and 60-100 yards while Chambers is out.

Last yr, Jackson went 100+ and a TD against NE in the playoffs

VJ is a #2 WR, not a true #1. This is why the Chargers drafted Davis and traded for Chambers. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think he plays that well in the #1 WR role. He needs Chambers, Gates, and LT to create openings for him. Having all 3 dinged up may create opportunity, but also creates responsibility. VJ isn't a WR to carry a team.

I kind of agree with the previous poster that said the Chargers will be waiting yet again to win one of these "revenge" games against the Patriots. The team never seems to be close to 100% when they meet.

Should be that random week where Davis, Naanee, or Floyd is the WR to have. I hope Rivers can play like he did the first 3 weeks instead of the guy that's played the last 2. Need his mojo back in a big way.

VJ is a very nice play this week. He already leads SD in targets (30), receptions (17), and receiving yds (302), he just hasnt been able to get in the endzone as much as Chambers. With Chambers not playing, that just means more targets which should lead to more receptions (and FF pts as well).

But Jackson is clearly a go-to WR for Rivers, and even more-so with Chambers out. Nice WR2/3 in a 10 team league.

I think those two acquisitions had more to do with opportunity to upgrade and add quality depth to their WR corps more than it did about Jackson. VJ may never be a reliable #1 (although he sure looked like he could be at the end of last season and during the playoffs), but his play will be the indicator, not the other people that are drafted and traded for.
