Vincent Starter/Sitters (1 Viewer)

I was hesitant to start VJ before I heard Floyd was out, then I rolled with him after the news rolled out and loving every point he awarded me in both my leagues.

The only thing that could have been better then watching that performance would be to watch my competition screaming at his TV :)

I sat him for Britt. I really had to see one good game out of him before I could start him with confidence. For all I knew, with so few SD receivers healthy, VJax would have been blanketed or gone out on the 4th play with that calf. Such is life. :)

I played against him tonight, which sucked.

At least I got some pretty good points from Kaeding and the SD d/st.

I saw him sitting there on wavers today and snatched him up. I plugged him in 30 minutes before the game when I saw the news about Gates and Floyd. Damn glad I did. 34 points! yeah, baby! :moneybag:

First week of the playoffs and I'm sure my opponent will be sweating bullets the rest of the week. :gang2:

Had Floyd in earlier this week ... swapped him out for Britt this morning ... swapped Britt out for VJax when Floyd was declared inactive. Went from being projected to lose to having a shot against a stacked team!

My choices at WR are better than most in a 12 man league

starting 3

Andre Johnson

Hakeem Nicks

Greg Jennings

Terrell Owens

Kenny Britt

Greg Jennings

Vincent Jackson

Vincent was probably the last guy I was going to start this week given my other choices but I did waiver when I heard Floyd and Gates were out. Unfortunately I didnt act on those feelings and insert him. I still may have a nice game out of these other guys but other than Andre Johnson I doubt any of the others could put up these kind of points this week. Vincent might lead the league at WR this week with TD's scored.

Who Knew? apparently some of you guys did the way you are patting yourselves on the back.

Decided at the last minute to start him over Austin, Holmes, and Ward. Hopefully, he can cancel out VD's no-show last night.

In other words: BRAG

Started him in both leagues I have him in . With Branch and Austin and over Steve Johnson and Sidney Rice in one. (Can flex)

With Nicks in the other and over Britt, Collie, Steve Johnson, and Santonio Holmes. (Only start 2). Really agonized in this one. A lot of good options here. Had Britt in until a half hour before kickoff. The news of Floyd being out really pushed me into starting VJax.

Plugged him in after hearing gates out (whom I put on the bench then) and floyd. Started him alongside Nicks and benched Mike Wallace, Brandon Marshall, and Austin Collie

I was in a similar position. Can start 4 WR's in a 12 team.Roddy WhiteAndre JohnsonCalvin JohnsonMike Williams TBMario ManninghanVincent JacksonI thought about putting him in over Mike Williams, but I couldn't pull the trigger. There's no way I could start him over my top 3 though.

He's the reason I didn't win our Survivor contest in my main league when he pulled up lame after one play that first week back. Figured I wouldn't start him until he had a decent week, I'd say that was decent. Hopefully I'm still alive after this week and can think about starting him in the league Superbowl. At least one consolation is that I'll have him as a cheap keeper for next year after carrying his useless butt (until last night) all year.

Players I started over him:

WR: AJ

WR: Nicks

Flex: McFadden

Similar situation for me and i was playing against the Rivers owner so while it stung a bit last night, I can't really see sitting one of the guys that I have been playing that have been doing really well (would have had to sit either AJ or Wayne). So, at the end of the day it would have been nice to get the points. Double nice to completely offset his QB. But realistically, I'm hoping that the guys I left in will keep doing what they have been doing because I have been scoring a lot with those guys each week.On a side note, a guy in one of my leagues apparently chose Michael crabtree and Jabar gaffney BOTH over VJAX last night. I imagine that had to be torture to watch Crabtree be non existent as VJAX lit it up.

My original 3 were Randy Moss, TO, and Miles Austin. Getting Bowe when he was down, and TO playing well saved my season. But going into the playoffs this week TO decided to throw his coach under the bus.

When I heard Floyd and Gates were out I decided to roll the dice.

Got lucky. It's all luck anyway.

I did the exact same thing, might be the greatest same day waiver wire move I've ever made.

I wouldn't have started him either over those guys. I started Vj over Hines Ward and Seattle Mike Williams, a lot easier to do.

Let me ask you and I mean this sincerely, what size league are you in? Do you have a small roster size?I am in some 12 and 14 team leagues and he's been off the waiver wire for virtually months. To think that you could just go to the waiver wire to pick up Vjax 30 mins before this game is mind boggling to me.

I wasn't considering him at all, I thought Mike Williams Seattle was the better play, until I read that Gates and Floyd were out. I then picked up Britt and realized he played Houston, so I think to myself, "Money." Then I put Vjax in because, "Of course he will be option number one, #######." Then I say, Vjax has too much uncertainty, and Britt has had another game under his belt.

Stayed with the Britt/BMW option. FML. The only saving grace was that my opponent was at work and did not see that Floyd was out, so he started him. He emailed me (I'm the commish) asking if he could sub since Floyd was a late scratch and he was stuck at work. I hated to be that guy, but I've never let anyone sub in after kickoff unless they documented the request via email before that time when they couldn't get to our MFL site.

:banned: and

I started VJ as my WR3 and my opponent started Tolbert and Sproles. VJ doubled the output of both RB's, great start for the weekend!

There are a few VJax owners who feel relief today. Justified in their pick/pick up. It's been 15 weeks of waiting and taking shots from non VJax owners. Last night we all felt good about it.

I can't speak for other owners, but the timing couldn't have been better. All is forgiven now after 14 weeks of nothing.

Started him in my dynasty league

And was pleasantly surprised that my opponent in my local keep 2 league didn't start him

Yes and yes. 8 team league with a short bench. He was drafted in the usual spot before the season and dropped early after he held out. He sat on the wire for most of the season until I picked him up after he said he was coming back. I held him on my bench thru his suspension and I plugged him in the week he went out with the bum ankle/groin with zero catches. I dropped him as I needed solid depth for the upcoming playoffs and he sat on the waiver wire again until I picked him up yesterday afternoon. Since it's the playoffs only 4 teams had a chance to pick him up off waivers this week and they were all stacked at receiver and wouldn't have reasonably started him. My receivers were weak and I needed to take the chance. Glad I did...

Has start three out of Megatron, TO, Santonio Holmes, VJax, and BMW. Normally, have been starting the first three and Vjax screwed me a couple of weeks ago with his first play injury, but with Sanchez playing like crap and going up against the Steelers, I decided to bench Holmes for VJax....pretty glad I did.

Dropped him when he pulled a hammy on his first game back and picked up Super Mario while Nicks heeled on my bench ... oh well S#$t happens.

Don't normally brag, but this was a fun one. A team in the league drafted him and named his team On Vincent Jacksons Hand, he got fed up with him after his injury and dropped him. I snagged him on waivers, plugged him in and who did I play in round one of the playoffs.......Vincent Jacksons Hand.............so if I hold on for a win, it will be both ironinc and painful for him.

:excited:

Started VJax and the SD DST!! Playing the 14-1 Team in the Semi-Finals!!!!

Was going to play him or Floyd (was going back and forth between teh 2 all week) but once they announced that Floyd was out I put VJax in with confidence. :coffee:

benched Stevie Johnson and Mike Wallace to play him..

Up 49-0 going into the weekend ....nice way to start :pickle:

Inserted him over M Williams TB. Was happy with the results after the 1st qtr no less. Who'd a thunk 29pts in a std scoring league?

Wow

I'm in a 12 team, short-roster league of 15 players.

The team that drafted him and hung on to him the entire season finally started him for the 1st time last night.

I guess he deserves it, holding on to dead weight for so long...
