Violent Movement In Defensive Rankings (top 250) (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any info on this?

I mean, since Friday, Atlanta and Tennessee shoot through the roof going forward in the top 250 rankings and the Patriots drop like a rock?

Absent a slew of injuries I would expect much more consistency from team defensive rankings going forward, at least over the span of 4 days.

It's not like the defense can find its way into the coach's doghouse and lose playing time to another player.

I guess I'm smarting just a bit because I picked up the Patriots (after doing alot of my own homework too) based in part on last week's Top 250 rankings.

Turns out I guess I made a huge mistake. ??

After three weeks it's obvious the NE secondary is one of the worse in the NFL. Palmer and Fitzpatrick (what?) torched them back to back weeks. NE is gonna have to score alot this year to win...and they will. But they are not a top 10 defense.

Even between Tuesday afternoon and Wed morning the rankings seemed to change. I was shocked to see SD at (5) for week 4 this morning, even though they were ranked at (8) for week 4, behind Indy (at 4) and Atlanta (at 7).

I think alot happens in the first few weeks with regards to new players settling in, new coaches, new schemes, and of course, Strength of Schedule.

You might have thought WOW! NYG kicked butt week 1, but coming on week 4 you realize CAR wasn't 'all that.' You might have still been high on CIN passing offense after week 1 garbage time vs. NE, but have a different point of view with Palmer's accuracy all over the place.

I'd venture a guess that the DEF rankings begin to settle down.

Give up 30 points to the Buffalo Bills, fall in the defensive rankings.
