Volek and KC (1 Viewer)

For those who saw the game it seems pretty likely that Green will miss at least a few weeks (though we can't know).

Volek to KC seems like a no-brainer. What do you guys think?

You're jumping the gun.
I remember people on fantasy football forums in 2001 making the "jumping hte gun" arguement when Edgerrin James suffered a "minor" knee injury. I grabbed Dominic Rhodes immediately. About two days later, the injury suddenly changed and he was done for the year with the ACL injury. Rhodes helped lead me to a title that year.So no, its not too early to speculate on if Volek would be a good fit in KC.

IF Green is out, maybe. Tenn has reportedly been shopping Volek and he would be at the very top of the list of QB's who can be had at this point in the season.

HUGE difference : Volek isn't even on KC's team, while Rhodes was the clear backup for the Colts, it didn't take a real genius to pick up Rhodes.

:goodposting: It was likely nothing more than a concussion and he misses a week. Hopefully it isn't anything more serious.
Green will be back. Concussions aren't knee injuries. Forget Volek. If they are making any calls, it's to Willy Roaf, and it's on the red phone..
You're damn right on the "Red Phone" because Trent Green woke up saying "I'm Batman!" The commisioner was calling Robin - aka Roaf - at the Bat Cave on the Bat Phone saying, "Robin, hurry! We need your help!"

As a KC homer, if Green is out or .....possibly done, no QB is going to save the season. Volek doesnt even know the offense. You cant just go pickup a QB and then say "go win us a game in Denver"

For my two cents I would much rather see Brodie Croyle over Huard or any other QB. We drafted the guy in the 3rd round. And you NE fans may shoot me for saying this, but just because Croyle is a rookie doesnt mean he cant lead this team to success. If Brady can do it, I think Croyle could.

Brady wasn't a rookie.

Meant Big Ben, but it applies in both siuations.....and whats more Croyle ran teh KC offense in ALA.

It may just be a concussion but you do have to remember he's taken a lot of shots in his career being a 36 year old quarterback so it would obviously effect him more than it would a mid to late 20s QB.

Was Kurt Warner a rookie? Or just a grocery clerk?

KC has a week 3 bye. If they can get Huard or anyone for 1 week, Green could have nearly 3 full weeks rest and be back for the game on Oct. 1.

Volek wants a big contract, and he wants to be the starter somewhere. KC won't be willing to pay or play him for more than 1 game unless it's determined that Green is, in fact, out for the season.

Hmmm...Tennessee and Kerry Collins comes to mind. You see where that got Tennessee.

Being in KC, no insider rumors though, my first thoughts after the hit was that Volek would be a good fit. Then Huard started to look OK and had a radar lock on Tony Gonzalez in garbage time (great for Tony G owners) AND seemed more or less accurate with a decent arm and some mobility. Given the state of the OL I was actually slightly optimistic as a mobile QB might be more effective anyway.

Then I noticed that Huard doesn't protect the football to go with a poor pocket presence and will not be a long-term solution if that continues. Until replaced however, I am optomistic for Tony G atleast to be productive as this could become a team playing from behind A LOT.
