W7 Game Thread - Detroit v NY Jets (1 Viewer)

By the stats I can see Det' is running the ball. Roy Williams has i Rec. Is he being covered that well?

Just targeted near the end zone....incomplete..? Bad pass/Rec...?

It's a mix of good coverage and not so good throws, as he has 5 or 6 targets. He did well to get one hand on the end zone pass about the height of the crossbar. A bit lower, that might have been his 2nd TD of the day.

tough catch yeah but he looked a little annoyed on the sidelines like he thought he could have had it

Anyone have the number to the Lions sideline?

If they want to win this game, just run Jones.. Why the try these stupid outs and deep balls to gets I never heard of is beyond me.

This one goes over 42. As I said here, Jets/Lions over 42 was the closest thing to a lock you'll see this year. I wouldn't be surprised (actually, I expect) the Lions to come down and challenge for another TD. But with a 2-TD cushion, things are looking good for the Jets here.

Coles with a nice block on Jamar Fletcher, the worst CB in the league, to help spring the Washington TD.

Leon looks fantastic today.

is Coles playing ???
Yes. He's been targeted several tims.
bad throws or drops?
No drops. Not really bad throws either. He's been double covered for most of the game. He had one nice play where he got open but the corner took him out of the play with a penalty. A few others Pennington forced it into too tight a window. Coles looks good, not injured if that's your concern.
Thanks for that information. I was wondering myself if the injury was causing him some problems.
Did Rhodes get hurt in this game? Nice INT, but no tackles -- what give?

Rhodes almost had an INT three plays ago.

Decent challenge here. There's an agrument that the ball moved and was an INC. I don't think it will get overturned, but worth a challenge.

2:22 to go, Detroit has 1 TO left.

If the Jets want to run it three times, that means the Lions will get the ball back with 0 TO left, down by 7, with the ball at around their own 30, with 1:10 to go.

Not sure if that's a dire enough situation to mean the Jets should avoid passing the ball.

AFC EAST

Patriots: 5-1

Jets: 4-3

Bills: 2-5

Dolphins: 1-5
still a tough road to the playoffs, but you gotta love the improvement. Add a few key pieces in the offseason (outside pass rusher, Nose Tackle, maybe right tackle) and the jets could really make some noise. Definetly holding out hope for the wild card though

Important win today. A win against Cleveland next week gives the Jets a legitimate shot at 10-6, and 9-7 becomes a very likely possibility.
