W7 Game Thread - Washington v Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

stockton calls it a "good hit"?! santana was nowhere near the play and the guy lined him up and leveled him!
5 yard bump. Football is a contact sport, Moss should pay attention at all times.
  There was a fumble on the play and Moss turned around to watch Brunell dive at the fumble. Then the CB came up and blindsided him. 5 yard bump is when you try to jam a WR and the line when hes trying to get by you.

wow that was a pathetic punt coverage there, no one in the middle at all

i also love how randle el kept looking back to see if anyone was coming showing absolutey no concern over the punter

OK, then the defender becomes a blocker. Still a legal hit.

Upon seeing the replays, it was more than Smith just can't do anything. The move wasn't so sick. I'm half watching this and half writing my game summary and it looked better upon first glance.

Man, that Hunter Smith is a magoo.

 The play was over! Brunell had already dived back on the ball and was down. Since when is blindsiding someone 15 yards away from the ball when the play is over a good hit?

Sick move but you cant make an openfield tackle on a guy coming at you backpedeling. You stand your ground, force him to make a move and go for the waist.

Was the play over? Had the whistle blown? Serious questions I watched it without sound.

On one hand I'm pissed off at Moss for taking that penalty and costing us 3 points, but on the other hand the CB did totally blindside him with a total cheap shot so I can understand him being upset.
If the NFL REALLY wanted to improve instant replay, and gamesmanship in general, they'd run a 'booth review' every time an on-field incident like that occurs, to get the whole story on what happens. If it's legit, nail the offending party. If it was provoked, call offsetting penalties. In any Pro League, not just the NFL, those calls are absolutely bush league, when 9 times out of 10 what's called as an infraction isn't the incident that incited a retaliatory strike. Mr Excitement, Randle-El. Nice play, man!

LMAO at Aikman saying the punter should have tackled him. I'd like to see Aikman try to tackle Antwan Randle El in the open field running full steam. What a doofus.

I know that was ridiculous. There was no one within ten yards of Randle from behind. All he had to do was break right to the sideline at any point and the punter would have no shot of catching him. He didn't even need to juke the kicker.

turned my back for a sec and see the KO from the 5...wtf? how many penalties were there? excessive celebration in the EZ I saw...but from the 5?

dear peyton,

throw to marvin harrison. dallas clark is not your only target today, as you seem to think. thank you.

p.s. if i'm brunell, i'm watching my back...the skins are taking shots an peyton, wouldn't be surprised if freeney or osmeone goes off on brunell at least once. no wonder the skins are the most penalized/yards team in the nfl. edit to add that, yes, that call was shaky...still, brunell might be in trouble. the skins seem to want to batter peyton as much as possible, which is fine, cause it's football, but...

If by "taking shots" you mean "trying to tackle him because he has the ball" then yes.

The referee is standing right there staring at his feet and he couldnt see 1 foot was out of bounds? Wow some of these guys are blind.

Shawn Springs looked terrible on pass defense on that TD to Harrison.

Portis out hurt, left knee, up walking around on sideline now.
