TE thoughts:

Serafian-Jenkins

Clay Harbor

Rodgers (GB)

Jace Amaro

Anyone like any more than the other? Anyone I am missing?

Out of that list, Serafian-Jenkins. Heath Miller is also still available in my 12 team league, so I'd put him above those listed if he's available.

I was telling another board member in PM earlier I was closely watching Clay Harbor.

This past week was his "first week back" from injury and they were expecting to ease him in.

Well he played in over 60 snaps, and went 8 for 8/69 yards.

This smells an awful lot like one of those "rookie QB to practice squad friend TE" scenarios, and all too often the rookie QBs dump off a ton.

Lets face it, from memory I believe that even Marcedes Lewis was having respectable numbers so far until he got injured, though that was with Henne.

Now I'm not saying for everyone to go grab the guy, but in most leagues the wire has pretty much zero for TE talent.... its just desolate.

I lost all my tight ends to injury (Pitta and Rudolph in various leagues) and I am currently starting ERTZ in one league.

If Ertz stinks it up again this week, and Harbor gets 8+ targets again (and catches them/does well) I will promptly get Harbor and put Ertz back on the wire.

Might was to look at Luke Wilson in Seattle with Zach Miller out. Miller is a pro but Wilson has a ton more pass catching and seam stretching potential. Keep in mind that Seattle's offense is a bit limiting to TEs.

For me, the backup has to move into a more favorable position. If the starter didn't rock, it usually doesn't pan out for me to make moves like this

Is clay harbor losing his gig when Lewis returns?

Are there enough balls in tb for SJ?

Amaro seems like he should be used but geno and Vick both seem not good for him.

I need a TE this week with Jimmy G on bye, between Miller vs Dallas who have give up the most points to TE, or Harbor. Leaning Harbor in case Jimmy is misses any time with his shoulder, I think seattle will handle Dallas with not much passing at home

WIth Kelce on bye and Pitta out, looks like I'm starting Tamme and hoping for the random Peyton check-down.

Any thoughts on Brian Leonhardt? He's not even covered by FBGuys.

ERIC EBRON is pretty much available everywhere.

I don't know how much I like the guy long term.(at least not yet)

But with Megatron out, both Detroit RBs banged up and the entire Detroit offense basically in chaos currently, I think if I were desperate I might have to give Ebron a look.

He had a TD called back in the 1st quarter last week.

I picked him up in one league where I am desperate for the short term.

When Calvin Johnson comes back, I don't think I would like this scenario as much.

I'm trying to decide between

Dwayne Allen ( red zone favourite )

Reed ( if fit )

ASJ ( didn't show anything last week unfort. )

Ebron ( not much else left on Lions O )

Wright ( last week sign of things to come consistently ? )

Clay ( knee got back to level he will be fully effective this week ? )

Harbor ( just going off others on here )

for this week with Graham on a bye.

Leaning towards Reed if he fully practises today, and if he doesn't then will be shoving in Dwayne Allen just before the game tonight. Worried about Allen doing mainly blocking on Watt tonight though. Tbh, very indecisive about this week.

This might be a situation you can watch closely, and wait until SUNDAY to actually make a move.

I'm scared of Jordan Reed to be honest, and he is sitting on the wire in one competitive league I'm in currently.

I like the end zone looks you are getting from Dwayne Allen, but I agree tonight he will have a face full of J.J. Watt from the looks of it.

I think I would watch Jordan Reed, and unless everything looks good Sunday, plug Ebron in at the last minute and basically hope for the best.

This would at least give you a choice on Sunday. :)

Good luck,

No, Allen is a much better blocker but Fleener is improving.

Reed is clearly the class of this list. Allen is a very strong red zone target but is topping out at about 40 yards a game. Ebron could be good for this week if Calvin sits, but has a brutal schedule for TE production going forward.

Besides Reed and Allen, Harbor actually strikes me as a decent choice. It's a low-point offense, but Jacksonville has good to excellent matchups for TEs for the next five week, all the way up to the bye. Low ceiling, but a better chance than most to have a 4 or 5 catch day.

Clay has a ton of upside, too. If he's healthy and more integrated into the offense following the bye, he could quickly return to being the #2 target on that team.

Who knows with Wright. It's Belichick so it's not easy to predict. Last week is a good sign but I think he's more likely to catch 1 for 10 this week than he is to repeat.

How could Allen have any time to block? All he does is catch TDs. :-)

Looking for a one-week fill-in for Kelce, and this is reminding me a lot of last year's fantasy playoffs, when I was trying to replace Gronk on the fly. IIRC, I snatched up every WW TE available (Lewis, RGriffin, Quarless etc) and was agonizing over which one to start. Then I realized when you're dealing with replacement level TEs, there's no point in overthinking it. You're flipping a coin at that point.

I'll probably go Harbor this week (other options are Amaro, ASJ and Wilson) but I have zero expectations.

I am in the same boat with Kelce. I am going Charles Clay. I can see the GB pass rush forcing some quicker passes. Heck for a buy week fill in I will take a 4-30-1 stat line.

Jared Cook. Tough matchup against SF, but he is a target hog and should be good for some check-down sugar.

I'm going with Dwayne Allen. I resisted picking him up last week over Niles Paul and it cost me. Guy is one of their top Redzone looks -- he doens't get enough targets to have a huge game but hopefully he hauls in another one.

Need Vernon Davis to stop being a candyass and get back on the field.

Any thoughts on Tim Wright?
I just traded J. Hill to the G. Bernard owner for him. I really like his upside with NE showing a bit of that 2TE offense they used to dominate with. And, god-forbid Gronk goes down again, Wright is in a good place to jump to TE1 territory.I'm riding him this week with Kelce on bye, and Rudolph out.

If you are riding Wright this week, Belicheck just screwed you with his recent comments on Wright. "Nobody works harder than Tim Wright". That is Belicheckian for "He'll be inactive on game days." Sorry.

Would be literally the worst move in Patriots history. Timmy brings too much to this offense to not see his usage go up.

Breakdown of Wrights impact on the offense against the Bengals.

After last year, I swore I would never come close to using this guy, but he is indeed getting a lot of targets these days.

With Graham on a bye and Cameron and Ertz doing nothing, he might be worth a start.
