Waiver Wire & FAAB Discussion - Week 11 (2 Viewers)

Estime, but I don't trust it.
Agreed - I would have to see another week of him getting the lion's share of the rushing work. He seems to be a non-event in the passing game, so the ceiling could be capped in PPR leagues, but could be a good bye week fill-in if he's getting a lot of work (including at the goal line).

Mia WR Malik Washington - if Tyreek's wrist issue is worse than communicated, and the Miami offense re-engaging to ignite

GB RB Chris Brooks
- potential Plan to "save" Josh Jacobs for playoffs and reduce his touches / Lloyd on IR / Brooks showed promise in Miami preseason

QB
Russ in 1QB leagues (28% owned on sleeper)

RB
Estime (7%),
Benson (26%),
Edwards (Desperate flex or handcuff),
Singletary (handcuff),
Corum (handcuff)

WR
AD Mitchell (saw volume with no Pittman),
Pierce (all boom or bust),
Vele (caught a TD and played the most snaps hes had all year)
Mack Hollins (completely dependent on Amari and Keon still being out)
Metchie (if Nico is still out)

TE - All dart throws
Friermuth
J Sanders
Davis Allen
Will Dissly
Knox (forgot about Kincaid possibly being out)

For deep bench leagues:

Keaton Mitchell - no threat to King Henry, but Harbaugh talked of a "three headed monster" (not sure I believe that by any stretch) and they may want to scale back Henry's involvement with the playoffs in mind. If Keaton is back at 100%, wouldn't take a lot of touches to have some value. And this is an offense you want pieces of (excluding Diontae).

Kayshon Boutte - the numbers aren't there yet, but targets are starting to rise and he's on the field all the time. With Maye showing promise, wouldn't be the worst thing to be attached to him if he's looking Boutte's way more and more.

Trey Benson is intriguing me this week.
He's on a bye next week, but wouldn't surprise me if he gets more touches down the stretch with Arizona eyeing the playoffs. The offense still is anchored around Conner though, so have to think they'll ride him as much as possible.
As a Conner owner, I keep adding him every week, then dropping him at the very end of the week to deal with other issues. So far it hasn't bitten me in the butt. This week I'm a bit nervous I wont get him back. Making him a priority add. Word is getting out.

Good idea. Early on the season, Benson was being criticized (whether fairly or unfairly) but the game seems to be slowing down for him and the results are showing.

With a bunch of byes, I’m personally focused on finding a starter at Running back for week 12 as well as adding depth/upside

Own Speares but not sure about his usage Sunday, so looking for guys with some week 12 upside. The pickings are slim.

Estime
Mattison
Charbonnet
Benson
Akers
Edwards

I’m likely throwing substantial FAAB at Estime and crossing my fingers he keeps getting the usage.

I love Washington's talent, but in redraft I don't see any scenario where he could be trusted even for a spot start. The Dolphins just have so many weapons at WR, RB and even TE. 2-3 years down the road when it's time for Hill to go? Then we might have something. I have no idea why this guy went so late in the draft in today's NFL. He's Tyreek Hill with slower top end speed, or Steve Smith Sr. with less anger and strength. Somewhere in between. He should be rostered in every dynasty format and most keeper formats right now.

I would do the same. Benson is probably the league-winner of the bunch if something should happen to Conner, but Estime has a clear path to carries and potential plunges into the end zone. But he’s not a speed merchant, and I don’t see explosive runs by the bunches. I do with Benson. But again, Conner is there and healthy.

How about Devaughn Vele? There’s a name if you are desperate at WR.

Holy crap. He’s a COVID kid. Twenty-six year-old rookie?! Oh, Utah. Maybe a missionary man.

Jets def. The Colts have no idea what they are doing and Flacco is starting AGAIN. I can see Steichen getting fired soon and possibly Ballard as well.

Metchie (if Nico is still out)

Great post in general, but after that game he had who are you going to sit him for? Don’t forget, they still have to replace Diggs in Houston.
Think Metchie could just slide into Diggs old spot in the slot. Good chance he stays somewhat consistent.

That’s what I’m getting at. Debating picking him up over Noah Brown or Michael Pittman (yes, the mighty have fallen that far and I’m 5-5 with no time to wait) as we speak. I think I will.

Pacheco is on my 10 team half PPR waivers. His 21 day window activation throws a wrench in this week's waiver thought process.
I need to assess what this means end of November. Obviously splitting carries with Hunt. But he is coming back from a broken foot.
So is this worth dumping my remaining FAAB for a player who rides the bench for 3 more weeks with the worst bye weeks coming up?
I am also mid standing with making the playoffs so still battling the next few weeks to solidify a spot and bench space is limited.

Correct. 2 year mission out of high school then a red-shirt year at Utah. I like what I've seen from him. I'm stashing him in dynasty leagues despite his age.

A broken leg, not foot.

I think you’re answering your own question here. Then again, if you hold the mentality that second is for total losers, then you might consider it. But do you really think Hunt loses all his carries to Pacheco? I dunno, man. Sounds like you’re waffling on this by asserting that he’ll split carries with Hunt and that you aren’t a sure thing for the playoffs AND you have short benches.

That would seem to me you’re telling yourself you know what you have to do, and blowing your FAAB on a guy that

a) we don’t know when he is coming back
b) we don’t know how effective he’ll be when he does and
c) we don’t know what type of role he’ll have

is probably not the greatest move.

Vele has phenomenal hands and runs very precise routes. He's going to be a good one

Good to know. Increased my bid.

One thing to keep an eye is the Josh Reynolds situation. He was ostensibly Broncos' WR2 but put on IR after finger surgery and then injured (not badly) in a gunshot incident. Unclear what his role will be when he gets back. IMO Vele will take his job permanently but these things are always difficult to predict

I think he was shot in the head outside of a strip club. The bullet grazed him or something like that. Yes, he was running as their big-bodied WR2. Something to look out for, for sure. My bid is in dynasty, so I’m not just looking this year.

For dynasty it's a great bet IMO. There is still lack of clarity with what happens with WR1 Sutton. He still has one year left on his contract and beloved by his teammates but there was potentially something fishy as to why they didn't extend him this year during his mini-holdout. Payton loves his big-bodied WRs and no doubt Vele could grow into that "X" role.

What about Trey Lance? I have both Daniels, Washington and Jackson, Baltimore but both are on BYEs in week 14! Any chance Lance could be the Cowboys QB by week 14?

I don’t know what his future holds in dynasty, but I would think he’s fools gold in redraft.

There is nothing that points to this. He has had the entire season to beat out Rush for the backup spot. I do not think he is very good at football.

I like Gus Bus outta the bunch for a one week plug n play.
Gus split carries on the opening drive including the only run on 1st and goal. They wanna keep Dobbins healthy, so I think he gets 10-15 carries unless they're way behind. Gus and Dobbins each got a couple more carries inside the 10 but then Haskins vultures a TD.

I'm considering for a bye week filler in a 14-team league with Pacheco taking up space.

Yeah. I think there original intention all year was to run Gus and Dobbins all game every game. But we never got to see that play out due to Gus’s injury.

But I think we’ll see it now.

Having said that. I missed Gus on waivers. Someone spent a good amount of FAAB on him. But RB rooms are pretty thin league wide.
