Wali Lundy Superstar (1 Viewer)

Perfect. Thank you Kubiak. Nothing like a little Lundy revival to call out the FBGs who wagered their IDs on the prospect of a 1000-yard rushing season. Only 943 yards to go. And 11 weeks to do it. That's only an average of 85-86 per game. Should be no problem for the Superstar! Those who have their IDs on the line:yellowdogcowboyzgheemonydantheman8417CappyReal Man of Geniustop dogDog
:lmao: Props to calling the Lundy bandwagon for what it was, hype. For the record though, I never accepted the bet. I pointed out that it sounded like a pretty good bet (betting a messageboard ID against $1000) but if a bunch of people took the bet and you lost, it would be more likely that your ID would "retire". That <> accepting a bet.
You're right. I read too much into it.I'll take you off the list of those who won't have their ID by year's end, then. Man, will you be kicking yourself if Lundy takes off. ;) yellowdogcowboyzgheemonydantheman8417CappyReal Man of GeniusDog***Oh, and let me add, I'll pay up. That won't be a problem. I won't need to, but... Really, the only chore at this point will be tracking these yahoos and whether they actually retire their IDs or not.

If you need any advice on how to hunt down skidaddlers, PM Mad Cow. ;)

Don't know if this should be in the "Gado to start" tread but anyway, I didn't see the game or highlite so How did Lundy look in that game ?

19/93 and a TD plus 4 rec's for 15 is looking pretty damn good right about now. (Compared to Maroney, Cadillac, Alexander, and TJones, at least). Those bastards are screwing my season over.

Have you ever made a bet before? Prior to placing the bet you need to prove your intent on keeping it. Merely stating that you will means nothing. The bet was a "no lose" for you, and just chest puffing. Congrats.

Have you ever made a bet before? Most bets I have made have been given on a mans word or a handshake. You expect him to tie up that amount of money to someone he doesn’t know until the seasons end? Personally I can’t see either sides paying up but you got to at least give them the benefit of the doubt. If he doesn’t come through then flame him all you want. BTW - This was a dumb bet to start with...However this thread has some wheels now. It should get interesting.

Online bets I've been involved in had a third party holding money that was on the line.I'll go to Vegas with your mans word and a handshake policy though. I should do quite well!

Does a third party get to hold your ID during the pendency of the bet?C'mon man you have literally nothing but a circa August of '06 internet persona on the line ...

I offered to have Rudnicki hold the keys to my ID and avatar. I promise you, if there is really a thousand dollars to be had, I have no problem putting my ID and avatar on the line. Only 850 yards to go. :towelwave: Go Wali Go!

Did you paypal the :moneybag: to Rudnicki ? If so, I'd be glad to hold up my side of the bet.
Whether he did or not, that was never a condition of the original bet. That was just something you put in. :lmao: Sooooo yellowdog....you gonna sack up  or live up to your name & lame out?
Anyone not willing to bet an internet ID and avatar for $1000 on the slight chance that a rookie running back could catch fire is a fool. Hell, I'll throw in an alias for another grand if he's willing.
So in other words you're not gonna sack up?
Welcome aboard BS. :excited:

Wow!! I didn't think his Samkon Gado Man Love Card allowed him to do that. ;)

You just might be keeping that ID & adding a $1,000.00 to your bottom line.

Is Wali good enough to supplant DD next year? Will DD ever come back? What does everyone think?

I think DD is done for. If his knee is bad enough to hold him out all off-season and the regular season, who's to say it will ever recover? I know it has been a small sample, but Wali has looked pretty good when called upon. I am trying to evaluate Wali's Dynasty value here. I may have to decide between Wali and Mike Bell for my last dynasty roster spot.

It's way too early to assess Lundy's longer-term role, but I agree that Davis seems done. Even if he's reasonably recovered, I imagine that he'll be cut in the offseason, as he's not Kubiak's guy.If Lundy can continue to impress, he could benefit if the Texans have bigger needs in the draft next year. Of course, if they're in a position to do so, they might not want to pass up on Adrian Peterson like they did with Bush.

Lundy got an early TD, but couldn't get much going after that. Gado came in and played most of the 2nd half...not sure if it was dictated by Gado just doing a better job (seemed to be more physical) against a tough run D, or if Lundy was nicked up. Didn't hear anything about injury. Hopefully Lundy will get another crack at it next week because it's hard to show much against tough run D's on the road.

Whats the Gado story? I have a chance to get Lundy for cheap and wonder if its because he lost his job - any info on this?

I have no further info, but I have a feeling Lundy will be back there starting on Sunday with a chance to get a lions share of the work. He's just faced the worst part of his schedule, with games @ NYG and @ JAC, so hopefully he can put up some good numbers with an excellent upcoming schedule. I don't really think the Texans view Gado as a long-term solution, so they really should give Lundy as much time as possible, but what they should do and what they will do might be two entirely different things. I'm rolling with Lundy in the flex and hopefully he picks it up against Buffalo - if he struggles again, it wouldn't surprise me to see Gado again...the 1st quarter will probably tell the story.

FBG has him ranked as a non starter in a 16 team, start 2RB league this week, and has him one spot behind Gado.

Does this make sense given A) hes at home playing a mediocre Bills Run D, and B) Kubiak confirmed Lundy will be the starter this week?

Kubiak has confirmed this?eta: this is all i can find:

(Rotoworld) Wali Lundy is expected to remain the Texans' starter going forward.

Impact: Samkon Gado came into Sunday's game and was productive, picking up a key first down on a fourth-and-one with less than two minutes left. It's possible Gado will begin to vulture some short-yardage carries, but Lundy's upcoming schedule remains very enticing in fantasy leagues.

Any news on Lundy? Are we looking at RBBC this week? I'm trying to decide to start him and the only way that I would do that is if he's going to get the majority of carries. I have enough RBBC on my roster right now.

Thank god for Wally Lundy. One of the best teases of the year.

Anyhoo, for those keeping track, Lundy has to average about 94 yards/game from here-on-out to reach 1000 yards. In other words, he'll have to outperform...

Steven Jackson

Chester Taylor

Warrick Dunn

Julius Jones

Thomas Jones

Rudi Johnson

Ronnie Brown

...on a yards/game basis thus far this year to win this bet for the 7-8 guys who took the bet (a.k.a. the suckers who'll lose their license to drive their UserID on this site after the season ends).

Good luck with that.

Not that I would expect to actually get paid if Lundy did do it, but I would make the same bet again today. $1000 vs. my message board screen name? Who's the sucker?

Me thinks the guys who got all giddy about Wally Lundy Superstar are the suckers, as they lost a bet that was a certain loser for them to take in the first place.

It can happen, guys. Don't lose hope. Wally Lundy Superstar needs ONLY 99 yards per game for the rest of the season to crack 1000. It feels so glum in here. Let's party. First round's on me.

It's amusing to me how you disappeared from Oct. 19 to Nov 16. Way to stick to your guns.

:lmao: Yes, because Lundy was really threatening to opposing defenses and this bet during that time, now wasn't he? FWIW, I moved into a new house the last week of October and didn't have an internet connection or much of anything else settled for the last several weeks (plus being out of town the last two weekends). If anyone's having difficulty sticking to his guns, it's the members of the Wally Lundy Superstar camp.

From FBG News Blogger:

HC Gary Kubiak on rotating RBs Samkon Gado and Wali Lundy: “We’re just trying to make sure those two guys play right down the middle. If we think one of them is getting winded we’ll put the other one in. It’s easy when you’re doing something good to say leave that guy in, but we told ourselves we’d stay committed to playing two of them. And we’re going to try to continue to do that."

I'm so desperate for RB's that I'm starting both Lundy and Gado this week, figuring picking between the two is pointless and hopefully they'll have great success against the suspect Jets run D. :bag:

I assume Mr. Lundy will not get 527 yards rushing this weekend, so I am prepared to pay my debt. Mods, feel free to delete my account.
