The more I think about it, the more I'm convincing myself that Andrew Walter is a poor man's Matt Leinart.
Both have an impressive array of offensive weapons.
Both look to have been annointed their clubs' QBs of the future. Both look to be potential starters in 2007...Leinart is definitely the safer, but the fact that the Raiders passed on QBs in the early round of the 2006 draft speaks to their confidence in Walter. I believe Brooks signed a 2-year contract with the Raiders.
Both are classic pocket passers. Leinart may have a bit more accuracy, but Walter has more arm strength. He has an cannon of an arm and will be able to make all the deep throws. Walter really reminds me of Drew Bledsoe.
I anticipate the Raiders will turn Walter loose during training camp to see exaclty what they have. If Walter meets the challenge, he could be a valuable commodity in 2007 and beyond.
