Jeff

I have ATL as one of my def in on league and ARI in another

Which Def would you pick up off WW for both my teams

WW Def rank them

DAL.

NYJ

IND

CIN

BUF

SF

Also i have Z Miller should i drop him for G Olsen

one more should i drop J Gage or A Miles for Mike Wallace
Olsen over Miller, easily. Do not drop Gage for one of those WRs unless a Dallas WR goes down tonight. I love the NYJ defense. They have faced some good offenses and still produced. Cin would be second. Both good fantasy options. Just that Cin def does not have good of schedule.
I have A miles should i drop him for Mike wallace
I would not. Austin will only see action as WR3 in Pitt like Nate Washington last year. He will not be an option unless Holmes or Ward is hurt. And, this is coming from the FBG staffer that is the highest on Wallace. I have loved his ability since at Ole Miss.

Hey, I get what you are saying on the TEs and would not blame you for making the switch. It will be tough for Miller to get many TDs as long as Russell is QB. At WR, I would give Schilens a week or two before making the move. Garcon was good last night, but Gonzo will be back soon enough so Schilens might be the better play unless you are desperately needing a starter for a couple of weeks.

Hi again Jeff – Vernon Davis over Zach Miller, and Pierre Garcon over Schilens? I’m really down on the Oakland passing attack, and am considering other alternatives.Zach Miller was fairly highly thought of before the year started, but oh my, he’s been off to such a slow start. In “Targets’ I see that Vernon Davis has 7, 6, and 10 (23 total) compared to Miller’s 6, 3, and 5 (14 total) for the first three weeks. 1. Is Davis worth a waiver wire pickup at the expense of Miller?Kind of in the same light, I have Oakland's Schilens on my bench, hoping he can someday provide something better than what Braylon Edwards has been doing. Garcon doesn’t have all that many targets (5, 3, 5), but he does play in Indy.2. Thoughts on picking up Garcon at the expense of Schilens? Thanks! 12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster. Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving. My Team:QB: Garrard, Leinart, Shaun HillRB: AP, Ronnie Brown, Addai, Lynch, Chester Taylor WR: Roddy White, Braylon Edwards, Berrian, SchilensTE: Zach Miller DEF: Phil, GBK: Tynes

Hey, I hope you are pleased with the FBG product. On your league, I agree with your thoughts. I am in a comparable league and I had to narrow my "dynasty window" since a WR like Calvin Johnson gives you no added benefit than Randy Moss or Reggie Wayne who are in their 30s. This is the key, imo. Pick up the underrated guys that may have only a year or two left. This is prob the case more at WR and QB than RB. A guy like LJ or Thomas Jones, etc will not help you that much anyway. In my experience, the key is to find a balance between upside guys and older players. The other thing is you know you can get cheap WRs like Driver, Ward, etc to fill in WR2/3/4 while others are chasing the younger players. But, at RB, you will need one stud and some upside players like Charles, Davis, etc. At RB, it is much easier to trade for a Benson or Leon Washington as RB2. Also, what are the considerations if you have a player under contract and he is worthless? What does it cost to cut him? I am thinking of the older players in particular. Have a good one.

Hi Jeff, this is my first year as FBG Subscriber and since i've played only Re-Draft Leagues before this year (4 Year Experience) i know what should i do in order to win Re-Draft leagues, but i don't know what to do in a Dynasty League so i need your kind help. The Rulebook is somehow different from the "usual" Dynasty Rulebook, cause we are using both Contract Years and Salary Cap and if i can easily understand how the salary cap system works, i having some troubles with the Contract Years System.Rulebook says i can give a player no more than 3 Contract Years when i win his auction (i can put the franchise tag on him just once after this period, so let's consider that i can keep a Nucleus Player for 4 years at maximum) and that the Contract Years Total can not be higher than 38. This are Roster Requirements:2 QB / 2 RB / 2 WR / 2 TE / 3 FLEX (every offensive/defensive position except PK and QB) / 2 PK / 3 DL / 3 LB / 3 DB / 1 Extra (every offensive/defensive position included QB and PK)Here's Starting Lineup1 QB / 1 RB / 1 WR / 1 TE / 2 FLEX (RB,WR,TE) / 1 PK / 2 DL / 2 LB / 2 DB / 1 Def FLEX (DL/LB/DB)------Question A is -> This league looks to me more a Keeper than i Dynasty, when i try to acquire a new player should i use FBG Re-Draft, Dynasty Rankings or something like an average of both?Question B is -> I have inherited this team from an owner, considering what i wrote before, would you drop a player with an high ceiling like Jamaal Charles or James Davis (both have a 2 Years Contract) in order to acquire a player like Larry Johnson for 2 Years? In a "No contract years Dynasty" i would say no, but what should i do in this kind of league? Should i look for potential or should i look for players like LJ or Donald Driver that are probably going to be starters next year too and that are cheaper than players like Josh Morgan?Thank you Jeff, and have a nice day from Italy

Keep Austin unless/untill ward/holmes is hurt. For the kickers, I think I would go with either Feely or Nedney.

Hi Jeff, if i cut a player i have to pay his contract till the end. So, for instance, if i cut Jamaal Charles (2YC - 0.5 M) i will recover the 2 Contract Years but i will have a cap Penalty of 0.5 M for each year (but if someone picks him hip before the start of Year two, i can avoid the penalty)I'm going to write you here my offensive player list, so maybe you can help me with your FF wisdom.*** (Salary Decrease of 1/2 every year) ***QB - Matt Ryan - 2 CY - 3.0 M Cap (Rookie Option - At the end of the Contract I can keep him for 2 more years)QB - Michael Vick - 2 CY - 2.5 M Cap RB - Felix Jones - 2 CY - 4.0 M Cap (Rookie Option)RB - LeSean McCoy - 3 CY - 8.0 M Cap (Rookie Option)RB - Jamaal Charles - 2 CY - 0.5 M CapRB - James Davis - 2 CY - 5.5 M CapWR - Percy Harvin - 3 CY - 4.0 M Cap (Rookie Option)WR - Josh Morgan - 3 CY - 0.5 M CapWR - Earl Bennett - 2 CY - 0.5 M CapWR - Steve Breaston - 2CY - 1.0 M CapTE - Todd Heap - 1 CY - 2.0 M CapTE - Travis Beckum - 3 CY - 0.5 M Cap§§§Interesting Players Availables§§§QB - Shaun Hill / Kerry Collins / Kyle Boller / Josh Johnson / Derek AndersonRB - Larry Johnson / Le'Ron McClain / Glen Coffee / Tashar Choice / Jerome Harrison / Rashad JenningsWR - Donald Driver / Laurent Robinson / Derrick Mason / Mike Sims-Walker / Nate Burleson / Chris HenryTE - Jermicheal Finley / Ben WatsonWhat Would You Do? There are a couple of players of interest. Your team seems young an a year or two away from being real competitive. That happens a lot with teams taken over. If you are wanting WR help in next 1-2 yrs, Driver and Mason look to be good options, esp if cheap. MSW is another decent option but injury bug is tough for him to shake. LRobinson is gone for season w/ broken leg. Choice is the one RB I think I would invest in. He looks to be a budding star.

I am happy to help. Thank you for the kind words.Beckum - prob a yr away, but I like him longtermVick - under contract for one more season in Philly and does not have same pizzaz once hadThose would be my first two. After that, probably look at the WRs, either Morgan or Bennett. Bennett I would drop before Morgan. It appears Bennett has been passed by Knox in the lineup.

Hello Jeff, need some help with my WR's

12 team h2h league

1 pt/10 receiving, 1pt/15 rushing, 6 pts all TD's

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

QB: Garrard, Edwards

RB: Adrian Peterson, Ronnie Brown, W. Parker, K. Moreno

WR: R. Wayne, T. Housh, D. Hester, J. Knox, Laurent Robinson

TE: Witten

So, now that Robinson is out for year I will be dropping him but for who?

Possible pickups:

P. Harvin

D. Avery

K. Washington

A. Caldwell

J. Avant

K. Britt

S. Rice

I am thinking either Harvin or Avery here. Also what should I try to do to improve my team? I am 2-1 now and in a very strong division. My WR's are a bit weak as are my QB's. I am a bit scared with Housh.

Edit: Breaston is also available.

Thanks

DEF Tennessee

I have been offered K. Kolb and T. Holt for Edwards and LJ he has bye week and injury trouble this is why he is offering this trade and he is 3-0 atop the standings and I am 1-2 towards the bottom. Don't really like the team for my team and don't really see anything that I would be interested in except for maybe switching M. Walker for Holt.

What do you think about this trade and do you see anything that would help both of the teams out in a trade.

in a heartbeat. LT did not look that great. Maybe the strong-armed Henne will make defenses play honestly in Miami and not crowd the line.

to be honest, that is a horrible trade for you. McNabb will be back in week five, after the bye. Holt is old and past his prime. I only see Collins/Austin (throw in WR) for Kolb and either Chris Henry or Sims-Walker. He needs more than bye week help. Hasselbeck is hurt, Leftwich benched. The only other thing I really would like is to get Leinart here. I would easily move Edwards/throw in for Kolb and Leinart if I was you. Warner looks done to me. He probably will not make it too far into the season.

I like both Harvin and Breaston. I would consider dropping Knox and Robinson for both Harvin and Breaston. Harvin has scored a ton this season. Breaston was a Top 25 receiver last year and played well last night.

I for got Dallas def or do you still like NYJ then CIN second

oh yeah, both big over dallas. tonight was dallas' first sacks on season

One last question Jeff..Can you please rank me in order the players you would drop?I.e. 1 - (lower ceiling) - Earl Bennet...P.S. Thank you very much, i know forum is for free but it makes FBG even better... You're awesome!
Hi Jeff, an owner of a below-average team is offering meL. Coles (1 Year - 2.0 M) & E. Royal (3 Years - 0.5) for Earl Bennett (2 Years - 0.5 M) and Steve Breaston (2 Years - 1.0 M).I think this is a good trade for me.Another possibile trade is Kevin Smith (2 Years - 4.0 M) for Felix Jones (2 Years - 4.0 M). This one is hard to decide, since i like smith more than jones but doing that i'll lose the Rookie Option on him.Let me know, until next time...

Me again!

Been getting no points from my TE position, but I've managed 2-1 and somebody just offered me Gates for Houshmandzadeh.

WR - Cotch, Colston, Housh, Mason

RB - AD, Grant, Bradshaw, Chester, Coffee

I run into flex trouble in week 5 if Gore is back, otherwise I start Coffee. (assuming I make this trade)

I'd upgrade from Jermichael Finley and Zach Miller to Gates. I'm thinking I'll accept, but figured I'd ask what you think? 1/15 rec, .5ppr

Love the WR deal for you getting Royal (on the cheap). On the RBs, I love Kevin Smith, but I would keep Jones and the rookie option. Both are hurt right now, and you have a good young nucleus.

I would do that deal in a heartbeat. Gore prob is not back until after the team's week 6 bye. Expect him no earlier than week 7

Jeff, due to the struggles of Forte I'm looking to deal him why he still has some trade value.

I've been offered Jacobs straight up for Forte and wanted to get some opinions from the forum.

RB scoring: 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving and 8 pts per rushing/receiving TD.

I know that Bradshaw is stealing carries from Jacobs but should I do it?

Forte started with tough matchups against the Packers and Steelers before totally 100+ total yards vs Seattle. I would keep him over Jacobs in a heartbeat. Jacobs is not getting the scoring chances of the past, either.

Jeff - I need TE help (H Miller) and I have been offered Keller for E Bennett. What do you think?
do that in a heartbeat. Bennett, imo, has been passed by Knox
Yeah, I'm thinking Keller's value stays pretty consistent if not high this year. I like where he ranks in the Jets' offensive pecking order as well. It seems like trying to figure out which days Bennett will have a good game will be tough. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, I'm in a 12 team league, we start 2 RB's and only get 2 bench RB's. Our scoring is different (1 pt per yard, 60 per td and 3 pts per catch, so 50 rushing, 40 rec on 3 catches makes a solid say (99 points) (TD makes it awesome)

I have

Chris Johnson

Reggie Bush

and benched currently are Lendale White and Leshaun McCoy.

Do I submit a claim to drop White or McCoy (My handcuff to my best guy) for Glenn Coffee to use for 2-3 weeks?

Also if I don't get Coffee would you drop White or McCoy for Larry Johnson?

I would dump mccoy for coffee and start him over bush this week since 49ers play rams

im in a tricky situtaion in week 4. 4 of my starters are on byes which is forcing me to grab a wr off the waiver wire.

do i drop gonzo for pierre? i may not even get garcon bcuz im #10 waiver order.

if i cant get garcon, my other options are: stuckey, kenny britt, chris henry, sidney rice, devon bess.

would you drop gonzo for one of the aforementioned bye week fill-ins? i'd sure hate to lose him, especially if he comes back strong at the end of the season.

I think i would stick with: Walter, Devery Henderson, and MSW ... I do not know if Garcon is an improvement

Reggie Bush for Jones?

PPR league which means both Hightower and Bush throw me a lot of points through the air!

Leaning towards saying bye bye to Hightower?

I'm trying to think long-term....that's why I didn't list T Choice or Coffee.

I think that my RB's are a strong group for the most part. I just don't want to let Felix Jones slip through if you think he could make my team better.

What do you think?

2nd TEAM Question

Do I keep Fred Jackson or drop him for Tashard Choice or Cedric Benson this week?

I'm thinking Benson long term.....Choice has the better matchup this week vs Cleveland.

Made a trade. Thanks for the help how about?

12 teams, start 2 rb's (2 bench)

1pt per YARD, 60 per td, 3 per catch..... 100 yards 1td, 3 catches 10 yards = 179 (which makes me happy)

Chris Johnson

Clinton Portis

Reggie Bush

Lendale White

Drop Lendale White for? Larry Johnson or Betts? or even Leon Washington?

Rather handcuff Portis or Chris Johnson?

or keep put with the roster at RB?

Also drop Nate Washington for Burelson if I don't get Royal?

Jeff,

I have a couple of PPR questions, if you have the time.

My Team

QB - Schaub, Roethlisberger, Sanchez

RB - Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Chester Taylor, Norwood

WR - Andre Johnson, Bowe, Devin Hester, Sims-Walker, Breaston, Avery, Justin Gage

TE - Gates, Heap

K- Tynes

D/ST - Redskins (I know, I know - will be dropped after the game on Sunday)

Start - 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1OP(QB, WR, RB, or TE), 1K, 1D/ST

Passing TD = 3pts

ANY rushing TD 6pts (including QB) 3pt bonus for any rush TD of 40+yds

ANY receiving TD 6 pts - 3pt bonus for rec TD of 40+ yds

1 point per reception,

rush/rec yards = 0.1pt/1yard

pass yards 0.05pt/yd

NO TRADES in our league, but unlimited add/drops.

1) I was thinking about dropping Avery if he had one more crappy week, which he did have but with the injury to Robinson, I am rethinking giving him a third chance. Is he worth keeping? I am thinking about picking up Garcon with Indy. I like that he has a MUCH better QB throwing to him than Boeller or Bulger. Other options in my league are Gaffney with Denver, Mike Wallace - Pit, or Kelley Washington with Bal. Are any of these guys worth dropping Avery for?

2) I have been a little thin at RB all year, and there are only 2 worthy additions in my league, Coffee and Choice. I am leaning toward trying to pick up Coffee, thinking about Gore maybe not being 100% for quite a while, and Coffee might be less likely to split carries, plus he looked good on TV filling in for Gore. Is Coffee the better fill in for my team compared to Choice? And if so, do I drop a banged up Norwood or a WR? (In my PPR league, I like Taylor as a bye week fill in and the two weeks I didn't start him he outscored Ronnie Brown, and the time I started him over Ronnie Brown, Ronnie went off on MNF.) What I see is that I have 2 weekly RB1's and 2 back up RB's. I might feel better having bench RB's that actually will get some carries or receptions. Tell me what you think.

3) Defense question. I picked up the Redskins thinking they were playing a terrible team in Detroit, but they looked worse than Detroit and I want to pick up a better D/ST. But I am having a hard time trying to read which teams actually score TD's as points against vary wildly from week to week and I don't want to keep the Redskins.

Our league has the following scoring for D/ST...

0 points allowed 10pts

2-6 points allowed 7

7-13 points allowed 4

14-17 points allowed 1

Blocked Punt or FG return for TD = 6pts

Each Interception, Fumble Recovered, or Safety 2pts

Each Sack 1pt

Kickoff Return TD, Punt Return TD, Interception Return TD, or Fumble Return TD = 6pts

Here are the teams I am looking at picking up for the soon to be dropped Redskins... Bengals, Saints, Colts, 49ers, or Bills(Miami and then Cleveland)

Do you have a tip on one of these teams? And is it ok to just play matchups week to week for D/ST since I didn't draft a good defense, or should I get a team and just ride it out?

Thanks for all your help.

Hightower vs Felix is a tough one. I like Felix long term, but I think I would stick with Hightower for short term. I would drop FJax for Benson. They have scored about the same overall and Benson does not share carries. He is a good option many weeks.

Jeff,

In standard scoring I need to choose two players from the below:

Nate Burleson

Braylon Edwards

Donald Brown

Marshawn Lynch

Hi Jeff,

With Boldin on bye, I'm having to choose between Julius Jones and Houshmandzadeh as my flex. They are both playing Indy this week. This is a ppr league with bonuses for yardage and length of TD's. Scoring is the same for RB and WR. Who do you like better?

Thanks!

edwards The other one is tough. All three are tough. Indy is tough against the pass and wallace is still at qb for sea. brown will split time w/ addai, and lynch will prob get less carries than fjax this week. I think i would take a shot on brown who is averaging 67ish yds a game

I am not a Julius fan at all, but the Indy rush defense is soft compared to the pass defense. I would play Julius over Housh, esp with Wallace still at QB.
