Neither are great option, but I think I would go with New Orleans. They have been hot of late.Hey JeffWhich team D would you go with this week in a PPR league?1. Green Bay vs Minn2. New Orleans vs AtlThanks.
Brown is the easy one. For the second, I think i would lean toward Grant. HOU has really shut down RBs of late, including Gore last week and Grant is a threat in passing game.Hi JeffIn a Non-ppr league which 2 RB's would you start?1. Ronnie Brown @ NYJ2. Ryan Grant vs Minn3. Lynch vs HoustonThanks...
Hey Sean, I think I would lean toward Lynch but I agree on the HOU run defense. I know he will get carries, and we do not know anything on Felix. I would go with the guy who will get carries and Lynch has emerged as the primary back and getting the majority of the load. Good luck. JeffHeya Jeff~ I am in a bit of a quandary this week. I think I have a good team (in my sig) but I am not sure who to start at RB2 this week. I have Chris Johnson going as RB1 and Ricky Williams in my flex spot. So I have Felix Jones, Marshawn Lynch or Buckhalter. I think Lynch is the obvious pick, but this will be a tough week vs Houston's much improved run Def. Buckhalter is pretty much out of the running vs Bal. Then there is Felix Jones, who as long as he isn't hurt, will put up good/great numbers. I heard he will be returning kicks this week and anytime he is on the field with the ball he is dangerous. So Jeff, who do you think I go with? Good luck this week man!~Sean
I think i would take Jacobs nad not look back. I say that because I have soured on McFadden just because of the Oakland offense and how long it might be before the team turns it around. Jacobs has not looked good this season, but looks much better than McFadden.Hey again Jeff.
14 team, PPR, 3 keeper league
start QB / 2 RB / 2 WR / TE
To pair with Peterson I've been platooning McFadden, Leon Washington and most recently Larry Johnson for my RB2 so you can see the world of hurt I'm in at the position but somewhat miraculously I'm in the mix for a playoff run.
I just about have an offer of Jacobs for McFadden, plus I have to give up some position in next years draft.
Here are my thoughts.
Jacobs: Healthy now and should get the ball more as the weather gets colder and Bradshaw is an awkward cut away from missing some time on his bad foot. However going forward for next year should I keep him, I expect him to be splitting carries and this year of next, he just doesn't catch a lot of balls, and at 27 and his running style he's not so young.
McFadden: Out now and the Raiders are a mess but he is much younger than Jacobs, should be catching a lot of passes (if they Raiders find a QB who can throw a swing pass in the vicinity of his receiver), and has a lot of upside.
I hate to sell so low on McFadden but I have no one to play at RB2 right now (Chester Taylor, Snelling or Faulk would be in my lineup this week) so I am leaning towards making the deal for it can help me win now and isn't this all about winning?
Thoughts?
I would go with who you have. Collie is a good play with Wayne gimpy. Cotchery is not 100% heathy, Mason has a tough matchup, and I do not love either RB this week. I know Grant looks to have a tough matchup, but at least he should see consistent touches.me again:
RB
AD
Grant
WR
Marques Colston
Sidney Rice
FLEX
Austin Collie
BN
Cotchery
Derrick Mason
Shonn Greene
Ahmad Bradshaw
0.5 PPR, 1/10 rush, 1/15 rec, all TDs 6
Would you play a different flex guy over Collie? A different RB over Grant?
I think I would go with Chicago. Anderson throws picks. Atlanta and Ryan do not allow sacks nor turn the ball over much. I expect the Bears to assert themselves this week. They need a big win for confidence.Hi Jeff!I picked up the NO defense and have a great slew of matchups in the coming weeks. However, this week they get the ATL, while I still haven't dropped the CHI defense which has CLE at home (and not much else going for it). Which is the better play?Scoring is pretty standard (6/defensive or ST TD, 10/shut out and down from there, 2/sack, INT, recovered fumble). Thanks!
. seemed like a good trade with rice on a bye and a 1-5 record. now I am 1-6I think it hurts you since you are losing three every-week starters and getting two ...and not really getting better players. I have had seasons like yours where it is frustrating. I fell your pain. You have a good team.Hi jeff, man this is just not my year. If I win out, I may have a shot at the playoffs. I traded away Ray Rice last week for Andre Johnson, that hurt, I benched Antonio Bryant for Johnson and lost by 2, I would have won. seemed like a good trade with rice on a bye and a 1-5 record. now I am 1-6redraft league, 14 teams, no-ppr, no TE. we start 1 RB, 3 WR/TE and 1 flex(rb/wr/te)my roster:A RodgersF Gore M Lynch F Jones G Coffee A Johnson Calv Johnson K Britt A Bryant B Johnson M Massaquoi S Aiken WinslowJ CarneyTexans Steelers I am offered Slaton, Chris Brown, Harvin and Marshall for Gore, Coffee, Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson.Slaton, Harvin, Andre still have byeswould you make this trade. it mixes things up, but does it make my team better?
Jeff, could you please find out if Jene had a chance to take a look at this? Thank you.Jeff asked me to take a look at this, too.I'll need more than just a minute or two to give this one it's due diligence, which means I'm not likely to get back to it until tomorrow afternoon unfortunately. Feel free to post this one in the IDP AC if you'd like some additional thoughts, otherwise I'll bump this post with an answer tomorrow.I think you need Willis more than Chris Johnson. You have a good young team and I would not consider this unless the pick was pretty high.Jeff, after I rejected, he countered with Willis and Harvin for C. Johnson, S. Rice, and his first next year. What do you think?Hey, while I love Chris Johnson, I would keep Harvin/Willis. Willis is an IDP machine
Hi Jeff. I was just offered a trade, and would appreciate your input. I was offered Chris Johnson (Ten), Akeem Jordan, and the guy's first round pick in 2010 for P. Harvin, and P. Willis. I play in a 12 team, PPR, IDP, Dynasty league. Scoring for RB/WR is 1 ppr, 1 pt for every 10 yds rush/rec, 6 pts rush/rec td. Scoring for defensive players is 2 pts per solo tckl, 1 pt for every 2 assists, 1 pt per pd, 2 pts every ff, 1 pt every .5 sack, 3 pts per int. Here are my current RB, WR, and LB. We start 2 RB, 3 WR, and 4 LB each week.RBGreene, Shonn NYJ RB McCoy, LeSean PHI RB Peterson, Adrian MIN RB Scott, Bernard CIN RB Wells, Chris ARI RB WRGarcon, Pierre IND WR Harvin, Percy MIN WR Jackson, DeSean PHI WR Knox, Johnny CHI WR Maclin, Jeremy PHI WR Schilens, Chaz OAK WR Wallace, Mike PIT WR Thomas, Mike JAC WR (Taxi Squad)Tate, Brandon NE WR (Taxi Squad)LBDurant, Justin JAC LB Harris, David NYJ LB Laurinaitis, James STL LB Levy, DeAndre DET LBSession, Clint IND LB Tatupu, Lofa SEA LBWillis, Patrick SFO LB
I like that deal because I think Marshall has a strong second half of the season. I would pick up Fred Davis after this week for the next few weeks at TEAnother trade, another team. 12 team redraft, no ppr. I am 4-3. I give S.Holmes and Witten, I get B.Marshall and pick up Z Miller from Waivers. I have Holmes, Sims-Walker, Burleson, Crabtree, Aiken, Hartline, Royal (too many), we start 2 wr, 1te and 1 flex(rb/wr/te). my rbs are Grant, K.Smith, Lynch, M.Bell

Got derailed by a few things over the last 24 hours, so I apologize for the delay. I posted a reply in your IDP AC thread a little bit ago. Ok, Thanks. I would get Scheffler with the deal. Z.Miller, Davis, Finley and Pettigrew are available. I would probably carry 2 without Witten. which 2 would you take? Davis for sure for weeks 9-11 or 12. He looked great last Monday nite. I would use Miller or Scheffler this week (tomorrow)Ok, Thanks. I would get Scheffler with the deal. PPR LEAGUE
WR Options (Need 3)
Calvin Johnson @ Rams ( Still Questionable I think? )
Roddy White @ NO
Sidney Rice @ Green Bay no way I could say to bench either
Hakeem Nicks @ PHI
Derrick Mason v DEN
Start Nicks as WR3 if Manningham does not play. Otherwise, start Mason.
RB (2)
APeterson @ Green Bay
CJohnson v JAC
Reggie Bush v ATL
Ricky Williams @ NYJ -> would be my third choice
DEF (1)
Vikes @ Green Bay
Colts v SF easy call with the lead they should have
Thanks Jeff!
I would start Jennings this week. And, I would start Wells because i expect AZ to have the lead. The Falcons are tough to run on, very tough.Jennings over Nicks?STart WElls over Pierre
The late first and Royal deal is probably fair. You might see how cheaply you can trade for Heath Miller, Celek, or Vernon Davis ... all who are playing at a higher level than their "value"Unwrittenlaw said:I need to make a move because Daniels could be out for the year. For a dynasty league, is a trade where I give a late first rd rookie pick for 2010 and Eddie Royal for Chris Wells and Winslow just right or will I have to offer a lot more? Or should I just trade Daniels for Z Miller - yes, that was offered to me after the injury.
Stewart I think. Moats' big game was against a bad Buff run defense. Who knows how that will shake out with he and Slaton. Stewart will have some big games going forward.Ryan Moats or J Stewart???
Who do you like better going forward?
Thanks
I like Hightower because he gets receptions each week and can help with the Slaton uncertaintyI play in a ppr and have 3 solid rbs with slaton, chris johnson and ray rice. should i hold on to shonn greene or drop him for tim hightower who just became available on the waiver wire?greene has more longterm upside but hightower could help my team right away in case of injury. i play in a 12 team re-draft league...no dynasty here.
I would love it for you w/ giving Addai ... not Brown. I would keep him.Hi again Jeff, I need another “sanity check”!An owner is 2-6, and on the outside looking in at this point. I’m 5-3, with nothing certain, but feel like a gamble could pay off.For week 9, he has 2 of his 3 RBs on bye. I have bye problems then too, but for the chance to upgrade, I wonder about a short term loss, in that I’d probably lose week 9 for sure.My thinking is that he needs to win now…and may be willing to sacrifice longer term value for the chance to stay in the playoff hunt. I’m thinking about offering Addai, Roddy White, and Braylon Edwards for Steven Jackson, Calvin, and DeSean. His SJax is on bye week 9, and Addai would give him a 2nd pretty good RB. Calvin has been injured, so both he and DeSean are probably each individually < Roddy right now, but combined they are certainly better, I think. He also gets Braylon (wk 9 bye too) in the deal, who has been playing a bit better for the NYJ.This week he’d have Grant and Addai, along with Anquan, Roddy, and Northcutt/Crayton as his starters…My team wouldn’t be much this week, but it seems like the gamble could pay off downstream. What do you think? As a follow-up, what if he counter-offered Ronnie Brown instead of Addai? I’m thinking that would be ok too, but I think I’d prefer to trade Addai rather than Brown. Agree? Thanks again.12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster. Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving, 25 yards passing. My Team:QB: Hasselbeck, GarrardRB: AP, Ronnie Brown, Addai, Lynch, Chester Taylor WR: Roddy White, Braylon Edwards, BerrianTE: Vernon DavisHis Team:QB: Romo, CassellRB: SJax, Grant, LewisWR: DeSean, Calvin, Boldin, Rice, Northcutt, CraytonTE: Heap, Cooley
That is a square deal in non-PPR. I would do it since Rice is hot and could help you. You also may see what you would have to add to get his pick as thrown in on the primary deal.12 team dynasty, non-ppr, start 1qb, 2wr, 2rb, 1wr/rb, 1te, 1k, 1defStandard scoring, 10 yards per point, 6 point TDs. Passing is 25/4.And I'm thinking of moving Calvin Johnson :\Basically, I'm 6-2 right now with a pretty loaded team, but a pretty weak flex option. I'm basically dead even with two other VERY strong teams. There are basically 3 teams that are completely loaded right now, which has lead me to consider moving Calvin since I'm not sure he will be producing well again this year with that knee. The Ray Rice owner is pretty much out of it at 2-6, with decent (though not great) running back depth. So I'm thinking he may be willing to grab Calvin since this year is lost for him anyway. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on his draft pick either, since it will very likely be a top 4 pick.My roster:QB: Rivers, HasselbeckRB: Peterson, S. Jackson, Wells, Cadillac, C. TaylorWR: Fitzgerald, A. Johnson, C. JohnsonTE: Gates, CarlsonHis roster:QB: Romo, GarrardRB: Jacobs, Portis, Rice, F. Jones, Bradshaw, McGahee, L White, McClainWR: Bowe, Edwards, Mason, GageTE: Shockey, HeapI was thinking of offering Calvin for Rice. I'd love to do Calvin for Rice plus his pick, but not sure he'd be willing to swing that though I could maybe add something to it.Thoughts?
Keep AZ. I like NYJ/SF/CIN .... check the schedule of AZ and look for bad matchups. I would think SF/CIN have some great matchups on the shedule, just look to see how they match up.I drop the JET def for dallas def week8 should i drop dallas def and get them this week ?My second team def is ARI should i keep them WW def could you give me two good def two pick up and keep ? two team same league Rank themMIAJETSFCINHOUCAR OAK
I would say Garrard most weeks. I would definitely look to add Moats and drop a fringe player just for added securityGarrard vs A. Smith......what do you think? Rivers if my Starter......this is just for a backup optionSlaton killed me this week. What about Moats?Thanks...Jeff
whats up jeff...need some advice
i play in a ppr...2b, 3 wr...no flex
pick 2
chris johnson at san fran
slaton at indy
ray rice at cincy
I would avoid Slaton with two good options
pick 3
a. boldiin (if healthy) at chicago
greg jennings at tampa
mike wallace at denver
sims walker vs kc
desean jackson vs dallas
Love DeSean, Jennings with great matchups, and would play MSW over a gimpy Boldin
pick 1
celek vs dallas
carlson vs detroit
I think I would go with Carlson's upside vs Detroit
JBig Daddy said:Hey jeff i've switched to this site in desperation because other sites haven't answered my questions all year and it seems pointless to stick with them. i'm coming to you in hope that you can really bail me out of a .500 season. Trying to 4 peat in my league.Ok, so im a 4-4 owner in a 10 team ppr league. I've won this league 3 years running but this year im full of underachievers. Qb's are very valuable in my league as the average qb will score from 40-50 pts while the rest of the positions score 20-35. the qb's get points per completion and 5 per td. including the 1 per 10 yard standard. Running backs will score on average 20-25 but the great running backs will score 30+ (i.e chris johnson got 47 on his recent game, mjd gets 33+ on his breakouts) and wide receivers are sort of in the same boat as the rbs (wes welker gets 35+ on his 10 catches and 150 yard games reggie wayne gets 35 plus) i know the scoring is strange but its high scoring and the only mess up is how over valued the qb's are but we can't change that 8 games into the season now can we? ANYWAYSThe league is Start 2 qb, 2 rb, 1 rb/wr 2 wr's 1 te a few idps and the rosters are very deep considering its a 10 team leagueQB: Phillip Rivers, Vince Young, Matthew staffordRB: Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton, Pierre Thomas, Lynch, Mccoy and Ryan MoatsWR: Roddy White, Wes Welker, Fitzgerald, Collie, Jerricho CotcheryTE: Celek, OlsenD: Jets, BengalsK does it matter? KeadingRight now i'm in a bind at qb. Trust me when i say there is no one in the free agency pool (not even Jamarcus russell) and the trade deadline is Tomorow at 12. I absolutly refuse to give away my top 3 wrs and chris johnson. what is steve slaton worth in a trade? Who do you like better for the rest of the season Pierre Thomas or Steve slaton? Brent celek or Greg Olsen?right now i'm in trade talks with another 4-4 team for eli manning for a package but don't know what, the 7-1 team for donovan mcnabb but he's asking for way too much (fitzgerald or welker etc) and i don't want to strengthen the 1st place team, and a 6-2 team for matt hasslebeck for pierre thomas. Last but not least i'm in a position where i might end up going with vince young on the hopes that he breaks out. but nvm that, in the fantasy playoffs (championship week 16 to be exact) if i was to make it there it would be tennesse vs. San Diego Chargers. lets forget about who the qb's are for a second and can you tell me is that a really bad idea to have the two qb's play eachother in a very important game and start them?I Know this is alot but I would be an instant fan and promoter of this site to all my fantasy football players if these questions get answered because i've tried so many other places and get nothing all season long
not that I know of. I would happy to help in any way. I play in a variety of different leagues and can give input. I would also lok at the thread started by GregR about how to set up a league.Jeff,Are there any strategy articles for help starting up a new dynasty league that address things like number of teams and players?
Can you link me to that thread? I have played in a keeper league for a couple of seasons now and would like to try a dynasty league. I saw myfantasyleague.com allows you to sign up free midseason as a tryout and was thinking of starting up a league there. But, I don't know how many teams I need or how large the rosters need to be.not that I know of. I would happy to help in any way. I play in a variety of different leagues and can give input.
