Jeff, I am relatively new to dynasty and have enjoyed keeping up with your thoughts and advice in this thread. I am in a 12 team PPR league in it's second season. On the surface it looks like you are overpaying but I actually like the deal since Boldin is on the downside of his career. One other QB I like to target is Romo is a Cassel +either Boldin or the pick type of initial offer

So the owner of the team with Brees left the league and now this team has a new owner. Made this original offer with no suucess and now have the following on the table:Cassel, Hillis, 1.10 forBrees, Bush, Lynch, McCluster and 2.07What do you think about this offer?

When you have this type of offer, the biggest thing to consider is what are you trying to do. Are you wanting to win in the near term or build through youth. You have a team that could go either way. I do think you need a qb upgrade but wonder if this price is too high.

I am in year 2 in this league and would rather make a push than rebuild. What about trying to keep the 1.10 and offering Cassel and Hills for Brees and Lynch? I would be piecing together a RB starter each week but I only need to start 1 each week and could get a Vereen or Carter type with the 1.10.

If trying to win in the short term, I would keep Hillis, Felix, and your RBs, and look to package 1.10, Cassel, and a throw in for Roethlisberger or Ryan. One other option is Cassel/Crabtree for Ben or Ryan. You have a LONG offfseason, I would not advise overpaying for Brees at this point. One cheap option is Fitzpatrick whom you would not have to add much to Cassel.

Thanks for all the advice. In the end I traded Cassel, Decker, 1.10 and 2.10 for Brees, Lance Moore and the 3.02. Hopefully that was not overpaying too much. I felt like getting a top 5 Qb solved that issue and I basically gave up two draft picks to do so. Hopefully you do not come back that this was too awful.

That is a very good deal for you. I like Lance Moore quite a bit. My issue was giving up a starting (possibly elite) RRB to upgrade QB. You have a shot now with brees at QB

I like Dallas as a sleeper now that Rob Ryan is the defensive coordinator. Also, one of Arizona and SF usually ends up toward the top of the D/ST finishers

I actually would do that deal since I think Romo rebounds. Many are expecting too much from Rodgers to repeat last yr. And, Rice is a big upgrade over Jones, imo

Still need a lot in the way of depth and RB, but I feel on the whole the talent level difference is huge. I feel that I could have built differently and had a sure playoff team now, but with the ways teams are built in this league (a couple of teams with stacked rosters) I felt I had to swing for the elite players to try and compete.

I still have my own first round pick for 2012. I am considering trading it for a piece that can halp this year, as I don't think I am that far off from the playoffs if things break right. This team has had a top 2 pick for multiple years in a row, so I think a future 1st might be valued higher than it should based on purely looking at my roster.

Any thoughts on what I have done so far and what moves you would be looking to make in the future?

Hey, I like your youth. I would keep that 2012 1st since so much has to go right for you and the chance of things going south are probably higher. But, even if that happens, getting another elite piece next season would be great. I like your team for the future. One thought would be to sell the non-essential pieces (Gronkowski, Fred Jax, Avery, etc) for 2012 picks (would want at least a 1st for the trio) just to give you a chance to load up even more next year. I also would look to pick up Stanzi and other QB flyers just to address a potential shortcoming.

I would give the 5 and 12 for Williams, not 5 and 6. Ad a 50+ pick as necessary since good starters are tough to find in big leagues. I would then try to get Benn on cheap

I think all four are worth very little, if anything, unless the league rosters significantly more than 300 players. Jones and LT have the most value of the four.

no, i would hold off and try to accumulate 2012 picks since they are discounted with the focus on this year's rookie class. I might look to move the 1.11 for a 2012 1st (hoping to as high of pick as possible). This would give you three firsts next year in what looks to be a strong class. I think you could be set up in great shape if so.

I would keep Bowe and offer Moreno for his future first. You might ask for a RB prospect or additional pick first and then concede for less.

I would pass on this since you have good QBs. The only way I do this deal is if I could then turn either Schaub or Eli into a future first, something I think is doable. If this deal is offered to you, offer Schaub for a 2012 1st and maybe an older, startable WR like Ward. You have a good team and the value is ok, but I would move a QB for a 1st to make it even better.

I would do that deal, but may look to take a 3rd rounder (or both) out first. Is Braylon really that startable? Usually not is the answer I always come back with. Those are the guys I try to trade away.

I think i would prefer the Brees side. QBs in big leagues are worth a ton. Even an improvement of 5 ppg, it is magnified in the big league. Also, I would take the chance that the 2012 1st is high. Even good/stacked teams can have a bad year. You will not lose that much at FL so I would go that route. Good luck.

in ten team leagues, studs rule. I would look to take one QB and one RB at this turn, as long as Rodgers or an elite one is there. If not, wait. No need to reach. Take Andre Johnson if need be. But I do think you will get two good RBs at that turn.

You have a very good team. I think Britt and Harvin are close so it comes down to Marshall vs Stewart. Marshall was a monster in Denver but the Miami situation is abysmal until Henne is replaced. Stewart has been effective in small doses but injuries have plagued him. I think most love Stewart more than I do. I would lean to Marshall, but realize I am in minority.

not a huge Flacco fan .. and think he is fantasy overrated. Would make that move for Bradford, not Flacco. Stafford is generating buzz so you may be able to sell him as season approaches.
