Thoughts on a move like this in a 12 team standard scoring dynasty:

I give Mike Wallace

I receive Ryan Williams, Titus Young + 1.10 rookie pick

My roster:

Qb: Brady, Kolb, Mallett

RB: Murray, Mendenhall, redman, Turner, P. Thomas, Snelling, Vereen, Dwyer.

WR: Wallace, Britt, Marshall, Maclin, Little, antonio Brown, Kerley, David Nelson, Easley

TE: Davis, Winslow

As a rule I try to land the best player in any deal, but I have no first rd rookie picks and can only land a RB via trade. Because quality Rbs are scarce no one wants to deal them. I'm gambling big time on Williams ability to split carries with Wells initially and ultimately take over as the lead back. I'd also be hoping Young can become a nice #2 Wr with upside. The pic I would probably package in a deal for a better piece or pick.

In general, I do not like the deal unless you are a huge Williams fan. Seems like you are taking three big risks in exchange for a pretty sure thing.

Okay well the Romo owner has offered the 1.1 colllege pick and Romo for Brady. Meanwhile the Rivers owner offers me the 1.2 college pick. You probably know my team too well from all my questions but it is in my signature below. Salaries are similar for Brady, room, and rivers. I am thinking that I old use a RB. The 1.1 and 1.2 translate into RG3 or Doug Martin, Lamar Smith, Doug Wilson basically it is like the 1.5 pick in a traditional draft.

Thoughts? Any help, as always, is much appreciated

I would probably see if Rivers owner will add a little more in. While it is common to focus in on the 1.1 vs the 1.2 the bigger issue is whether you like Romo or Rivers better. I like RG3, Miller, and Martin but will want to see where they land before assuming value. Comes down to which QB you like better ... if Rivers, ask him to sweeten the offer.

I do prefer Rivers over romo. Not sure if I will do this but told him I would have to consider seriously rivers, 1.2 and his choice of ridley, leshoure, Baldwin, Daniel Thomas

Hey, this time next year, I expect Foster, McCoy, Richardson, MJD, and Peterson to be the top five with Jamaal Charles and Kendall Hunter on the edge. These would be two I would target this offseason. At WR, I think Stevie Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, Demaryius Thomas, Sidney Rice, and Percy Harvin all could be Top 5 (while off radar this offseason). Would try to by this group on the relative cheap.

Brady is such a stud and I might wait to see if/how NE upgrades the WRs. Neither of these deals are extremely good so you can afford to wait.

That's true. I am not really blown away by either deal. Strange that neither owner would offer more. Makes me wonder about the true difference of having an elite QB and what that incremental value is worth at other positions. Or because it is a dynasty league whether are hesitant because Brady will only be elite for 1-2 more years? Either way, makes sense not to jump at these offers now.

I did get him to sweeten the offer to include Jonathan Baldwin who can is only $1. I am happy with it. In addition to rivers who I do prefer over romo, I will draft whoever falls to me at 1.2 or maybe try to move up to snag RG3 who would sit nicely behind rivers. Thank you for your advice. It not only got the offer up from the 1.5 but also landed me a dirt cheap Baldwin!

If you were to take Matt Waldman's approach of looking only 2-3 years (is your time horizon is longer?), then Brady is his #3 overall rated player according to the dynasty rankings. This compares to both Rivers and Jones who are much lower. I'm trying to reconcile all these facts. If Brady delivers 2-3 more elite season versus an inconsistent Rivers, would it not actually be a fair offer? Especially when adding RGIII into the deal? I'd be giving up a young WR but would be gaining a top QB option and could would still have either Green or Jones AND Blackmon to build around. Plus I have the first developmental pick so I would be able to draft Sammy Watkins or Robert Woods and could reload in terms of WRs.All that said, I think weighing the values, the difference between Brady and Rivers over the next 5 years is not great with Brady winning early and Rivers winning later. The next piece of the deal would be RGIII versus Julio Jones who can both be kept for the same dollars ($2 base with sliding scale for each additional year - up to $15 for 10 years). I think this is where things get dicey because Jones' value >> RGIII value. Although, if I were to get Brady, then RGIII would be a nice replacement.I think in our auction I am more likely to find a good/top WR in the auction versus a top QB or RB which will be very scarce. I do not think it is close enough for a counter, to be honest. The FBG staffers differ on dynasty approaches .... I just would not be selling Julio/Green unless the offer was something just short of an offer for Calvin Johnson. This offer, or a counter, is not in that ballpark.

Thanks Jeff. I think I just need to radically accept that this owner is valuing Brady above and beyond any sort of reasonable value. I think you are correct. Jones and green at $2 are like younger, cheaper Calvin Johnson. Whew! Thanks for the intervention. I was blinded by Brady fever. Hi Jeff, I meant to follow up. What is your approach from a strategy dynasty perspective? How many years out do you tend to look? Do you look to build around a strong QB and WRs? Especially in leagues where you start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs?

I have build my team around stafford and WRs. I must build my RBs through the draft and yearly auction, but that avoids me having to risk too much by investing in running backs who tend to get hurt eventually.

Lastly, I have a related specific question. Dollar values aside. Who would you rather own Stafford or Brady for my team below?

Thank you! I just made a deal where I swapped Blackmon and other nonessential stuff for trent Richardson. He might not be elit but it was my best shot at getting a top back and he is only $2. So now I have at least 1 RB to build around.

I think Richardson ends up in Cleve or TB, with the Rams a longshot. If he lands in Cleve, I see Richardson as a late first rounder, a 3rd rounder in redraft if going to TB, and 7+ if StL.

Want to revisit as we get closer to when my keepers need to be submitted. Rules are that you lose the draft pick of the round where you want to keep a keeper. So, if you drafted a keeper in the 5th round and you keep said player, you lose your 5th round pick. WW pickups are your last round pick. So, if you keep 2 guys off of the WW, you lose your last two round picks. Can't keep 1st - 3rd round picks (which I already dumped for prospective keepers). Can keep 3 players total, and indefinitely. League format is 12 team non-PPR, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, Flex RB/WR, TE, D/ST, K, 5 bench.

Graham is a no brainer, so that's one. I'm thinking strongly to keeping Flynn and gambling on him being the real deal, since I'm not completely sold from a value perspective of keeping Matt Ryan as a 6th, and Flynn working out would be a huge trump card for years to come. If he could just crack the top 10 I think I'm sold. At WR, I'm confused but leaning Lloyd with Brady throwing to him, only doubt is the number of mouths to feed in that offense. I like Antonio Brown, but I'm not sold on him totally as a keeper vs. Lloyd. And what to do with the Smith/LeShoure combo? Do you think one of them wins out over Best in Detroit? I had Best and dropped him, I don't even want to keep him. Also, if you feel strongly about one of them, who to bump at WR/Flynn?

I think I would avoid QB all together unless sold on Flynn. Graham is a huge coup. I would also go with Antonio Brown and LeShoure (closely over Rice).

I'm thinking of taking a flier on Leshoure and his injury for the potential in this offense.

What do you think about trading 1.14 ($3) & Jacoby Ford ($1) for Leshoure ($21)?

What do you think of offering my 1.10, Ford and a throw in for Mendenhall & Dwyer, we have already discussed this and I think he will go for it. I updated the rankings this weekend. They are PPR. I, too, am very high on Hernandez and am trying to acquire him in every league which I need a TE. I think his receptions are much more repeatable than Gronk's TDs. I like the situation in AZ a lot, but the injury was a nasty one. I have him higher than many just because of my lack of faith in Wells. If healthy, I see that as his job to lose

Jeff,I have been trying to move down like you said but just got this offer: My Nelson, Crabtree, Pierre Thomas and 2.02 for Lynch,1.06, 1.10, 1.12, Knox and Amendola

It is risky giving up Nelosn, but I like it. Would counter leaving Knox/PThomas out of the deal. Further, when the draft starts, I would look to take K Wright, RG3, D Wilson, or DMartin at 1.06 and one of that group at 1.10. If gone at 10, then look to sell the pick for a future 1st. Then, try to sell the 1.12 for a future 1st. This will load you up for the future. On guy at 2.02 or 1.12 I like a lot is R Randle. But, having three first rounders next year would be awesome. Also, you might be able to trade down from 1.06-1.08 and pick up a 2013 1st.
