Hello Jeff,

I have two WR starters on byes and Colston on IR, so I have to field a skeleton crew this weekend:

WR Bryant Johnson

WR Chad Johnson

WR/TE Bernard Berrian

Bench Sidney Rice

0.5 PPR, 8 keepers

Hank Baskett, Antonio Bryant, Devery Henderson and Lance Moore are available on waivers. Is it worth dropping Berrian to pick up a WW player with a better matchup?

I think so. Also, keep an eye on Bryant Johnson's injury. he was held out of practice today. I think I like Baskett the best of those. Bryant would be my second choice if you need another starter.

2 wr on waiver wire and i have first option...non ppr

tj hous

colston

which player would you prefer over the rest of the season?

thanks for your thoughts...

Byes and tough matchups are hurting me this week. Regular scoring who do you think I should start:

Need to pick one between Ike Hilliard, Antonio Bryant, or Matt Jones (own Jones but other two are available)

And then I need two between Forte, Slaton, Michael Bush, and Mendenhall (own all)

Thanks for all the help.

I like Bryant over Matt Jones. At RB, Forte and Slaton would be my choice. Mendenhall has a very tough matchup and Bush will be sharing carries.

Hello Jeff,

0.5 PPR, 6/pass td, -3/int 8-Keeper League

I have Steve Slaton and two owners have shown some interest in him. Is now the best time to deal him or might it be best to wait and see if his value increases over the next five weeks: @JAX, IND, MIA, DET, CIN. What kind of value would you be happy to get for him at this point in the season? I'm not a believer in Slaton, but he is in the right system to succeed as an undersized back and he is a starting rookie RB with questionable competition.

Here is my roster:

QB David Garrard, Jac QB

OP Jay Cutler, Den QB

RB Chris Perry, Cin RB

RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB P

RB/WR Steve Slaton, Hou RB

WR Bryant Johnson, SF WR

WR Chad Johnson, Cin WR

WR/TE Bernard Berrian, Min WR

TE Todd Heap, Bal TE

K Nate Kaeding, SD K

Bench Peyton Manning, Ind QB

Bench Reggie Wayne, Ind WR

Bench Roy Williams, Det WR

Bench Ronnie Brown, Mia RB

Bench DeAngelo Williams, Car RB

Bench John Carlson, Sea TE

Bench Sidney Rice, Min WR P

IR Marques Colston*, NO WR O

IR Maurice Morris, Sea RB

P.S. Should I drop Heap or Carlson for a TE like Jerramy Stevens or Billy Miller? I'm losing faith in Heap for this season and Carlson may lose targets to WRs as the season marches on.

I would keep Slaton because the schedule gets much easier after this week. On the TE, I would hold pat for now and start Carlson after the bye.

Heya Jeff,

What do you think about Buckhalter starting over westy this weekend? Going up vs Bears 3rd rush D in the league...

Heya Jeff, What do you think about Buckhalter starting over westy this weekend? Going up vs Bears 3rd rush D in the league...
I would only play Buck if Westy is out. Buck makes a decent RB2 this week. I would expect something like 75-100 total yards and .3-.5 chance of a TD.

Hi Jeff

Which WR out of these 5 would you start week #4?

1. Baskett at CHI

2. Patten vs SF

3. Walter at Jax

4. McCareins vs Minn

5. Lance Moore vs SF

Also which RB out of these 3 would you start:

1. Buckhalter at CHI

2. Grant at TB

3. T.Jones vs Arizona

And lastly which Kicker would you start:

1. Pratter at KC

2. Folk vs Wash

Thanks and have a great weekend!!!

Well, these are not too bad. I like Ryan Grant this week. It seems as though he is healthy. Also, I like Baskett this week with Westbrook and LJ Smith nicked up. Antonio Bryant had a huge game against the Bears last week. At kicker, I think you go with Prater because I think Denver puts up some points this week.

I like Buck and thought he looked good the other night. This is a tough matchup this week. On Baskett vs Moore. Philly should be passing a ton if Westy misses. In addition Reggie Brown is not healthy. So, Baskett could have another big game. Moore is a good wr, just hard to know what to expect from NO. They do throw it a ton, which helps.

Jeff,

14 team PPR league need to make a few decisions:

TE

Heap vs Pitt

McMichael vs Bills

Then need one for my flex:

Mewelde vs Ravens- thinking the Steelers will need to pass in order to win and Mewelde should be the RB on passing downs (should get some dump offs to take the heat off of Ben) and also spell the rookie for a few carries.

Heap or McMichael- use the one at flex that I don't start at TE

Ray Rice vs Steelers- if McGahee is out

1 more for another PPR league:

Daniels vs Titans

Gage vs Texans

I like McMichael this week in a game that should be out of hand early. At flex, I like Mewelde. He is a sneaky play this week in PPR leagues. As for the other league, I would start Gage.

Jeff,

In what order would you rank these 3 players in a PPR dynasty:

Steve Slaton

Roy Williams

Chris Chambers

Trying to trade Warner & Leinart to another team that is desperate for a QB.

QB question for this week:

I have Roethlisberger on my roster to start (I have Hasselback on bye), but I also have the option of picking up free agent QBs, including Garrard, Griese, Collins, Schaub, Huard, Orton etc.

Are any of these free agents worth picking up for a spot start this week over Roethlisberger?

My league's scoring for QBs: 6 points per TD pass

1 point per every 20 yards passing

5 point bonus for 300+yards passing

2 point bonus for 350+yards passing

Thanks

Heya Jeff,

What do you think about these 5 RBs this week?

Lynch vs Stl

Grant vs TB

Johnson vs Min

Jones vs GB

Perry vs Cle

I'm starting Lynch and Perry right now...Grant would be nice if he rebounds...Johnson has a terrible matchup...Jones could be nice, and he has scored in every other game so far this year. Lynch is solid. Do you think I should switch out Perry for Grant or Jones??

I would have them in the same order, even though Roy is worth more. If asking for Slaton, you might ask for a pico pr QB prospect back. Neither of the two WRs is any better (fantasy-wise) than a slew of less expensive options.

I think I would start Ben. The others are risky. Also, the Ravens have some injuries. With FWP out, Ben might have to throw more than normal.

I might be a sucker (well, probably so), but I would go with Lynch and Grant. Perry does little for me and offers less upside. Forte had a good week vs TB and Grant should, too.

Thanks. Speaking of team defense, I have the Ravens & Patriots. The Eagles are available on waiver. Would you drop the Patriots to pick up the Eagles? And, if I picked the Eagles D up, would you start them over the Ravens this week?

yes, I like the Eagle defense. I would take them over NE. They gets sacks and turnovers.

Hi Jeff,

Couple questions for a couple of leagues. Both standard scoring, non-PPR.

League 1:

Should I go with E.Royal (@KC) or Driver (@TB)?

League 2:

Pick 2 of 4 RBs: Graham (vs. GB), Slaton (@JAC), Felix Jones (vs. WAS), McFadden (vs. SD)

Also, I needed two WRs to replace Moss and Wayne on bye. So far I have DeSean Jackson (@CHI) and Ike Hilliard (vs. GB), but E.Royal (@KC), R.White (@CAR), Baskett (@CHI), Bruce and B.Johnson (@NO) are all available as FAs. Should I pick up one of them instead?

Thanks in advance!

League one is a close one. I think Driver will be more involved than Royal in the offense. TB gave up big production brandon lloyd of all people last week.Felix Jones is the easiest for me to dismiss. I think I would start Graham and Slaton, because I do not know what to think about mcfadden's toe injury. If he is healthy and playing, I would be tempted to start him over Graham.I like all three: royal, white, and baskett better than hilliard. desean is a must start and i would choose royal or white off the waiver wire, prob white.

8 player keeper league & 1 player has to be a rookie , 10 teams, standard scoring with all TD's 6 points even for QB's & no PPR.

Starting lineup 1QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 Flex(RB, WR, or TE)

My Roster.

QB J. Culter, P. Rivers

RB's R. Brown, J. Addai, J. Lewis, J. Stewart, D. McAllister, L. McClain

WR's R. Moss, S. Smith(Car), J. Cotchery, G. Jennings, K. Curtis, B. Engram

TE's Chis Cooley, V. Davis

I have been offered S. Jackson for S. Smith and 2009 2nd round pick which will be in the top of the round.

I also have two 1st round picks for the 2009 draft.

Whould you do this trade it would leave me with a weak starting lineup for this week and I would have no 2nd round picks next year.

I think I would do that deal. Your rbs could be thin with another Brown injury and the age of lewis and deuce. I think I would do this deal and drop Deuce or McClain for a waiver wire wr. It upgrades your starters, giving you moss, cotch, and jennings at wr and addai, sjax, and brown or stewart.

Hey Jeff,

Need some help with my starters,

Team 1

12 team H2H keeper auction league,

1 pt/10 yards receiving or rushing

1 pt/25 yards passing

6 pts all TD

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

I have both Moss and Megatron on bye. My team is not doing the best due to poor QB(Garrard and Young) and underachievers(Moss and Holmes).

QB- Schaub or Collins. I am up against the best team in the league here so I'm thinking Schaub because he has a better chance of putting up more points.

RB- Going with Lynch and Lewis

WR/TE- Holmes, Cooley for sure. I have Derick Mason, Sidney Rice, Reggie Brown and hopefully Lance Moore if I win the bid. So after Cooley and Holmes who should I go with. Josh Reed and McCareins are on the WW. I know these are all bad options but just looking for upside here with my bye week and going against the best team.(Cutler, Turner, Fitz, Marshall, Edwards, I'm dead)

Team 2

12 team points league

1pt/10 receiving

1pt/15 rushing

6 pts all TD's

Really hurting in this league after losing Colston and Burleson and possibly Westbrook for the week(lineups lock at 2 pm ET).

QB- Cutler

RB(2)- Probably going Graham and Jonathon Stewart here. Westbrook is GTD i think and I couldn't get his backup. I also have Chris Johnson and Jerious Norwood

WR(3)- Fitz, then my options are slim due to Colston and Burleson injuries. I have Lance Moore and Walter currently. Picked up Engram to help until Colston gets back

WW wide receivers are:

M. Jenkins, D. Mason, R. Meachem, Josh Reed. M. Muhammad, D. Northcutt, S. Rice, J. McCareins. Again, not the best options but what two WR besides Fitz would you go with. I am actually in second place in this league even with the big injuries, just looking for some solid numbers this week. Thanks.

Cutler and Marshall are the only ones to worry about on that team. I would go with Schaub, the two rbs and wrs you have listed and Moore if you win the bid. I would go with Reed if not. Maybe he will do well against the bad Rams.

Moore and Walter could have decent games this week. Muhsin, Meachem, and Jenkins are the only ones with big upside. I would keep Moore and Walter if you are looking for the sure points. Muhsin and Meachem are the guys if you are wanting less safe WRs with big upside. At RB, Stewart is a great play. Graham vs Chris Johnson is close for me. I think the Bucs will lean on Graham this week after the Bears limited the run last week. But, I think Johnson gets more touches, so I would go with him.

WW wide receivers are:

M. Jenkins, D. Mason, R. Meachem, Josh Reed. M. Muhammad, D. Northcutt, S. Rice, J. McCareins. Again, not the best options but what two WR besides Fitz would you go with. I play in a 10-team high performance, PPR league. We start 1QB, 2RBs, 2WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex RB/WR/TE, 1 DT, 1 K

Current roster:

Roethlisberger, Hasselbeck

Westbrook, FWP, McGahee, Norwood, C-Buck, Sproles

S. Smith, Holt, L. Coles, Harrison

Fasano, H Miller

Ravens, Patriots

Akers

First off, I'm wondering if it's worth picking up free agents like Pierre Thomas, Hank Baskett, Chansi Stuckey, Bryant Johnson, Matt Jones, M. Bush, Fargas, Josh Reed, Garrard, Schaub, K Collins, Kitna, etc. to replace anyone currently on my roster.

Second, what would be your preferred starting lineup this week?

Thanks

I will assume that there are not limits to how many at each position you have to roster. I would drop the NE Defense, and Hasselbeck this week, and Heath Miller (after this week). I would load up on rb and wr depth. I would roster Pierre Thomas, Michael Bush and Stuckey. You can drop as needed to cover byes. In a 10 team league, there is usually always decent talent on the waiver wire. So, this week:Ben @ QB is easy. Your RBs make it tough because of the injuries. I think I would start Buckhalter since I doubt Westbrook is close to full strength. I might start Mike Bush but that is risky as well. McFadden is 50/50 to play. I would consider Pierre over Mike Bush. After waffling, I think I would go with Pierre at home vs the 49ers. Willis is questionable and splitting time. It is tough choice all the way around. At RB, I would go with the three you have: Holt, Coles, and Smith. Miller has to start at TE, as well as the Balt defense.I totally feel for the injuries your team has suffered. Your top three runners are injured. It will get better. The injuries are one fo the reasons I think the RB/WR depth is a good thing. good luck this week.

I like the move. 10 team leagues are all about studs. If you make the move, you will be reliant on Slaton and Brown, which should be fine. I would make the offer.

Hey Jeff...

Early Bye Week Pickup need at TE w/ Winslow out---here are the guys on the WW

Scaife (TEN)

ZMiller (OAK)

Carlson (SEA)

Shiancoe (MIN)

Also, looking to drop Derek Anderson, I have Warner. Here are my options:

I have Thomas Jones sitting on the bench, never play em' and Farve likes to air it out-- thinking about what talent is sitting on the Waiver and...

Steve Slaton and Fred Jackson who do you like better...plus my league is a PPR

THANKS

I need to trade either Portis or Barber. My WR core is hurting. Colston, B Edwards, Calvin J, Welker, M Jones and then scrubs.

This is my team:

http://football25.myfantasyleague.com/2008...O=07&F=0010

It's a 12 team dynasty league.

We start 2 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE, 2 K...etc

Would trading M Barber for McFadden and one of these WR's (Boldin, Jennings, Roy Williams) be fair? Thinking of offering it to this team: http://football25.myfantasyleague.com/2008...O=07&F=0002
Jennings and Boldin are tops of the group. i am not a Roy fan. Each Boldin (neck injury) and Jennings (Rodgers injury). I think I would keep Barber and offer Portis and a throw in wr like matt jones for Boldin (or Jennings) and fred taylor. I really like Jennings.

Hey Jeff...

Early Bye Week Pickup need at TE w/ Winslow out---here are the guys on the WW

Scaife (TEN)

ZMiller (OAK)

Carlson (SEA)

Royal (BUF)

Shiancoe (MIN)

ZMiller or Carlson

Also, looking to drop Derek Anderson, I have Warner. Here are my options:

JTO' or Schaub

JTO is safer ...

I have Thomas Jones sitting on the bench, never play em' and Farve likes to air it out-- thinking about what talent is sitting on the Waiver and...

Steve Slaton and Fred Jackson who do you like better...plus my league is a PPR I LOVE SLATON >>> Jones

THANKS

Jeff,

Big question for you.

Last week I picked up Bobby Engram hoping he'll be big coming back healthy for Seattle's depleted WR core.

It turns out the guy who drafted Branch cut him.

So the question is (no extra roster space):

Do I hang onto Engram or cut him for Branch, who will be the most productive going forward this season?

Non-PPR BTW.

I know Branch's tendency to get hurt and he's coming back a little early but can be more explosive.

Engram had 90+ catches last year.

This is a tough one. It is tough to know right now. What I do know is that Branch was awesome before getting hurt, but Engram had the better season. I think I would keep Engram only because it seems as though Branch is always hurt. Also, the difference is Engam's injury was to his elbow so there was not an excuse for him staying in shape while Branch's was his knee.

Hey Jeff, need some help here, thinking of trading Moss.

12 team H2H auction Keeper. Keep 3 players for max of 3 years. Can keep unlimited number of rookies(salary depends on round taken 10 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, etc)

Scoring:

1 pt/25 yds passing

6 pts/rushing td

6 pts/catching td

1 pt/10 yrd receiving

1 pt/10 yds rushing

Basic scoring for DEF and K

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR(TE's also WR), 1 K, 1 DEF.

QB- Schaub($1), Collins($1), Rosenfels($1)

RB- Lynch($48), Lewis($22), Maurice Morris($4), M. Bush, Jason Wright, Jerome Harrison, and Brad Jackson(all for $1)

WR- Moss($40), Calvin Johnson($20), Holmes($16), Chris Cooley($11) D. Mason($3), R. Brown($7),Sidney Rice(4)

Chris Henry($1)

K- Crosby($1)

DEF- Buffalo($1)

Rookie Squad: Chris Johnson, Malcolm Kelly, Early Doucet, Josh Johnson

I traded Garrard and Sammy Morris for Schaub, was a bit of a gamble but I liked what I saw this week from Schaub. Still looking to trade Moss and looking for a WR who is really struggling now in return. I am trying to get Andre Johnson($31). I know this is a reach and I probably can't go straight up with him. Both receivers have struggled but I like Johnson's chances of getting back on track a lot more. Anyway this deal could get done? If not who would I have to add?

I give Moss($40) and J. Lewis($22) for Johnson($31) and B. Jacobs($31) or Thomas Jones($17). The guy is pretty stacked at WR/TE with Johnson, Wayne, Santana Moss and Witten as well as DeSean Jackson on his bench. Should I try to make a trade or just stand pat. Currently 2-2 and just beat the best team in the league(Could have been 3-1 if Barber didn't blow up two weeks ago and I got more production out of my QB, Holmes and Moss)

I would think the Johnson owner would do that deal straight up. I do not know if it is for you .. but I am sure he would do it. Johnson has not done much this season. I would definitely try to do the deal with Jacobs. I am not really a believer in Jamal right now. Not a great performance against a WEAK bengal defense. Avoid tom jones.
