Want to move somewhere warm. Where to go? (1 Viewer)

Full of what?
Humanity. 950 newbs everyday. It's insane. I'm glad my property is skyrocketing but I'm dug in. I feel blessed to have found rural space close to everything yet still far, far away. Things are changing though, they're extending 589 north about 10 miles from our house. It will make my Tampa/St. Pete escapades quicker but I don't want truck stops/fast food etc popping up in Citrus Co.

It's a great place to live. Would love to return there one day.
I'll be there tomorrow. In the '80's I visited once a week for my job, driving from S. Jax Beach. There's some new stuff we're gonna check out:

Ron Parker Park on Anastasia Island, I'm a pickleball junkie and love visiting new public courts and mixing it up with the locals.

Torture Museum on St. George St.

Ice Plant/Distillery

Meehans Irish Pub and Oyster Bar

Over here, Port St Lucie is exploding, it’s got a higher population than Fort Lauderdale now. Thankfully I get to work before most of them are even awake, and since I’m an electrician, I have lots of construction buildings to work on, with more coming.

The biggest thing is the waiting.  It's a few weeks before you can take possession but it's just filling out paperwork and waiting.  Not ideal but not impossible.
The key is subduing your emotions about the person you plan to kill. (Otherwise, who gives a #### about wait times?)

Personally, I like states with no state income taxes and doing stuff outdoors. Three great ones are Florida, Tennessee, and Nevada. I also like going to the casino/poker room so that rules out Tennessee (I don't think they have gambling, right?). That would leave Florida and Nevada.

I guess Texas has no state income too but their gambling options are limited I believe.
Memphis is about a 30-40 min drive from Tunica where there are poker rooms / Casinos. It's no vegas but the Horseshoe has a solid room.

Anecdote about current state of North Florida real estate. Wife's friend and her husband bought new construction in fast-growing St. Johns County. They are just putting up houses in these developments as fast as they can get the lumber delivered.

Anyway, they have to sell their current house in Duval.  Decent 3/2 1960s ranch in an okay (but not upscale) part of town. Yard just big enough for pool etc. Met with realtor Thursday night. Put it on market Saturday.  Sold in 2 hours above asking price.  Buyer is their neighbors daughter who had missed out on 2 other homes in neighborhood.
Yea, nothing new. Market all over is nuts. Same here. I'm not buying at top of market. I'll rent for a year & let it settle.

As is South Carolina.

Charleston, specifically, is full.
Well if you're going to get specific, Fort Mill is full up as well.

I hear Clover has room and they cleared some land last night with the tornado so you got that going for you.

Come on down to Florida if you don't mind 95° 5+ months, humidity, mosquito's, and traffic.
Florida is brutal in the summer.  And closed.  We've been trying to run people off for over a year with our covid policies.  Seems to just be attracting more though.  I swear there's people on the news nightly saying they're moving here specifically to get out of locked down states.

I have friends in South Fl so I am very familiar with the weather. Again, I am not a fan of winter.
