It seems like there is one player that is on a large percentage of championship teams every year. I suspect that a huge percentage of championship teams had Gurley on them this year.

If Gurley was NOT on your team, post your team below.

If you had Gurley on your team and made it to the semifinals, it seems like it would have been very difficult to lose. Two straight 40+ point games from a single player is just ridiculous.

The guy that had Gurley II in our league lost because Antonio Brown got hurt mid-game.

He clearly had the best team, but bad luck.

Gurley owner in our league had by far the best team but was pretty unlucky- didn't win the regular season, was upset in the 1st round by a team that really blew up.

The Chiefs offensive duo led me to the title.  League was very top and bottom heavy.  I got the 5th seed with a 6-7 record.  Took out the #1 and #2 seed.

The only redraft teams I do are national type contests that have league playoffs in weeks 12-13 or 11-12 so those won championships but I know you are asking about typical leagues with playoffs weeks 14-16. With that in mind I'll just look at this from a dynasty angle:

In 8 dynasty leagues I'm in the Gurley owner won 7 of them and finished second in the other.  Gurley helped win me 3 championships, two which were not close the other by just a few points. The league where the Gurley owner finished second was the one league I traded Gurley away this past off-season, my team ended up third in that one and for sure trading Gurley cost me the championship in that league.

To show how huge his impact was. The team of mine that won by a few points does playoffs as total points for weeks 14-16 and during that time I was without Deshaun Watson so down to just Carr at QB, Mixon for two games and early exit the other one, AB out a game and an early exit, Cooper out a few games and deemed unusable from health angle the other games, Sanders out, and in a TE premium league I had long ago lost Reed and then lost Hunter Henry for final week. Long story short without what I consider my QB1, RB2, WR1, WR3, WR4, TE1 and TE2 for all or most of the 3 week playoffs with a few early exits thrown in to boot. But Gurley.

In our work league with two mini-leagues, Gurley owner was in both title games and won one. The overall Super Bowl champion of both leagues had Gurley. The one team who won the title and didn't had Le'Veon Bell and Kareem Hunt though, so not exactly luck either there.

Guy with Gurley got bounced in the first round so he didn’t get to reap the benefits of the monster weeks. He would have lost to me if we played in either round even with Gurley though.

Had Gurley and went 13-1 but lost in 1st round of playoffs.  Luckily our league pays for seeding and playoffs so I still won some $

Dynasty: YES $$$$$

Redraft: No, I’m playing the guy who has him this week.

ETA: I won in both.

Different leagues. Yes, no, yes, yes but tbd.

The TBD is a week 17 SB, 32 teams with two copies of each player. Both SB teams have Gurley.

One of my champion teams had Gurley.

One of my teams beat Gurley/Gordon in week 14. Hunt, Ingram, Gronk and t Hill combined to win by 5, with the 3rd and 5th highest score of the year.

Yes for my league.

Gurley outscored the combo of Foles, Kamara, McKinnon, Goodwin, Bryant and Ertz by 8 points.

Guy won total points by about 200, but was doubled up in the Super Bowl 138 to 68.

R Wilson, L Fournette, M Gordon, R Anderson, J Smith Schuster, Gronk
Beats out his Gurley/ Kamara combo with N Foles and M Crabtree meltdown.

I lost in the wildcard round with Gurley and a 46 point lead going into Monday
when his Drake/Landry combo puts up 49+

No.

I won the title against the Gurley owner. He had Cooks, Thielen, and Jeffrey all lay major eggs in the final.

My team- Brady, Bell, McCoy, Julio, Sheperd, Wallace, Engram, and Butker won the non-ppr title 94-89.

Butker is my finals mvp with 18 points.

In the 4 money leagues I play in, he was on 1 league winner.  Gurley team beat me by 3 in the final game in that league.  Fitz tried to win it for me, but just a little short.  Other guy was texting me that Fitz was gonna do him in after the first half.  I assured him that whenever Fitz has a huge first half, they stop throwing to him in the 2nd half.  Unfortunately, I was right and he only had 1 catch in the 2nd half.

No, but he was on the team that knocked me out of the playoffs in one league & the team that beat me in the championship in the other league.

and both those teams won their respective LCGs.

Yep, and set a record for most most points in the 3 week tournament (something like 525, over 180 in the quarterfinals & semifinals. He took Freeman/Gurley at 1.12/2.01, Hopkins/McCaffery at the next turn, Big Ben late as his QB1. Only weakness was TE (the big 3-4 all missed the playoffs or got bounced in the 1st round.)

Gurley was clearly the best value of the draft and Kamara (undrafted or a late round lottery ticket) the pickup of the year.

The Gurley owner in my big league also had Bell.......he romped to the title.

My auction keeper league I won without Gurley.....that league, the Gurley owner was 4-9.  He had Gurley and pretty much nothing else.

My lineup was

QB - Big Ben

Superflex - Prescott

RB - Fournette, Lewis

Flex - Collins

WR - Julio, DT, Crowder

TE - Gronk

K - Lutz

D - JAX

Didn't even make the freaking playoffs. Guy's about to set a damn record and I couldn't even get into the playoffs with him.

Won both of my leagues without him. The gurley owner finished dead last in 1 league and lost in the first round in the other.

1 of my teams was keyed by Melvin Gordon, kamara (drafted late)and Cam for most of the year. Got very lucky in the finals after a huge semi final week.

Other team was powered by Zeke and Rodgers early in the season and goff, Keenan Allen, Dion lewis and Larry Fitzgerald late.  (With Jordan Howard steady throughout). Got absurdly lucky in the semis with my opponent losing brown mid game and both his starting rb's (fournette and mixon)before the games started. Rolled in the finals.

Had jags d on both teams. Thanks to the FBG's defense by committee article and some of my own foresight

I liked gurley as a 2nd rounder preseason but just missed him in both drafts

I beat the Gurley owner for the title in 1 league. I started the year with Ingram & Zeke as my starting RBs then traded Zeke away before the suspensions. I ended up with Fournette as my Rb2.

Gurley owner in my league also had Bell and went 0-2 in the playoffs.  I beat them and went on to win the championship with an RB combo of L. Murray and Burkhead(week 15) and Murray/Gillislee(week 16).  Gronk, Gould, Goodwin and Ravens D carried me in week 15 over Gurley and co.

This was me. The guy I faced had Big Ben, Hunt, and M Thomas. I still put up the 2nd highest point total. Week 16 I outscored the champ by 40 points. FF sucks sometimes.

He was on one of my 4 Championship teams. One thing I had in common on these 4 teams: 2 RB1s and a top TE.

Used Crowell, A. Jones, D. Lewis and other ww RBs throughout the year. Had good/great WRs, plus Cam and Ertz. Played matchups with D and had highest ranking D at end of year.

Won 2 titles without him... one against him.

(PPR)

Cam / Dak

Bell / Lewis / Perine

Theilen / Green / Crabtree / Gordon

Ertz / Gank  / Ravens

(traded Brady/Cohen/Hilll for Bell/Cam mid season)

——-

(non PPR)

Ryan

McCoy / Gordon / Drake

Julio / Hill / Dez / Gordon

Graham / Lutz / Ravens

(beat Gurley)

If I were to play ff again, I would try to get Gurley and David Johnson on my team ( have to trade everything and then some if it could even be done).

But anyway, I would name my team David & Gurliath.  Don't care if they were my only two players. I would enjoy

New goal for next year

edit: maybe I’ll just settle for David(Njoku). Bench warmer upside

Are you in my league (this was me, in my redraft league).

In my dynasty league, our playoffs are Weeks 14 and 15.  Beat the guy with Gurley in Week 14, so he was out by Week 15.

Rode L. Bell, L. McCoy, and M. Ingram in Week 15 Championship game.

Won in a 12 team standard league 97-67 against the league juggernaut. I wasn’t planning on winning but won’t complain.

My starting lineup:

Goff/Collins/Drake/Cole/Dez/Kelce

Butker/Philly

His lineup:

Wilson/Bell/Kamara/Hopkins/Brandin Cooks/Engram

Pitt/Jake Elliott

He also had alshon jeffrey, dion lewis, big ben and gio on the bench.

He went 10-3 during the season and I was 7-5-1.

Gurley owner in this league washed out in the first round of playoffs.

Gurley was on neither of my championship teams

Core of 12-team draft, bestball:  AJ Green, Brees, Lynch, Ertz, Graham, Theilen, Jax D, KC K.  Bortles and K. Cole helped for the playoffs.

Core of 15-team auction, bestball:  Bell, D. Thomas, Duke Johnson, Ben, Witten, Goodwin.  Jmmy G. and Min. D helped for the playoffs.

Beat Gurley with the following lineup: Brady, Hunt, Ingram, Bryant (replaced Brown), Cooks, Kelce, CJ Anderson, Eagles D, and Gostkowski. Won the title on the Eagles’ Defensive TD vs Oakland with all zeroes on the clock.

Opponent had all kinds of injuries (A Rodgers, for one) but started Winston, Ajayi, Gurley, Hopkins, Thielen, J. James, Chargers D, and Butker.

I won by less than 2 points.
