It looks like Wayne will not follow Manning after all. I think most assumed that Wayne was a definite to go with Manning and it had a partial say to where he went. Guess not.
I didn't assume Wayne would follow manning but I thought he was done in Indy for sure. I'm very surprised. This has to be a good thing for luckIt looks like Wayne will not follow Manning after all. I have both Demaryius Thomas and Decker in a league and have been trying to move Decker until last week with limited interest. (Of course.) Now I will wait for where Manning lands and see who is willing to bid it up. Real value or not, the perception is good for business. This is huge for decker if the broncos are in fact Peyton's destination.
Wait, you're surprised the market wasn't more robust for a 33 1/2 year-old WR, coming off a down year, in many cases at least perceived to have greatly benefitted from playing with one of the greatest QBs of all-time? $17.5M over 3 years isn't robust enough for that resume?Actually it's being reported the deal is for a MAX of $17.5mm over 3 years.Really surprised the market wasn't more robust for Wayne.
BINGO! This is starting to look really bad in Miami...I know a lot of WRs are left but there are several who have signed already. I like Blackmon and would love for Miami to slide up if they must and go get him.Miami must have some HUGE red flags...
Reggie dropped 2 passes last year. 2. The problem with the rest is that they were so far over his head or skipping at his feet that nobody in their right mind could call them catchable. Is it bad that I can't even recall who played QB for the Colts last year? Trying to block it out.... Luck will be 10x better as a ROOKIE than what they had last year. Sure, Reggie is 33 years old, but he is an amazing worker, has avoided major injuries, gets open, and has tremendous hands. This is very good news for Luck...and a bump up for Reggie. I too am surprised at the money, but I think it has much more to do with AGE than anything.Wait, you're surprised the market wasn't more robust for a 33 1/2 year-old WR, coming off a down year, in many cases at least perceived to have greatly benefitted from playing with one of the greatest QBs of all-time? $17.5M over 3 years isn't robust enough for that resume?Actually it's being reported the deal is for a MAX of $17.5mm over 3 years.Really surprised the market wasn't more robust for Wayne.
Agree. I think people on sites like this just see the stat line and the age and automatically start writing guys off (because I'm certain no more than 2% of the posters here could actually stomach watching a full Colts game last year). Wayne hasn't been a speed burner for years. He is an excellent route runner who is smart and has good hands (when the QB can get it to him) and he has been THE MOST durable WR in the league for the last decade. He will be good for Luck and I have a lot of confidence that Luck will be a much better QB for Wayne than any of the jokers they had last year.Reggie dropped 2 passes last year. 2. Seriously, what is going on there? I get the Marshall trade now (on the heels of more potential bad news off the field), but I am really shocked more guys are not wanting to be there. The fact that Manning did his sit down without the owner there (specifically) speaks volumes. If they can't secure Flynn, they are going to have a rough year.BINGO! You sir are 100% correct !!Nice move for both sides. Luck has a veteran presence to help him out early on. Wayne gets to stay and play out his career in one city since nobody really wanted to offer him a huge payday. I think it makes sense for both team and player.

Agreed. A pleasant surprise in an otherwise horribly depressing offseason. I give Irsay/Grigson props for recognizing that Indy really is a "big-name" city, and removing ALL recognizable names from the team was a horrible idea. You sir are 100% correct !!Nice move for both sides.
