Week 12 Colts @ Atlanta (meh, nobody cares)

Week 13 GB @ Dallas (Could shape the battle for home field in the NFC and should really set the momentum for both teams on out. Biggest game ever on NFLN)

Week 14 CHI @ WAS (Last gasp for both teams WC chances could become really relevant in next few weeks given each teams schedule)

Week 15 DEN @ Houston (both teams 5 games under .500 yawn)

Week 15 CIN@SF (Both teams 6 games under .500 yawn)

Week 16 PIT @ STL (yikes)

Week 16 DAL @ CAR (yikes 2)

Week 17 NE @ NYG (Could this be "The game for 17-0" and for the NFCE title at the same time? Even bigger game than GB/DAL)

70%+ of non local homes will miss all these games. How long can the NFL continue this absurd path? When will congress step in and stop this nonsense?

How many non local homes would have missed them if they were regular Sunday afternoon games?
The whole "we want to keep direct ticket with DTV, but we want to force NFLN down all carriers throats" is borderline anti-trust in my eyes. Two of those games would be nationally televised at least and perhaps more depending on the week in question. For sure the two I highlighted would get top billing on fox and cbs.

Carriers are opting not to carry NFLN. How is that anti-trust? (honest question; I don't understand anti-trust law very well)

My novice understanding regarding the Packers-Cowboys game is that it will not be broadcast OTA except in the "home market" which in the Packers' case is Milwaukee and Green Bay. The rest of the state of Wisconsin (and the rest of the country) will not get this game except through the NFLN. Wisconsin is largely dominated by Time Warner, which does not carry NFLN, so those people will have to go to a bar (the horror!) or somewhere with a dish to watch this huge game.

I wish the NFLN would just die in a fire. This is the 2nd year in a row I am going to miss a Packers game. And I really want to see this one. Just absurd.

I know I can go to a bar and will but that's not the point. I want to watch the game like I always do -- in the comfort of my own home with friends and in HD on my big screen TV.

I'm in Wisconsin but not in the 50 mile home range. BS.

Why can't you switch to a carrier that has NFLN? They have an HD channel.

Why should I be forced to switch to satellite? The cable companies in Wisconsin (Charter and Time Warner) both don't carry NFLN. I hate the cable companies as much as anyone, but the NFL is really overstepping their bounds here. I'm on the cable companies side on this one and hope the NFLN dies in a fire. The NFL is getting way too greedy -- keep the games on the regular stations and ESPN that everyone has access to.Also, I don't think my apartment allows me to install a satellite dish on the building. So to get 1 more NFL game per year, I need to move and change from cable to satellite. Where does the NFL get off thinking they can make their loyal customers change their lives around them? The NFL has gotten way too greedy and needs to take their head out of their #### and start appreciating their loyal customers that have made them what they are.

 DirecTV and Dish Network both offer NFL Network HD. Do you want what they offer or not? You're obviously not being forced to switch since you haven't.

I don't understand the preference to not watch a Packers game and say "I won't be forced" than to be able watch a Packers game the way you want (in HD, in your home with family/friends)?

I need to move to get satellite as well. My apartment does not allow to add the satellite dishes all over the apartment building. So I need to move AND switch to satellite just to get 1 more game per year. Does the NFL really think many people are going to do that? Switching providers is a big enough hassle, and not worth it for 1-2 games per year for 99% of the population. I consider myself hardcore but I also resent having something forced down my throat like the NFL is trying to do, and I am going to resist that. Of course I want to be able to watch the game at home as opposed to being forced to go to a bar. If i preferred to watch in a bar I would go to a bar for every game. Is that really such a ridiculous preference to have? Nothing against bars, i go to them all the time, just not to watch football.

I live in Madison. I think there is a state law that every corner must have at least one bar. Missing the game is really not an option. I hope charter doesn't cave into the NFLN. Their demands are ridiculous. Bad enough that I have to pay for 60 channels that I've never watched. Congress needs to go to an ala carte system. Let the channels no one watches die a much needed death.

...yea just don't try to enter their fantasy contest if you're from Canada (or outside the States). Not allowed. THANKS NFL NETWORK! Glad so many of us up here are such vocal supporters!!

For those who disagree with the NFLN, email fanfeedback@nfl.com and let them know how you feel! I for one, find it ridiculous that this is how the NFL repays its fans after all they spend on season tickets, parking, concessions, jerseys, pumping up their ratings on all the other stations, and countless other ways. Take this quote from a NYG fan that I think sums it up pretty well:

I am a NY Giant season ticket holder and I spend THOUSANDS of dollars evey year to see my team play and support the players salaries, Coaches salaries, Executives salaries not to mention the money spent on gas for the hour ride to get there and the hour ride to get back plus parking for 20$ a pop, and the money spent on Beer , Soda , Dogs , Burgers etc., You get the drift. Now here it is December 30th 2006, One game to go, all is on the line and how am I repaid for my loyalty? I get to watch the bottom line on ESPN to try and keep track of what is going on! How greedey can they be.

It takes two to tango, though, no? Are the cable carriers not being greedy, as well? Shouldn't they be getting some grief from fans, too?Or, for those that have sticks-in-the-mud as landlords, can't some grief be aimed their way for limiting the TV options in their properties?

I see your point, but respectfully disagree. The NFL is trying to force the cable companies to include the NFL Network with basic cable -- forcing everyone to pay around $1/month for their channel (even people who would never watch football). If you have satellite, you are already paying this fee as part of your monthly bill. The cable companies, want to put the NFL Network in a sports tier that you only subscribe to if you want. If they did this, myself (and the vast majority of people interested in the NFL Network), woudl only subscribe to it for the 2 months a year they have games, and cancel the rest of the year. We already pay/give/support the NFL more than enough as it is. We shouldn't be forced to pay more just to watch a couple games per year. The NFL is bending us over backwards and most of you are more than happy to take it. I'm with the cable companies on this one. And as for the landlords, I'm with them too, I think it is pretty ugly to see a building with a million dishes sticking out of it. Believe me, I understand the want/need to see every game. But the way the NFL is going about is completely wrong. They should be expanding onto existing stations, not trying to force their new station down each of our throats while alienating a large part of their fan base. If this succeeds, it won't be long before they find ways to squeeze even more money out of us, or even *gasp* make some games pay per view.

I have a question for the Giants fan. If you have seaon tickets why are you at home watching espn bottom line instead of at the game in Giants Stadium? Smells fishy to me.

Maybe because the game played on December 30th, 2006 was played IN WASHINGTON!!! Your intentions smell a little fishy to me

Get this garbage.

I have NFLN. I'm happy. Last year I'm getting ready for the first game on the NFLN and what do I get? Blackout screen. Apparently even though I have the NFLN year round, I don't get the games because the NFLN wants an additional fee for each game they broadcast.

Yeesh.

Just some quick info -

NFLN is not making the same demands they made last year. The cable company I work for, which competes directly with Time Warner, is carrying the NFLN on our Digital Tier, NOT a Sports Tier. We're showing all eight games this year, and paid extra to do so. Definitely didn't have to raise our rates to accomplish this.

It's no different than us adding the Big Ten Network, having to pay extra for it, adding it to our Digital Tier right next to NFLN, and being in a Big Twelve area.

If you're siding with the cable companies, I would have agreed with you...last year. Things have changed. NFLN isn't demanding to be carried on the Basic Tier anymore (ch's 0-99), which was the major hang up last year. They've allowed companies to put them in the Digital Tier and still show games. If you have the Digital Tier, you pay extra for it already...usually around $8-$10.

TWC and other cable companies just doesn't want to pony up the money to carry NFLN, that's all it is.

Do you have a balcony that faces south? An apt complex cannot stop you from installing it if the dish is mounted somewhere on your unit that only you have access to.

I'm boycotting -- the NFL is a heavy handed ####### with a big ****-swinging ego. I'm rooting for another football league to beat some humble into those self-righteous pricks. [/venting]

I've got NFLN through Comcast. It's in their sports and entertainment package ($4.95 per month) on digital cable. I was getting it for free until about June, 2007. I didn't realize this until I went to watch some of the preseason games that were broadcast on NFLN, and couldn't. I got credited for 6 months for the package. Now if they would only add the BTN to the same package, I would be happy.

In my Apt complex you can have the dish however you have to have liability insurance for your apt. Unfortunately there is a gigantic tree in front of my balcony preventing a signal.

Anyone wanna make a quick 50 bucks and chop a tree down in the middle of the night?

Depends what part of the state you're in. Madison didn't get the NFLN game last season that featured the Packers but the Stevens Point area did.

But it is ok for the cable companies to make you purchase a whole sports package (I assume $10 or more a month) to get one channel?

The Cable Compaines have been raising the prices of cable so much that it is just silly. Why would we need to have our rates raised if they got the NFL Channell? They are ready charge to much. Bottom line the cable companies have finally found someone who will not just bow to them and their high rates.
