Weak week for WRs (1 Viewer)

By my calculations, this might have been the worst week for fantasy WR production in at least the last 6 years. I looked at the average of the top 10 fantasy WRs for each week since 2000, and this just-completed week came up last. FWIW.

NOt to mention the wide open Holt that Bulget missed in the end zone. He should have had about 90 and 1 td. Big difference between 8 and 15 points.

This is problably the best week I could have had for my WR as I own Fitz, A Johnson, Stallworth, Coles, Bryant and M Robinson in my money league. Unfortunately, I can only play two.

I agree with notion not to spend big money on WR, however this year there were five big names (Smith, #85, Holt, Fitz, Owens) in my opinion and everyone else, so depending on draft position it might have been a smart move to grab the RB first, WR second and RB third and then wait until the remaining pieces fall in the later rounds. I picked A Johnson in the fifth and then filled in the gaps from round 9 on. We will see how it plays out but there is always a WR or two that you can find late that will produce as much as a 3rd or 4th rounder.

It was a pretty weak start for offenses in general. Three shutouts, and another game (Det v. Sea) without a touchdown. I'm too lazy to check, but I don't recall more than three shutouts all last year.

Crazy that we had 3 in a week. I find it hard to believe that defenses have rocketed past offenses over the course of the offseason, so I'm inclined to see this an an aberration.

Agreed: A.Bryant, M.Muhammad, I.Bruce looked pretty good for me this week. As did F.Gore, R.Johnson, J.Lewis, F.Taylor, & R.Bush. Unfortunately P.Rivers, Delhomme, & Kitna really stunk it up for me.
