Weather Radar - Do you understand it? (1 Viewer)

I just figure if there are colors on the radar headed for my location, I should stay indoors and wait for it to pass. I don't want to get hit with green slime like in a game show.

Cliff from Cheers: It's a little known fact there, Normy, that the percentage chance of rain is misunderstood by most people. If forecasts say there is a 20% chance of rain, it doesn't mean there is a 20% chance it will rain. It means 20% of your general area WILL get rain.

ETA: Looking forward to Sheik coming in here and correcting me. There is a 50% chance I'm wrong:lmao:

Never understood it but neither do the television weather forecasters in my area. Last storm they said we could expect 0.06 inches of snow. Next morning, I shoveled about a foot off my driveway.

Are you in a lake effect area? That stuff is notoriously difficult to predict.

I knew I should have looked it up before posting.

Am I gonna get reported for laughing at this?
