Wold have been neat to see FBG grab Brady here.

Is it me or are there about 50 of these expert website kinda leagues out there.....
There's a real good amount that's for sure.I look for guys I know and respect to be participating and some continuity(see how they handle trends/habits year to year) and always for someone new.

Would have been neat to see FBG grab Brady here.
I like that Brady to Moss theory.Assuming the rest of the team is average, do you think someone that drafted them is a "lock" to win then?If you noticed someone pull that off would you feel inclined to try and land Manning to Wayne, Palmer to Housh, Romo to Owens or just blow it off?Back to Brady to Moss- RB would be a weaker position and you know how people in FF put alot of significance in the quality of their RBs, any thoughts on how to follow it up if you landed Moss and Brady?

Well I suppose this is the year, I could do it. Since you could end up with Turner/Edge/Parker (not in this league)/Graham/T. Jones to go along with it.

If they come anywhere close to having another season like last year, then yeah that's pretty hard to deal with.Provided you dont poop the bed the rest of the way. Im not knocking Bush - so much as I just thought it would have been neat to see.

Pick 2.12 comment - "The Raiders line is not all that talented, but the Raiders were able to finish 6th in the league anyway, even with marginal players like Jason Fargas."

Who is Jason Fargas??

I took Romo/Owens/Witten/Crayton last year. Worked out well

According to ADP, Marc just took Edge early at 3.10. MFL ADP has him with an average pick of 60.45, so late 4th-early 5th. Several of the other RBs available now don't offer a solid hold on their team's starting spot like him though. I'm guessing that's what Marc was thinking, so I could see the logic in that pick just fine.

Also, June ADP is usually quite different from late August ADP. Any thoughts on this pick?

A lot of early summer MFL drafts are for dynasty leagues, so that should be factored into how you look at their ADPs.

from what I can tell, this is a PPR league and he took Edge over Welker, Plaxico, Boldin, and Holmes. i would be happier with a strong WR option here than a very marginal back like Edge and go for one of the rookie RBs likely to start this year in the fourth (Stewart, Forte, Smith).

Rounds 3 and 4 seem extra strong this year. If ever there was a year to trade down....

(Ya can't trade picks in this league, I'm just sayin')

Would have liked to have seen Romo in round 3, a WR in round 4. Marginal backs will be available next round and RB is vastly overrated in ppr.Bush in the early 2nd is robbery, and imo allows you to go BPA (Romo) here and worry about the 2nd back later. RomoBushPlax/MossThen grab Witten/Gates/Winslow if one of them happen to fall (doubtful). If not look for a RB and a WR on the next turn. I would not hesitate to go TE/WR next round and let the RB chips fall where they may. That could result in something like this:RomoBush/? (Fred Taylor? Rudi Johnson?) Plax/Moss/EvansWinslowOdds are a TE won't fall, but that lineup would have been sick. Now we're looking at:Bush/EdgePlax/MossI'd still go TE if one of the big 3 are available. If not I'm probably going QB/WR. Just my .02

Bri I actually like the team you've assembled so far (love the Brees-Colston connection)...I really like the All Sorts Sports team as well.

selvin young is a mighty risky pick for round 5! who knows what shanahanahanan will do between now and week 1. i would have looked at kellen winslow there since this is a PPR league and i suspect a large dropoff between winslow and the next best TE (clark perhaps)

Thanks (me and Jeff T)yeah talking about connections earlier re Moss and Brady, I was trying to keep quiet hoping Brees would fall. He was 7th overall in this league last year. I was pleased he was still there.I like Rudi alot, and think some people are just "off" in ranking him. We've had the discussions around here. He's going to be someone I'll watch all summer in ADP. I think he's going to go so much earlier in August.

The rookie RBs went(some). It might be early, re round #5, but otherwise it's a fine pick IMO. It's tricky to judge early and late when drafts start off so RB heavy. I think he went at a good time amongst the other RBs.If tiering, what other RBs do you think he should be near?

4/pass TD.start 2/3/flex.No way do I take a QB at 2.03

Re: Young, was shooting for Young/Forte combo. Forte went right after me. Went Cal Johnson at 6.03. Wanted to hammer WR, but there were too many players left for WR4 and the RB pool was shrinking, Can't get caught with just Edge and Bush and WRs. Young = ultimate high risk/high reward player. The problem with the 9-12 spots is the slim RB selection.

My team right now is

Bush/Edge/Sel Young

Moss/Plex/Cal Johnson

Re: value - there was no way I could have taken a WR where I took Edge and received value - name any of the players taken AFTER edge at RB you would prefer at that spot, and also convince me that Boldin or Welker have significantly more UPSIDE than Plex. They are all about the same level. I would have selected Plex OVER Welker or Boldin at 3.10 anyway, and I might not have had Edge on the comeback, so I got tremendous value from where I was sitting with both picks.

In a PPR 1/2/3/flex league, I am looking pretty solid. And as far as VBD, every WR I took was pure gold. The talent drop between 4.03 and 5.10 was immense. Another reason I despise the bottom this year is that there are distinct tier drops in the middle of the 3rd, 5th, and 7th. You can still get value at the 08 sopt, but by 10 you are sucking a little air.

To comment further on this draft (couldn't do it last night as I had just returned home from a long day at work)

Regarding my first and second round picks - I love them from the 10-hole, I got 2 top-10 PPR scorers! Bush was the last of the RBs I felt were worth a 1st round pick. In PPR leagues, it goes Top-5/top-6 RBs - basically down through Addai/Gore. Then LJ/Portis start to have equal value with whoever you have as your WR 1/2 then to close out the first round are Bush and Barber with MLynch a possibility (though his PPR value is well below his non-PPR value). Maybe McGahee or the WR3 deserve to be picked in the first round. NO QBS in PPR/4 per pass TD/ start1/2/3/flex!! QB holds no value till at least late 2nd in such leagues. When I saw no WRs were gone, but there were at least three RBs I could be happy with at 2.03 (Bush, McGahee and Lynch) it was a done deal to take my WR1. I actually prepared to take a second WR on the comeback over McGahee and open WR-WR. But when Bush was there, I was very pleased.

Snagging Bush - the last back I had pegged as worth a first round pick - at 2.03 was a coup in a PPR. The FBG staff consensus has Moss at #7 overall and Bush # 10 overall in PPR leagues, I got both with the 1.10 and 2.03 picks. I am pretty happy with that opener. Edge is at 31 overall in PPR leagues (I have him at 19 overall in PPR leagues) and Plex is right after that at 32 - that is the 3.07 and 3.08 spots. I got them at 3.10 and 4.03.

More on the Edge pick: as the turn at 2.12/3.01 approached, I predrafted a bunch of players ahead of Edge - Steve Smith, Torry Holt, Plex, Chad Johnson, and Jamal Lewis looked like they might drop and I had them predrafted ahead of Edge. I figured one of them would and I was right.

As my pick rolled closer, my remaining predrafted players were Plex, then Edge, then Boldin, then Welker, then Brandon Jacobs. When I realized I could get a 2 for 1 if I took Edge first, I made that move. And I still got my top pick available at that slot. Considering Ronnie Brown, Michael Turner and Darren McFadden went in the 2nd round, along with my top-tier WR choices, and that the backs chosen after Edge and before my next pick represent a sharp tier drop, Edge is a great pick at that spot.

When drafting at the corners, you play the fact that you can get one of several players on the comeback - and that is what I did each round. Re: ADP, throw it out the window as a means of determining value picks in leagues where you have people who live and breathe FF. Also, ADP is an overall number, it is difficult to find "PPR-only/4 per pass TD/start 1-2-3 flex ADP."

I will comment on who I think is having the best draft after the mid-way point. That is the only true way to tell. First 6 rounds are EASY. Now is when the real drafters come to the surface.

For your perusal, current rosters.

Marc, 2008 is the first year that I don't much care for the later draft slots. I usually love 10 thru 12(or 14). You seem to agree. Do you think ADP will change by August and it'll be a covetted spot again or is this just not the year to have that spot?

Wold have been neat to see FBG grab Brady here.
4/pass TD.start 2/3/flex.No way do I take a QB at 2.03
If Brady repeated last year's stats, any pick (even 1.1) would have been a good one. With 4pts per TD, QBs did real well in this league last year. Got a ballpark prediction on Brady's stats?
