Week 09 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

I'll start.

PPR

Terry McLaurin @ NYG
Malik Nabers v WAS

I'm thinking it has to be McLaurin at this point.
I'd go Nabers in PPR. The targets are just so high.
Caleb Williams @ ARI (27th v QBs)
Sam Darnold v IND (22nd v QBs)
I'd go Darnold. Caleb has lost some trust for me, after last week.
This question is going to recur every week I think.
Tua vs Buffalo or Darnold vs Indy
I'd go Darnold here too. Indy is not a good defense, and its possible Flacco starting leads to a higher scoring game in general.
0.5 PPR

Need 3 of the following:

Hubbard vs Saints
McLaurin at Giants
Downs at Vikings
D Smith vs Jags
Stevenson at Titans
Tillman vs Chargers
I'd go with Smith, McLaurin, and Downs. I think they are just the best players, and they all have pretty good matchups. I'm not ready to get on board with Tillman yet.
0.5 PPR, need a flex:
  • Hubbard vs. Saints
  • Cooper vis Dolphins
  • Meyers vs. Bengals
Somewhat begrudgingly, I'd go with Hubbard. I don't think Brooks gets a big role this week, if he's even active, and NO is potentially one of the few teams Carolina could keep pace with, though that wasn't the case in week 1.
I have drafted and acquired an absolute embarasment of riches at WR in my 12 team redraft league (Drafted Wilson, traded for Jefferson, CD, Nabors, Puka)

I can start 4- need to sit one. .5 ppr, bonus for 100 yards.

Jefferson vs Indy (SNF)
Lamb @ ATL
Nabers vs Wash
Puka @ Seattle
Wilson Vs Hou (TNF)
I'd sit Wilson. I think he's the least talented one, and in the worst offense.
Struggling with the following:
FFPC scoring:

First,need a tight end:

E.Engram @ PHI
J.Ferguson @ ATL

Then need TWO flexes from the following:

K.Shakir vs MIA
R.Doubbs vs DET
J.Downs @ MINN
D.Mooney vs DALL
Engram/Ferguson,whoever is not my tight end
TE is close to a coin flip. I guess I lean Engram just because of easier projected volume, but its also possible he gets the defensive focus. Ferguson feels due, but he's been real quiet of late.

I'd flex Downs, the Vikings weakness is inside WRs who get open quickly, and while Downs likely isn't the talent level of ARSB, or the Rams guys, he's still pretty solid.
Good position to be in overall obviously...but a tough choice (10-team big $ home league)...

J Daniels @ NYG (21st in my league Pts Allowed)
J Hurts v JAX (30th in PA)
I have that same combo in my dynasty league and have somehow gotten it right every week except the one where Daniels played 1 series (and it was likely gonna be right) so as someone facing that same dilemma, I'm going Hurts this week. Truth be told, against the Jags, there isn't a QB I'd start over Hurts period this week.
Standard scoring

Pick up Stafford who is available or start:

G.Smith vs Rams - he ain't great without DK and has stopped running
or
Darnold vs Colts - I lean this way with Geno possibly without DK again

Flex position - need 3

B.Hall vs Texans - ought to be an auto-start but his backup gets almost as many carries and Rodgers throws at weird times
D.Achane @ Bills - he's great but this looks tough
Monty @ Packers - can't bench right?
C.Brown vs Raiders - great matchup but he's been a bit inefficient

WR - still without Collins and probably DK so need one of the following

JSN vs Rams
Tillman @ Chargers
Pittman @ Vikings

Thanks
I'd roll with Darnold this week, in a potential high scorer.

I'd sit Brown at flex. I don't think he's in the same league as the other 3, even in this matchup.

With Flacco starting, I'd be rolling Pittman from that group. I like Downs a lot, but I think people are jumping to conclusions thinking he's the new #1.
No PPR, choose 1: Olave, Tillman, Downs.
And which one would you choose rest of season?
Thanks!
Olave>Downs>Tillman, both for this week, and ROS.
PPR scoring need another flex, TE and DST fill. DST favors turnovers and sacks more so than allowing points.

My 2 starting RBs are Hall and Hunt
My 2 starting WRs are Lamb and London

Flex either:
Monty @ GB
Smith vs JAX

Leaning Monty. Smith has a good matchup, but Eagles can score so many different ways, it is a gamble that Smith will be one of them.

TE either:
LaPorta @ GB
Kraft vs DET

Leaning Kraft since DET can score a lot and GB will need to keep pace.

DST either:
Bills vs MIA
Eagles vs JAX

Leaning Eagles against a banged up JAX squad, but I know BUF always plays MIA tough especially at home.
I'd go Smith at flex. Just think Philly is gonna blowout Jacksonville.

I'm going LaPorta over Kraft, JaMo being out, and Love being not 100% at best.

Like Philly over the Bills on D. Just a way better matchup, and Philly just shut down a much tougher offense in Cincinnati.
0.5 PPR. Should I be sitting Adams? My WRs are AJB, Adams, Reed and Diontae Johnson. I could move Reed to WR2 then Chase Brown to my flex.

Essentially it's Adams vs. Reed vs. Brown.
Adams>Reed>Brown in my opinion.
12 team PPR I need to pickup a TE.
Conklin vs Texans
Fant vs Rams
J Johnson vs Panthers
Dissly vs Browns

Thanks!!
Dissly has been sneaky good the last couple weeks. I think he's highest in the pecking order among this bunch.
This one again:

PPR

Tank Dell at NYJ
or
Davante Adams vs HOU
I'd go Adams here. Honestly, I think Dell hasn't looked very much like the guy from 2023 at all, and seeing #1 coverage isn't likely to make that easier. Adams feels very due to me.
PPR, 6 pts for TDs, 5 pt bonus for over 100 yards receiving/rushing and 300 yards passing, bonuses for long TDs...

Mahomes v. TB
Rodgers v. HOU (alot of noise dissing him and the team this week)

Thanks.
Mahomes, and by a wide margin. TB has no pass defense at all. The only QB to not top 20+ on them in the last several games, is Spencer Rattler, and even he was in the teens.
PPR

Hopkins vs TB
OR
Waddle @ buff
I roll Waddle here. He feels due, and Hopkins still feels like he's a week or 2 away from being more than a situational player.

Darnold vs IND
Dak @ ATL

Leave 1 out

Reed vs DET
Kupp @ SEA
D Smith vs JAX
Shakir vs MIA
Olave @ CAR

Need 1
Stroud vs NYJ
Geno vs LAR
Stafford @ SEA(on the wire)

Need 2 WR and a FLX

Olave @ CAR
ASB @ GB
Nacua @ SEA
McConkey vs CLV
Downs @ MIN
I'd go Darnold over Dak. Just like the matchup more.

I think Shakir is your sit. Has the lowest ceiling in my opinion.

I go Geno at QB. If DK is playing this is an easy one, but even if not, I still like Geno's rushing.

ARSB, Puka, and Olave for me. Downs and especially McConkey just aren't as proven.
Puka/Tyreek locked in 1/2, FLEX one of these:

Downs vs Minny....not a great D to go against, but they will be throwing it.
DJ Moore vs ARZ....I'm getting tired of the single digit games
Cooper vs MIA....ramping up, but how many targets we talking about - 3-4?
I'd go Downs here, like the matchup a lot for him.
G smith v LAR
Goff at GB
I like Geno here. By a wide margin if DK plays.
PPR need One:

Tillman vs LAC
Diontae Johnson vs Den
Tank Dell vs Jets
Waddle vs Buff?
Despite my nervousness of him seeing #1 coverage, I think this has to be Dell.
PPR NEED ONE:

Baker Mayfield vs KC
or
Mahomes vs TB?
Despite what they've done so far this season, I think Mahomes by a wide margin this week. TB has the worst pass D in the NFL, KC has the best.
TD heavy league. I need a 2nd RB this week.
Raheem Mostert vs Buffalo or Devin Singeltary vs Commanders (assuming Tracy can't play)
I'd say Mostert. Just better TD odds.
Superflex
With Purdy on bye, do you start
Winston vs the chargers
Flacco vs the Vikings
Bryce vs the saints

Leaning Flacco.
I'd go Winston myself. Browns are a pass heavy team, and I think there is more upside with him than Flacco, who could potentially spend a lot of the day just handing it to Taylor.
Throwing this out there if you get it in time:
FFPC scoring:

Need TWO Flex:

Javonte Williams @ BALT
T.Dell @ NYJ
L.McConkey @ CLEVE

And ONE Flex:

K.Shakir vs MIA
D.Mooney vs DALL
J.Ferguson @ ATL
Dell and McConkey for me. Ravens run D is excellent.

I'll go a little bold here and say Ferguson. Feels due for a nice game, and Dallas needs a second guy to step up.
Need 1

Olave @ CAR
Downs @ MIN
McConkey @ CLV
Olave, Carr is looking back, and Shaheed is gone in a great matchup. Olave is a top-10 WR this week in my opinion.
Pick 2 in a nonPPR-

Dell
Adams
Tillman
Adams and Dell. Just don't trust Tillman yet. Adams especially feels due.
Pick 3 in Standard Scoring .. 1 must be a RB

B Robinson Jr @ NYG
A Mattison @ Cin
T Dell @ NYJ
A Cooper vs Mia
J Waddle @ Buf
C Sutton @ Balt
J Meyers @ Cin
Robinson, Dell, Mattison. I could see a case for either Raider in the last spot, but the Bengals D isn't the KC D, and Mattison is getting one of the better RB shares in the NFL right now.
It's come to this.
PPR
Troy Franklin (DEN) or Courtland Sutton (DEN)
Sutton. Franklin feels like he could easily have a zero, or a TD.
D question.

* KC vs TB - KC a great real life defense, but just above average it seems in fantasy. Has been solid for 7 or 8 points all year. Only one week with 10+. Baker is down Godwin and Evans, but still has Otton and those RBs. Has been throwing picks.

* LAC @CLE - Another good real life defense but in fantasy hasn't scored 10+ since week 2. CLE was a great matchup, but Winston has given that offense life. He could throw a couple picks for sure as BALT D dropped 2-3 last week.

* WASH @NYG -- Seems to have outbursts against bad teams and then duds against good ones. Against the NYG, I think we can qualify them as a bad offense minus a top OLineman. Should see some sacks of sack magnet Jones, but Nabers will get his and now it sounds like T. Tracy is going to pass through protocol.

Note: Next week's matchups may come into consideration because KC (vs DEN) and LAC (vs TN) have great matchups while WASH (vs PIT...with Wilson) is a bit shaky. If WASH is not a slam dunk over KC or LAC I could drop them to deal with other needs.

Which?

Thanks
I think Baker has multiple INT's sacks this week, so I like KC. These are arguably the top-3 defenses of the week I think.
0.5 PPR

G Wilson vHOU
T McClaurin @NYG

J Dobbins @CLE
D Montgomery @GB
C Brown vLV

Need 1RB, 1WR, 1Flex

TIA
I'd go Dobbins, Wilson, and McLaurin.
Which 2 would you start? .3 PPR with long TD bonuses and low yardage scoring for under 100 scrimmage.

Dell vs Jets
Mostert vs Bills
Chubb vs Chargers
Ridley vs Patriots
I'd go Dell and Chubb. Have to think Ridley draws Gonzalez this week.
Need a TE with Little on bye. STD scoring. 6pt/TD

Taysom Hill at CAR
Dalton Schultz at NYJ
I lean Schultz just due to volume, not often he's the #2 option for the Texans pass game.

Pick 2 in a nonPPR-

Dell
Adams
Tillman
I bench...Adams??? Did I just say that?

Yeah, they each have tough matchups... I think Sauce, Stingley & Samuel are all playing.

I think, in this situation i follow the targets and in this situation I think Dell (totally speculative) & Tillman should see more.

But I'm very hesitant on this one.

Pick 3 in Standard Scoring .. 1 must be a RB

B Robinson Jr @ NYG
A Mattison @ Cin
T Dell @ NYJ
A Cooper vs Mia
J Waddle @ Buf
C Sutton @ Balt
J Meyers @ Cin
I hope you started Dell.

I would go with Brian Robinson because he generally gets solid volume and hopefully the Commanders offense gets rolling in the scoreboard.

Waddle next for me. Tough matchup for sure but the Dolphins should be trailing a bit and Tua is going to get better.

If you didn't go with Dell I would take a shot on Cooper. He's got a great QB on a strong offense and he's a really good player.

D question.

* KC vs TB - KC a great real life defense, but just above average it seems in fantasy. Has been solid for 7 or 8 points all year. Only one week with 10+. Baker is down Godwin and Evans, but still has Otton and those RBs. Has been throwing picks.

IDK if we are looking on a two week time horizon then the Chargers, probably. Jameis has never protected the ball and Tennessee is simply not a good offense.

0.5 PPR

G Wilson vHOU
T McClaurin @NYG

J Dobbins @CLE
D Montgomery @GB
C Brown vLV

Need 1RB, 1WR, 1Flex

TIA
Wilson, McLaurin & Montgomery and it isn't close.

If you did not start Wilson I think you have to go with Dobbins because he sees so much more volume than Brown.

Which 2 would you start? .3 PPR with long TD bonuses and low yardage scoring for under 100 scrimmage.

Dell vs Jets
Mostert vs Bills
Chubb vs Chargers
Ridley vs Patriots
Dell for sure (hope you did) and I personally keep rolling Chubb.

If you benched Dell I guess I follow the hot hand with Ridley. Mostert is entirely TD dependent, he's great at it but I hate to rely on it.

Hi Trav: PPR need 1:

Waddle vs Buff
Dell vs Jets
Tillman vs LAC
Dionte johnson vs Den?
Hi Zeke, this is Chaka. I hope you don't mind if I chime in as well ;)

I would have gone with Dell. If you didn't I think I ride Tillman's hot hand. He's just seeing great volume and Jameis has never been shy about putting up 50/50 balls.

I know you like Goff this week but

Goff at gb
Stag.ford at Seattle assuming Puka plays
It's not that I love Goff this week, but I like him a little more than Geno.

But I like Stafford, with Puka, more than Goff. With his full complement of pass catchers, Stafford is the driver of a potent offense that starts through the air.

Stafford>Goff

Without Puka it's more of a coin toss but I still probably lean Stafford because of the matchup.

Tough week
Trying to get lineups set before heading out on a cruise
Here's one
FFPC scoring:

Need an RB2:

Javonte Williams @ BALT
C. Hubbard vs N.O.

Pick 3 in Standard Scoring .. 1 must be a RB

B Robinson Jr @ NYG
A Mattison @ Cin
T Dell @ NYJ
A Cooper vs Mia
J Waddle @ Buf
C Sutton @ Balt
J Meyers @ Cin
I hope you started Dell.

I did go with Dell. Also have BRob . My last choice is Mattison, Waddle, or Sutton

PPR League. Need two of these guys.

* B. Thomas @PHI -- Is a GTD which is tricky because JAX plays at 4. So two scenarios: 1) Shefty comes out early Sunday and says he's "expected to play" or 2) No info and you have to roll the dice.

* C. Hubbard vs NO -- J. Brooks out. He's getting all the touches. NO rush D has been horrid. Even if D. Carr comes out smoking he should get some receptions. Honestly, B. Young didn't look too bad this week and it looks like NO is missing Lattimore and a couple others in the secondary. Maybe this is more competitive than most think.

* T. Tracy vs WASH -- All indications point toward him clearing. Honestly, don't know how I sit him.

This probably comes down to a Chubba or B. Thomas without 100% confirmation.

Which?

Thanks

Sit Thomas IMO. Seems pretty clear.

The Zack Moss news has given me pause so asking again...please pick 2 from these 3 in standard

Achane @ Bills - Bills have been known to be a run funnel but Mostert steals goal line touches
Monty @ Packers - hard to bench but can be a bit TD-dependent
C.Brown vs Raiders - matchups don't get much better

PPR league. Need at TE for NEXT week with B. Bowers on bye. Options:

* M. Gesecki @BALT -- Good matchup. More importantly, T. Higgins unlikely to play this week and this game is on Thursday night. He basically acts as their slot WR with Higgins out. That said, Higgins could be up next week. BALT terrible vs. TEs.

* T. Hill vs ATL -- K. Miller is still banged up so a chance he is next week too. ATL middle of the road defending TEs.

* G. Calcatrara @DAL -- D. Goedert out this week. Doesn't seem to be coming around quickly. DAL D terrible.

God knows TE is a wasteland, but figure I'd grab somebody now vs. potentially fighting somebody next week.

Which?

Thanks

And Tracy just cleared.

OK.. torn on my options here...
12 Team PPR TE+ Starters currently in Bold

RB Pick 1-3
A Jones Min vs Indy #23 Run Def
A Kamara NOS at CAR #32

K Walker III vs LAR #20

WR 2-5
J Addison Min vs Indy #18 Pass Def
C Kupp LAR at SEA #13

J Tolbert Dal at ATL #24

TE 1-3
B Bowers LV at Cin #25 vs TE
C Otton TB at KC #32

N Fant Sea vs LAR #31

PPR, need a flex option. Lost Godwin two weeks ago and Higgins is out this week. Got 30 from Garrett Wilson so I am off to a good start.

Slayton vs WAS
Andrews vs DEN

The Zack Moss news has given me pause so asking again...please pick 2 from these 3 in standard

Achane @ Bills - Bills have been known to be a run funnel but Mostert steals goal line touches
Monty @ Packers - hard to bench but can be a bit TD-dependent
C.Brown vs Raiders - matchups don't get much better
I'm not ready to bench Monty. He's TD dependent then again he has a TD in 6 of 7 games and 7 overall. And the only game he didn't score he got knocked out early.

I get it, the logic is there is a correction coming. But, is there? He scored 13 TDs in 14 games last year and Jamaal Williams scored 17 TDs in 17 games the year before. So, yes, I can see benching him in a tough road matchup but... really?

I really like Achane's skill set and he had a monster last week in Tua's first game back. But it is a tough matchup for sure.

Brown has the best matchup by a big margin and it would be interesting to see him with 20 opportunities but which one of your auto starts do you bench for him?

I want to make a recommendation for one of your guys to bench for Brown but I got cute last week and started Javonte over Jonathan Taylor because of the matchup and Taylor's injury status.

It's recency bias for sure because of that but I don't think I can recommend Brown over either of your options ATM.

I literally have no earthly idea so I'm going to say Gesicki.

IDK man do you really want to bench Walker? Personally I bench Robinson in this scenario.

I agree with Kupp & McLaurin.

And Fant isn't an option relative to the other two IMO.

NON-PPR TE START:
start one:

OTTON
T. HILL
FERGUSON
Please include matchups in the future.

I assume you mean Taysom and not Tyreek? Again, a little more information really helps those of us who chose to answer these questions. And I wish more people would make that choice.

Otton and it isn't close IMO. He's a top 5, maybe better, TE as long as Evans & Godwin are out.

PPR, need a flex option. Lost Godwin two weeks ago and Higgins is out this week. Got 30 from Garrett Wilson so I am off to a good start.

Slayton vs WAS
Andrews vs DEN
Andrews I think. I live what Slayton did last week and I think he's better than a lot of people realize but Andrews seems to have a much higher TD probability and last week could be a one off for Slayton.

Andrews

1.0 PPR + return yardage

Kalif Raymond or Jayden Reed?

4 point passing TD

Joe Flacco or Jared Goff or Jordan Love?
Do you get points for punt return TDs?

And we don't know Love's status yet, he could easily be a late scratch. I really, really want to say Reed...and I'm going to. I still think Raymond is a mirage.

ETA: Flacco. It's a bomb matchup and he has done nothing but produce every time he's been given the chance.
