Which players were targeted most often week 1 when they were on the field? Reggie Wayne led the way in total targets with 18, but he was also on the field for 48 passing plays (45 throws and 3 sacks). Pierre Garcon left early with an injury, but while he was on the field he was targeted 4 times on only 5 pass plays: 80% of the plays. Here are the leaders in targets per pass route run, minimum 4 targets (data from Pro Football Focus).

There's no way that Ogletree, Hawkins, or Shorts will keep up this target percentage, but they could easily earn more playing time.

The WR data seems more informative than the other positions, so here are the next 10 WRs:

Victor Cruz NYG

Danny Amendola SL

Steve Johnson BUF

Dexter McCluster KC

Steve L. Smith CAR

Santonio Holmes NYJ

Stephen Hill NYJ

Michael Crabtree SF

Randall Cobb GB

David Nelson BUF

Wow, makes me feel pretty good to see every WR on my team (other than Hakeem Nicks) on either the top 10 or the secondary list you posted.

Good info. Thanks!
