Week 1 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

Can't account for Injuries...Played Ryan Grant over LeSean McCoy (PPR league), and Owen Daniels over Jermaine Gresham. Should have gone with my Gut on the TE instead of rankings.Still could win based on Rivers tomorrow night...
At this moment, I have high week in all 3 of my leagues. However, in all 3 of them, the teams I'm playing are 2nd in points with good shots at overcoming me.A pretty good chance that I could go 0-3 and have 2nd highest points in ALL 3 of my cash leagues. sigh...

I've been saying for the past year, the 49ers are a QB away from being a pretty good team. Alex Smith is not going to cut it, and if him submarining the team this season is what it takes for the 49ers to figure that out, I guess it's worth it in the long run.
This game might go down as the Jake Locker Bowl by season's end.

I am on the verge of boycotting 49er games until they relieve Alex Smith of his duties. I've never considered Hasselbeck to be an elite QB but the more I watched the game, the more he looked like a stud compared to Smith.

The Megatron travesty cost me 9 points in a game that I'm trailing by 16, with a QB and D to go. Very possible that the BS call will end up costing me the game...

Sat Foster for Turner and Williams

I had Nicks and if I also had Foster I'd be golden. As it stands, I've got no shot.

As bad as Smith looked today, Crabtree was by far the worst player on that offense. He was responsible for both the early interceptions and he just flat out dogged out there. He is soft right now and looks more like a figure skater than a pro football player; that is being unkind to figure skaters, I know.As for Locker, I'm up in Seattle and a Husky ticket holder and I'm not sure it's happening for Jake. Right now he is a much better runner than he is a passer and his accuracy is far from where it will need to be at the next level. If he went to a team where he needed to start right away instead of sitting and learning for a few years (a la Rodgers) you may be looking at the next Alex Smith, or worse, David Carr. He wouldn't meet those expectations. Not sure what the answer is for the 9'ers, but I don't think it's Locker. I also don't believe that they'll finish in a position to take him should his value stay high.

I am a pretty healthy eater. I would say I eat right 95% of the time. I just ate 3 hot dogs with all the fixings :bag: : I am gonna pay for that later.

I also wanted the 49ers to trade down and get Rodgers before the draft. As a USC fan, I had seen plenty of Rodgers and thought he would be perfect for the 49ers offense while Smith didn't fit. Niners are a SB contender right now if they didn't mess that up.

Spiller and Kolb

Still ahead, but they didn't help.

Having said that, I knew they were both risks going in.

And anyone who sat Foster, I still think it was the right move if you had more established backs.

I want to punch Mike Sims-Walker in the face

I would also like to thank the refs for Calvin Johnson's blown call

Oh, and that QB named Rodgers...awesome

I dumped Patrick Chung (12 tac, 4 assist) when I read Richard Marshall (2 tac, 1 assist) was predicted to score the most points. Had to drop someone to pickup a backup QB in case Cutler struggled. A DB was what I needed to drop. Chung would have scored me 24 more points in our scoring system.

My opponent has Austin and is just points away from coming back and winning. :goodposting:

Doubt I'll even get Chung off waivers either... bad move, I had him starting until I went with the Marshall prediction.

My starting skill position players in my keeper league:

schaub

gore

turner

r moss

Marshall

finley

probably the best starters in the league were outscored by my opponent's Jay cutler. Awesome!

Had my draft 3 weeks ago. In the 5th round I was debating between Arian Foster and Justin Forsett for my RB3. I was more worried about Slaton stealing touches than I was Leon Washington so I went with Forsett. :X

Stafford injury killed me this week.

Drafted Best before Foster. Given the aforementioned Stafford injury and Foster's coming out party today, I feel like this pick is going to be REAL bad.

Drafted Fitzgerald over Wayne, Colston, Jennings. Its just one week, but DA looked baaaad.

Drafted Witten over Shiancoe. nuff said.

Darfted ADP over CJ after getting spooked reading a post in the Shark Pool. Sometimes, its better not to overanalyze things.

All I know is that I had a positive feeling about my team until last Thursday's opening game, and after today I am really worried that my Fantasy Season will be miserable.

.5 ppr

.1 ppc

10 return yards for 1 point

So I sit Ocho and Ward in favor of Harvin and Cribbs for return points (5.6 and 9.8 respectively, ocho got 33 and ward got 13)

Also start Turner vs Pit (took a gamble and lost hard and Spiller (3.6 points wtf happened I really didnt see any highlights)

1 ppr

.2 ppc

50 return yards for 1 point

Jerome Harrison 9 carries... really? ******* mangini.

Best gets 2 TDs (call that a win, but only 20 yds for 14 carries? and now staffords out)

Losing by 60 points in both leagues with the same 2 players yet to play, not impossible but unlikely dont let me down Gates and Rice

I watched the whole Dolphins @ Bills game and I can give you the word on Spiller. The Bills offense stunk up the joint. Other than one specific drive which featured a heavy dose of Fred Jackson, the entire Bills offense was completely anemic and frequently went 3 and out. I don't know if this is something that can be corrected by a proper application of coaching and boot in the ###, or if it something that is more fundamentally wrong with the entire team in general at this point, but I'd be pretty leary of owning any of the Bills skill position players outside of Fred Jackson at this point in time. That being said, I wasn't too pleased with my boys today. They let the Bills hang around all game long with only a one score lead. When the other team is that bad you have to take advantage of the opportunities that they are giving to you and put the game out of reach.

Rules are rules, stupid or not. It was the correct call.
I'm getting so sick of some of these rules. When I look at what the Saints did to Favre in the NFCC with no call and then some of the really BS roughing the passer calls made on sunday it just seems backwards. Some hands to the face calls were a joke and then you can't launch yourself to make a tackle. This is getting to be BS and it's really slowing down the game.

Drafting Jahvid Best, when I was super high on Foster, and how the Houston Texans always produce great RBs. But I see what I hear about his skill set, not a very impressive runner, but all around good as long as he doesnt fumble. Still wish I had him FTW week one alone.

That Calvin Johnson call was the worst call I ever saw! The guy had 2 feet and a thigh down in the endzone, not to mention I didnt see the game, but it looked like it was ruled a TD initially then overturned? If that was the case definately wasnt enough evidence to overturn it. Moving the ball to one hand isnt a sign that he didnt have control if anything it reaffirms he had it the whole time then the ground causes a fumble. Retarted.

My offensive starters in an IDP dynasty league were:

Cutler

MJD

Reggie

SSmith, NYG

MSW

Knox

ZMiller

Hartley

Every single one of these guys, except Cutler, finished well below projections. Even including my bench, I didn't have a single rushing or receiving TD on my team. And I thought having 3 QB's in a 12 team league would be an advantage, but when the other two are Kolb and Stafford, not so much.

My IDP's are doing OK (still have 2 tonight), but not enough to overcome this crapfest. I'm currently down 100 pts. And while Cutler was nice, unfortunately my opponent has Forte, so the 2 TD's were negated there.

I've lost my week 1 matchup 4 years in a row in this league.

Up by 7 right now but my opponent has 4 guys going tonight. No way I'm winning it. Have a pretty decent score too but its only week one.

I had Nicks on the bench for Jacoby Jones. Thought Jones would be riding the shootout wave but Foster ruined it. To top that off, Megatron's non TD cost me 9 pts. Ah well, I will end up having the 3rd best score in the league and be 0-1. /sigh

My starting RBs in my keeper league were set to be R.Rice, Mendy and Beanie. On Thursday night, I specifically logged in to change my roster to reflect Beanie being iffy, so I took out Beanie and added Mike Williams as my flex...or so I thought.

I was busy Friday evening, Saturday was college football/tailgating, yesterday as I was checking scores on my iphone at a golf tournament I noticed my score was abnormally low considering I have a roster of pretty good players, so I looked at it closer and apparently I unchecked the wrong player and instead of taking Beanie, I took out Mendenhall and his 120 yds and long TD! So instead of roughly 30 pts from those 2 spots, I got 6 or 7 from Williams and I now trail by 38 pts.

:lmao:

The only bright spot was that I play the worst team in the league and he only scored 84 pts, so I still have a chance with Bowe and Ray Rice.

I've got the second highest score in one of my leagues by a huge margin (30 points). Which would be awesome if I hadn't drawn the guy who started Arian Foster and Matt Forte.

Average yards per carry for my starting running backs this week...

Ray Rice - 11 rushes for 19 yards (so far) - 1.7ypc

Jahvid Best - 14 rushes for 20 yards - 1.4ypc

C.J. Spiller - 6 rushes for 7 yards - 1.2ypc

My receivers were great (Jennings, Austin, Ward in a PPR), so I have the highest point total in the league right now. This has me scared as hell about the remainder of the season though! I would really prefer to not have to rely on Marion Barber and Caddy to give me points. Also, as I typed this, Ray Rice was stuffed on a goalline carry, while McGahee came in to vulure the TD. Perfect.

In one league: Spiller, Reggie Bush, and Barber to be RB2 beside MJD. :X Started Spiller...

In another: Hello? Ray Rice? Is this thing on?? Hello?? One more quater left, I know, but really??
