Week 10 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (2 Viewers)

I'll start:

Caleb Williams v NE
Tua Tagovaiola @ LAR
Sam Darnold @ JAX

Seems like it has to be Darnold, right?
yes
Super Flex, PPR:

I need a Super Flex starter but Flacco and the Tennessee QB are my only options. So, do I stick with a QB or mix it up with either a WR or a RB?

Flacco v Buf
QB TEN @ LAC
Chase Brown @ Bal
David Montgomery @ Hou
DeAndre Hopkins v Den
Terry McLaurin v Pit
Hopkins
Big one:
FFPC scoring:

How about your top FIVE from the following:

D.Swift vs NE
K.Shakir @ IND
J.Downs vs BUFF
D.Mooney @N.O.
Q.Johnson vs TENN
E.Engram vs MINN
J.Ferguson vs PHI
Swift, Mooney,Ferg, Shair, Engram
PPR league. Need a TE for Bowers bye:

* T. Hill vs ATL -- No Olave. No Shaheed. No K. Miller. Think J. Williams still banged up. Rushed for a TD caught 4 balls last week. I'd think he's part of the game plan (along with Kamara catching 15 balls).

or

* M. Gesicki @BALT -- Assumes no Tee Higgins who has been DNP for two days and a Thursday night game tmrw. Gesicki has averaged 6-70 in Higgins absence. 2 TDs last week. No E. All either who has a torn ACL. Basically their #2 WR minus Higgins.

Which?

Thanks
Hill
PPR League. Trade question:

* I GET: A. ST Brown
* I GIVE: Tyreek Hill & JSN

Thought process: Gain more stability at the WR position, sick of the Tyreek experience this year, could be team risk with Miami if they keep swirling down the toilet, while DET probably gunning for #1 seed.

JSN on bye and while this could be the breakout everyone's waiting for, he could just fall back to earth once DK gets back.

My WR Corp now: T. Hill, C. Kupp, B. Thomas, JSN

Would need to hit the wire for a fourth WR, but my RBs should help in terms of flex: J. Jacobs, J. Conner, T. Tracy, and C. Hubbard (plus stashes).

One concern: DET's low pass volume. ASTB keeps getting TDs. That could dry up if J. Williams gets back.

Stand pat? Do it? Ask for more?

Thanks
do it
Standard scoring

Need 3 from the following (or just pick 1 to leave out, same outcome)

B.Hall @ Cards - frustrating experience this guy with Rodgers throwing so much but his potential is always there
D.Achane @ Rams - Can't bench, involved in both phases passing and rushing, Mostert keeps fumbling which is a plus for him
Monty @ Texans - Always solid but Texans are tough against the run and he really needs a TD every week
C.Brown @ Ravens - used last week with the nice matchup but this one looks rough, should be involved in the short passing game though

Thanks!
maybe its sacrilege but Hall seems the least safe option to me
0.5 PPR - 6pt / passing TD

Need 1 QB:
Jayden Daniels vs Pitt
Sam Darnold at Jax

Need 1 Flex:
Josh Downs vs Balt
Jauan Jennings at TB
Darmold/Jennings
I have a waiver claim for Mark Andrews right now.

If I get him tomorrow morning who would you start in a full PPR league:

Andrews vs CIN
LaPorta vs HOU

Both are super risky and Kraft is on Bye. FWIW I have and will be flexing Monty and I think Williams is back for DET too.

Edit: Opp has Lamar so if he tosses Andrews way I can play that angle as well.
Andrews
PPR league. Trade question:

* I GET: Kyren Williams
* I GIVE: C. Hubbard & JSN

Would give me:

* RB: J. Jacobs, J. Conner, K. Williams, T. Tracy (bench stashes)
* WR: T. Hill, C. Kupp, B. Thomas

Would leave me light at WR but in a two flex league I could start 4 RBs and only 2 WRs.

Also, CAR coach just indicated J. Brooks would be activated. Added bonus: I play the current Kyren owner and I'd be giving him Chubba who is on bye next week.

No brainer??
yes
Questions for two different leagues but both are 0.5 PPR:

TE:
  • Pitts vs. Saints
  • Hockenson vs. Jaguars
QB:
  • Rodgers vs. Cardinals
  • Herbert vs. Titans
FLEX:
  • Tracy vs. Panthers
  • Chuba vs. Giants
Pitts has ceiling but Hock has floor so Hock for me

Rodgers
Tracy
STD scoring, 6pt/TD

Flowers vs CIN
McLaurin vs PIT

Leaning Flowers based on CIN secondary being weaker than PITs.
flowers
.5 ppr

  • Andrews with Likely out vs Cincy (27th)
  • Kincaid @ Indy (28th)
Andrews
Lost Dak

Rest of season

Stroud or Rodgers?
Rodgers
Super flex
Purdy is my 1 (right?) then who?
Fiasco vs Buffalo
Bryce vs NYG
Caleb vs NE

Almost leaning Bryce :bag:

Same league, WR3:
Slayton if he plays at panthers
Diontae vs cincy
Or the just acquired Odunze vs NE.
Slayton will prob be out and maybe last week was just an anomaly for DJ. I'm not sold on Rome after 1 game though. Lets go DJ but maybe last week was Rome's breakout, what do I know?

Bryce
TD heavy minimal yardage league.

Kyren Williams already in at RB.
Do I risk CMC or Brob Jr not playing...or just go ahead and start Chase Brown tomorrow?

Those are my only options in a limited roster/limited move league.
I think Brown will be fine
Which TE? Actually a very nice problem to have.
Cade Otton vs SF
Trey McBride vs NYJ

Both D's are about the same vs TE's
Otton
PPR league. Trade question. I've been offered:

* I GET: Breece Hall

* I GIVE: C. Hubbard & JSN

Other owner sick of B. Hall clearly and I already own B. Allen. I can sell high on Chubba (and J. Brooks activated) AND JSN after his big game. I feel like the NYJ's offense could start to roll and the schedule outside of a bye looks sweet. Could be a buy low moment for B. Hall.

This would leave me with:

* RB: B. Hall, J. Jacobs, J. Conner, T. Tracy (B. Allen, B. Corum, T. Benson)

* WR: T. Hill, C. Kupp, B. Thomas

Leaves me light at WR, but I'll hit the waiver wire.

Do it? No brainer?

Thanks

Need two in PPR:

Waddle vs LAR
Jameson Williams vs HOU
Odunze vs NE

Herbert (vs TEN) or A-Aron (vs ARI). 6 per TD.

Thanks!

With the Collins news and BYE weeks killing me, need a one week WR rental. Who do you like in standard?

Legette vs Giants - know nothing about him but 2 good weeks in a row
Odunze vs Pats - ditto
D.Robinson vs Dolphins - been good but targets could be tough to come by
J.Jennings vs Bucs - if he's healthy for once
J.Addison @ Jags

Ok guys.. ty Tracy or Chase Brown? Ppr... 10 team league.
Barkley, Monty, Irving, mason
Just traded K hunt for d hop.
Jj, dhop,Marvin Harrison,and Romeo doubs. Cris Goodwin on IR

What ya think?

PPR flex start ONE of the following.....

Gesicki @ BAL (TNF)
Sutton @ KC
B Robinson (Q) vs PIT
Dowdle vs PHI

Leaning toward Gesicki just because he's done so well recently when Higgins is out. Not to mention, I hate leaving guys on my bench early in the week when the alternatives are "Q" or have risks, only to have it come back to bite me.

Close second would be Sutton. Thoughts?

Ive been a ff player since 2006... In ppr I've learned from experience and and from a lot of you guys that the wr takes a back seat in the winter time and late in the season that the rb takes over... In this case, I take dhop for now... I think I know how tonight's game is gonna go. My opinion is Chase brown will get stuffed by the ravens d.... Ravens 34- 17.... Brown 15-47-1......

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Assuming both play,
J. Jennings @ TB or B. Irving vs SF?

1.0 PPR.

Could grab Wandale but I like Jennings ROS, and otherwise waivers are barren!

very close

also caugh 9 for 52

so 13-18 pts is a fine start IMO. I just thought Tracy against a bad def would have been better

I think I bench Odunze. The way Caleb has been playing and the O-line in Chicago is just been getting him constantly hammered.

Williams & Waddle have the better QBs and Waddle & Jameson have proven big play ability that can salvage a week on a single play.

I was at a memorial service yesterday, it took most of my afternoon and evening.

I appreciate you answering a question, apologies for not getting to yours.

PPR League. An owner keeps harassing me on trying to get my Tyreek and I just can't pull the trigger.

* I GET: A. ST Brown & T. Higgins
* I GIVE: Tyreek Hill

Feels like a no brainer, but DET is passing at a much lower volume and ASTB is being saved by TDs, and Higgins is just always a walking injury...plus, if Cinci goes in the tank, how does he behave?

I do need a fourth WR though. Just traded away JSN so now I'm down to T. Hill, C. Kupp, B. Thomas.

DO it?

Thanks

Jameson Williams @ HOU
or
Worthy vs DEN

Pick 1 (full PPR)

For what it's worth, I'm up 100-0 thanks to Burrow/Chase (and Flowers). Not sure I've ever said THAT before after TNF. Not that that changes anything, but I'm probably looking for the guy with the lowest floor. The rest of my lineup should be pretty solid.

I was at a memorial service yesterday, it took most of my afternoon and evening.

My condolences, Chaka.
Thank you, rock.

I mentioned in this thread just before the season started that I was probably not going to continue this thread because my only fantasy league, for 25+ years, was likely shutting down because one of our league mates received a devastating ALS diagnosis. We salvaged our league and the members who are local managed to spend some nice, quality time with our friend (Woody) over the past few months. But he declined rapidly and passed away last week. This was really the first one of my contemporaries to pass. It was a nice ceremony at the US Naval Cemetery in Miramar and we were able to spend time with Woody's family afterwards at a pub drinking, laughing and remembering.

You always think there will be more time but, there isn't.

At any rate, thank you. I sincerely appreciate the sentiment.

I assume these are all redraft offers.

Personally I like both sides of the deal but looking at your receivers as is I think you could use some depth and ARSB could easily continue to outproduce Tyreek RoS (he could also, not).

Since it likely doesn't make a difference I would start the guy you most enjoy rooting for.

For me that's Jameson.

And oh, man. I’m so sorry. I’m glad you were able to salvage the league and spend some time with your friend before he passed. Thanks for sharing, man. All the best to you, your friends, and Woody’s family.

My friend Sandy, who I remember from college as the vibrantly spunky girl from Iowa who once stuck up for me so hard that she scared a few fraternity brothers who were giving me guff, passed from ALS in 2015, right while I was moving to California. I had been quite close with her boyfriend in college (which is how I met her) at one time and we’d lost touch; but when I heard she passed it all came rushing back and I wept with a yelp in my throat, sickened that I hadn’t kept in touch with either of them (they were married with children). I mean, we had simply grown apart and life took us in different directions, but your point regarding thinking there will always be more time was deeply felt and experienced back then when Sandy passed. I wished I could rewind or stop time, but I couldn’t and can’t. So I know that feeling all too well.

One more league…

1.0 PPR

Have to bench one of:
D. London @ NO
G. Wilson @ ARI
J. Downs V Buffalo
T. Tracy @ Carolina

Leaning London or Downs here, but IMO Tracy is the most likely to put up a stinker given his relative new-ness to the offense and possibly shorter leash. I’m up in projections after Chase Brown set me up with a healthy lead.

Also adding in my condolences Chaka. I’m a research scientist in a lab that works on ALS among other diseases, and it’s a brutal disease to watch progress. I’m glad you got a few good months to spend with him, and that he is at peace now.

I'm owed one after the Worthy over Otton call last week, but I'm a glutton for punishment:

1/2 point PPR
Brian Thomas Jr at home vs a porous Viking secondary. Still probably not 100%, and now Lawrence likely out for gulp, Mac Jones (playing the Viking D so not opposed to that)
or
Cade Otton at home vs the Niners, who are 10th against TE's I believe

Slight underdog after getting punished by Burrow last night, so need to get this one right!

Ugh, that is so sad. The feeling of infinite time is natural at any and every age. I wish I could say this moment will be instructive and something I carry with me daily going forward, and I know I will... for a time, but I suspect it will fade little-by-little as most lessons do until life decides to remind me again that we need to take advantage of our nows because we don't know how many tomorrows we get.

But this is supposed to be a happy place, or at least a place of shared football angst.

Thanks again and be well, brother.

I agree with London or Downs and I think it should be Downs because last week we were all reminded that Joe Flacco is 157 years old and can lay eggs with the best of them. Plus the Bills are a bit of a run funnel.

IIRC I only said that I wouldn't argue with your logic. I generally lean towards telling people to follow their own instincts. Had you said your gut was leaning Otton, I would have told you to listen.

IIRC 2.0 - I believe that I also forgot to mention that my gut was leaning Otton.

I don't have faith in Mac Jones ability to unlock Thomas Jr. but, as someone pointed out Jones is auditioning for his football future so maybe this is a blip game for him. For me Otton is the safer and smarter call, and he has decent upside too even if I think, in theory Thomas Jr. has more upside.
