Week 10 Cheatsheets (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
not here to bash but...

I cannot believe the week 10 cheatsheets! Maybe my oppinion is way off but #1 is Andre Johnson??? with Sage Rosenfels throwing to him? Sage is way unproven to put him #1...

then Larry Fitzgerald #3 & Anquan Boldin #4? 3rd and 4th rankings on the same team? Damn, cant wait to see the score of that game...

Again, I am not bashing but just cannot agree with what is projected.

Here is the reason for how I am looking at this, and maybe you guru's can lend some advise:

I participate in a league that has a no set rosters, pick your best team every week, consisting of 3qb, 4rb, 4wr, 2te, 2k, & 2def. I have not found the footballguys cheatsheets to be very helpful. Maybe the cheatsheets are not the correct tool for me to follow? any suggestions?

Thx in advance!

#1 WRs at HOME vs Balt

W4-S.Holmes - 61yds 1td

W6-R.Wayne - 118yds 1td

W7-T.Ginn - 48yds

W9-B.Edwards - 86yds 1td

I would say Andre easily 100+yds 1td.

Andre Johnson's stats when Sage Rosenfels plays most of the game over the last 3 years:

2006 ________Catches Yards TDs

8 Oct 29 @ TEN 9 78 1

2007

13 Dec 2 @ TEN 9 116 1

14 Dec 9 TAM 9 82 1

15 Dec 13 DEN 6 86 1

16 Dec 23 @ IND 7 74 1

17 Dec 30 JAC 6 74 0

2008

5 Oct 5 IND 9 131 1

9 Nov 2 @ MIN 4 62 1

Rather than being unproven, I'd say that Sage Rosenfels has proven that Andre Johnson is almost a lock for 80 yards and a TD when he plays.

Sage Rosenfels is hardly unproven. He's been in the pros since 2002. He has appeared in 28 games, completing 61.6% of his passes for 3195 yds, 27 TD's and 21 INT's. He appeared in 9 games and was 4-1 in 5 starts last year with Houston, completing 64.2% of his passes for 1684 yds, 15 TD's and 12 INT's. In those 4 wins Houston put up 24 pts on the Raiders, 28 pts on Tampa Bay, 31 pts on Denver and 42 pts on Jacksonville. The loss was to the Colts 38-15. In the Tampa Bay game, AJ caught 9 for 82 and a TD, in the Denver game he caught 6 for 81 and a TD, in the Indianapolis game he caught 7 for 74 yds and a TD, and in the Jacksonville game he caught 6 for 74 and 0 TD's.

Since you're new to the board I'll let you know that it's generally frowned upon to post "specific" player rankings from the paid subscription content on the free message board. Just a "how can both Fitz & Boldin be ranked so high" usually suffices. In answer to that part of your question, I'd say that Fitz & Boldin (in spite of missing a few wks) are ranked 3 & 4 for the season right now, so I don't think it's necessarily off base for them both to be that high in the same week. There have been several games this year where they both scored very well. AJ is a matter of opinion I guess, but everything is just a projection until the games are played and the last few posts offer numerous reasons for the high ranking.

As for your league specific question, if you get to pick from every NFL player every week, I'm not sure what would be more helpful than a weekly cheatsheet, though obviously it needs to be accurate to be of value. Fantasy Sports Central has a page where they show 10 different sites' weekly rankings, average them & allow you to remove as many as you want from the equation. It's handy, but beyond that it allows you to see the wide variety of projections for each player every week. Bottom line, everyone has an opinion & they're often quite different. For the record, ALL 10 sites rank both Arizona WRs in the top 9, 9 of 10 have them both in the top 7, and 2 have them both in the top 4, so FBG isn't far from the general concensus on that front.

First off, I apologize and thank PoolShark for the kind advise, which I will follow.

Secondly Thanks for the replies. Exactly the info I was seeking.. I had my doubts at first and was too quick to discredited Sage, and the rankings.

I have to agree with Pool Shark, I'm always open to opinions, trust me we all have them, but never give out the precious FBG content for free. Golden Rule..

As a side note, I think Sage will have to air it our , since the ground game will be non existant this weekend. I think enough teams have given a nice blue print for how to air it our against the Ravens. As a side note though you need to balance these projections based on your own leagues scoring, this can make a big differance. Hince the BEJ Custom Rankings , Priceless.

You take that 27 bones your missing seriously don't you? Take 2 xanex and call me in the morning

Rosenfels will not have to worry about facing DB Chris McCallister or S Dawan Landry, whose seasons, the Ravens announced Friday, are likely over due to injuries. Additionally, DB Samari Rolle is listed as questionable (neck) after practicing on a limited basis this week.

Or it could be that the guy is new here and is breaking one of the few 'rules' around here and is trying to keep him from getting in trouble? I think he gave a great response, imo. :goodposting:

Not entirely true.It is frowned upon to post a whole LOT of specific rankings on the MB. In fact, we encourage our paid content subscribers to question our specific rankings here. Here, this is the outer boundary - he mentioned Andre 1 and Fitz 3 and Boldin 4. That's about the extent of specific rankings we'd like to see, but since these are top-10 players, we are not as concerned. If you excerpt entire portions of the paid content, we will get upset.

Would you get upset if I then cited #2, #5, and #6 and had someone else round out the top 10? :football:

:football:I might not -- but, Joe, David, Carlton, or one of the mods might take quick and retributive action.
