I love stupid comments like these. Yes, this was definitive proof that ADP is injury prone. Most other running backs would have just popped right up from a direct shot to the knee. All owners, move him to the waiver wire, he isn't worth the roster spot.
a: I didnt say any of that.b: Calm down mr. Defensive. Hopefully he will be fine.c: Frank Gore has a less injury-riddled past. Look how that turned out.
AD pales in comparison to Frank Gore when it comes to injuries. So far AD's injuries have not included multiple blown knees like Gore. Hopefully he avoided a torn up knee today. We'll find out after the MRI on Monday. The bottom line is that all NFL RB's are injury prone. Every single one. Over half the starting RB's in the league have suffered one or more serious injuries at some point in their college or pro career.

For Adrian Peterson, Glazer on Fox just said "it doesn't look like an ACL, but there could be ligament damage." Seems highly speculative at this point.

Crippler, your comment did leave you open to a shot. Yes, ADP has had injuries in the past but the guy was leading the league in rushing. It's not "2 great games and half a season". In fact, if anything, I think we all should be amazed at how he put up those yards with so few touches. This is per Rotoworld:Adrian Peterson left Sunday's game in the third quarter with a knee injury and did not return.Peterson made a nice gain on a screen pass, but took a hit to the leg at the end of the play and stayed down for several minutes. He eventually limped off the field with the help of trainers and, after being looked at by the training staff, began jogging on the sidelines. Peterson looked capable of potentially returning to the game, but it was a non-issue with the Vikings getting blown out. He rushed for 45 yards on 11 carries before leaving.
Thanks for getting this back on track. And coyote is gone for a while. We're not going to be calling people's comments out as stupid. Especially when it's something like Peterson's injury history which is a huge concern. There's a reason he slid has far as he did in the draft. On the upside, fingers crossed in a big way the injury isn't serious. J
Well, in Coyote's defense it is irritating when someone who missed out on a player like ADP comes in and starts crowing when the guy goes down. He'll deny it, but it's exactly what he was doing. And of course, no, nobody has forgotten that ADP has had injuries.
#1. That's why we don't bring personal teams into the Shark Pool.#2. I didn't see any "crowing" whatsoever. I saw a post that said,
Didn't look good. How quickly people forget the injury history after 2 great games and half a season.
His statement was 100% accurate. I have been amazed at the people this week appointing him the greatest RB of all time when he's yet to show he can stay healthy consistently. Whether his supporters will admit it or not (and I LOVE this kid) this is HUGE concern for Adrian Peterson. J

I see where both groups are going with this.ADP does have an injury history.ADP's previous injury history didn't cause a blow to his knee that resulted in his injury and more than likely would have caused the same damage to any RB that had the same collision. That's my take but it leaves the door wide open for a discussion about running styles that welcome injury.

Don't disagree bja. And that's probably a discussion worth keeping up (or continuing to) in another thread. I apologize for the tangent there. Let's get back to injury info here. My bad.J

Seriously Joe how is it HIS fault? Al Harris made the most pansy tackle I've seen in a while...not that I blame him...I wouldn't want to tackle ADP normally either.Shoulder his freshman year and he played through it....NOT his fault.

High Ankle sprain Sophmore year...NOT his fault.

Victory dive in the endzone his Junior year and he broke his collarbone...THAT was his fault, but what a fluke injury.

"Sprained Knee" today...NOT his fault.

These are all common injuries to ANY RB at ANY level yet the concensus is ADP is injury prone. These same things could happen to ANY player at ANY level.

I can tell you that ADP would have come back into today's game if it was up to him despite it being a blowout. He also would have played with that high ankle sprain as he said in numerous interviews during his Sophmore season, he played in the bowl game his Junior Year even though he didn't have to, and he played through injury his freshman year as well. My gut tells me that barring a Ronnie Brown type MRI result he'll be suiting up next week even if he is not 100% AND he'll still produce at a RB1 level. He would have posted nice stats today in slop time if the Minny coaches didn't hold him out with the injury.

He didn't break his leg like Micheal Bush.

He doesn't have rebuit knees like Gore.

He's simply had bad luck with minor injuries that any other RB has the same risk of getting. The shoulder injury was the only one that can be attributed to his upright/punishing running style and even then he played though it.

Let's just all wait and see how this pans out tomorrow with the MRI and afterwards we can label him Adrian "Dainty" Peterson if need be.

Exactly my point. All part of football. The only fluke was the collarbone but the rest are just part of playing the game. The guy simply has bad luck.

He is NOT injury prone. He's probably one of the best conditioned guys in the NFL. He's in super-good shape and that only helps him to NOT be injury prone.

I hope he's allright. He's the basket I put all my eggs in.Anyhow, was it the R or L knee? I only saw the replay once. It looked like Harris hit his left knee from the "outside", but I've heard the staff was looking at his right knee, which would mean Harris went past his L and hit it from the "inside", which, with my bum knees as the only source I have, seems better.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program...........

Kurt Warner-QB- Cardinals Nov. 11 - 9:12 pm et

Kurt Warner suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb Sunday.

Warner wasn't completely removed from the game, but did lose snaps to Tim Rattay on the goal line, and ultimately had a touchdown pass "vultured" by him on a second-and-goal play. Unless Warner's thumb heals during the week, the Cardinals could continue to use Rattay in certain situations going forward. Warner is having trouble handing off and gripping the ball.

Why the injuries occur really does not matter. If any player gets injuried frequently, or has a past history of injuries, they will be labeled injury prone. And being well conditioned means nothing as well. You can be the most well conditioned athlete in the world, if you regularly get injuried, your injury prone. I'm not saying ADP is injury prone, I'm just saying your logic for saying he isn't is really flawed.

Marshawn Lynch-RB- Bills Nov. 11 - 10:20 pm et

Bills coach **** Jauron is hopeful that Marshawn Lynch did not suffer a serious ankle injury in Week 10.

Lynch was injured late in the fourth quarter as he helped the Bills get in position for the game-winning field goal. He will likely miss some practice time this week to rest the ankle as the Bills gear up for the Patriots in Week 11.

Doesn't matter how conditioned you are if you are a tall RB, you are going to take a lot of bad hits like he did today. That's why I don't like tall 6'0+ RB's. They just don't last. In the past 15 years, all the best long term RB's are 5'9" to 5'-11". Sanders, Emmitt, Tomlinson, Martin, etc. Payton back even further.

Like Eric Dickerson? There's always samples for both sides of this argument. It's not that I disagree with the likelihood of taller RBs getting hurt more often than compact backs, but I think the point is that *ANY* back can get hurt on a play that results in an ugly tackle, getting rolled up on, bent back, hit from the side or helmet to the knee.. regardless of their size or height.

I'm all for the "be excellent to each other" policy, but crippler's comment was annoying and premature. No need for a banning for anybody, IMO. Jumping the gun there, methinks. :blackdot: (unless there is a history)
Thanks, and no, there wasn't. :banned:
