Alright, let’s run thru the top30 or so RB…I am going to go off of the ytd stats from FBG. We can blow thru several very quickly, and focus on match ups more for the RBs in the 15-30 rank.
Atlanta at Baltimore
W.Dunn: Obviously this will not be an easy match up for the Falcons on the road. I wouldn’t bench Dunn unless you have 2 good match ups ahead of him on your roster. Dunn was not really supposed to come out of the box hot this season but he did very well against both Carolina and Tampa Bay early in the season.
Jeriuos Norwood: Has been hampered by injuries recently…bench him…however if the Falocns lose another game or two he might be a nice play if Mora starts thinking about next season while we are in the FF playoff run…but for now just bench him.
Jamal Lewis: Has showed some life the past few games with Brian Billick making the calls. Atlanta has some injuries on their defense including the DLine and that will make a difference in this game. Lewis has a decent shot at 100 yards this week.
Buffalo at Houston
Anthony Thomas: Mcgahee is OUT, Thomas makes a decent RB2 or RB3 start this week. Houston is not that good at stopping the run. Look for the Bills to lean on Thomas a lot on Sunday.
Wali Lundy: I like him to do well this week at home. He had a couple of pretty good games and then he faced better defenses. Buffalo is very up and down on offense. I look for Lundy to possibly explode this weekend. 100+ yds combined and perhaps a TD as well. In PPR leagues, he will show up big on Sunday too.
Chicago at New York Jets
Thomas Jones: For owners that have held on to Jones, you may be in for a pleasant surprise down the stretch. Grossman can throw the long ball but he is almost a liability to a team that feels they can make a SB run this year. I look for the ground game to start rearing its head and this week against the Jets on the road is as good as any to start. Look for the bears OL to maul the Jets on Sunday and bludgeon the defense for tough yards on the ground. Jones should make a run at 100+ yds and a TD or two in one of his best games to date.
Leon Washington: Not so much this week.
Kevan Barlow: I have talked about the bears and their defense and how they can be run on…this week the Jets will not find much room to run. I have liked the other RBs a lot more that have been gashing the Bears’ run defense…don’t look for it to happen on Sunday.
Cincinnati at New Orleans
Rudi Johnson: NO cannot stop the run very well. FWP had 200+ on the ground last week. This is a must start for Rudi owners.
Deuce McAllister: It is a good match up on paper but I want to talk more about the RB2 on this team. Deuce will do OK on Sunday and will be a decent RB2.
Reggie Bush: Big day on Sunday. Big Day. Not sure exactly what his final number will be but I expect him to break a big one in this game. He has had plenty of time to adjust to the NFL…time to start racking up yards.
Minnesota at Miami
Chester Taylor: Will get his yards in little bits. Will see plenty of touches but Miami is on a roll with back to back wins. They bottled up LJ last week, I expect them to give Taylor one of his lower totals on Sunday.
Ronnie Brown: Start him as he is really starting to come around for owners. 127/TD, 120, 190, 86/TD…those are the yardage and TD totals the pas 4 weeks…good stuff.
New England at Green Bay
Corey Dillon: I expect him to score on Sunday. The Pats are in the midst of a 2 game losing streak…that has not happened in a long long time…look for the ground game to get a workout on Sunday. The Packers are worse against the pass but NE needs to get its confidence back. I look for Dillon to have a solid game.
Laurence Maroney: Big disappointment the past several weeks. Bench him till he proves he can get it done on less touches.
Ahman Green: Average day form Green on Sunday. 118/TD, 106/2TDs, 122, and then last week he had 55 yds but 22 carries…he is avg right around 20 carries over the past 4 weeks. He is a viable weekly RB2 right now. NE will not be easy however.
Oakland at Kansas City
LaMont Jordan: No way…if he is your best option, you likely are out of the playoff chase.
Larry Johnson: Bad week against Miami but he still managed 75 and a score. Play him Play him Play him again and again and again.
Pittsburgh at Cleveland
FWP: What a run the past 2 weeks…unreal. No reason to think he will stop now. Good match up as well.
Droughns: Might be out this weekend…and quite frankly I don’t think it matters who will run for Cleveland on Sunday…nothing to see here.
St Louis at Carolina
Steve Jackson: 450+ receiving to go with his 750+ on the ground. Owners love what they have gotten this year from SJax…not an easy match up for him this weekend but I expect him to see a lot of touches on Sunday…of course he will.
DeShaun Foster: Bbbrrrrrrr!!! Fosterland is ice cold right now. Has had so many good match ups and done nothing. This again is a good match up for Foster but you are really walking a line with him.
DeAngelo Williams: Did nothing to unseat Foster on MNF.
Tennessee at Philadelphia
Travis Henry: Viable RB2 material right now. Nothing in the receiving dept but he has a chance to grind out 100 yds. Philly’s “D” ain’t that great.
Brian Westbrook: Let’s look at the injury report…yep he practiced…guess we better start him.
Washington at Tampa Bay
Clinton Portis: Out for the season on IR…sorry.
Ladell Betts: I am going to say that because the bucs defense will confuse the young Jason Campbell under center…I am going to guess that Betts has a rough day on Sunday. This is not what Portis owners want to here that are playing Betts but I think it is likely the case. The Bucs are on a short week after the MNF 2nd half collapse but they should be able to figure out the Skins boring offense.
“Cadillac”: More of a Pinto this season. You can start him whenever you want but he has not scored more than 12 points in a game this season…and only 3 games of 10+…he is a bust for sure.
Detroit at Arizona
Kevin Jones: Big day on Sunday.
Edge: Might have a decent game as Detroit is missing Shaun Rogers at NT and have been gashed by the run the past 2-3 weeks. If you have him, you need to look at starting him this week.
Seattle at San Francisco
Shaun Alexander: Practiced and set to play. If you are still in the hunt after drafting this guy, consider yourself lucky and maybe set to make a run down the stretch.
MoMo: Back to the bench.
Frank Gore: Absolutely keep playing this guy. The Seahawks are getting Shaun and Matt Hasselbeck back but their defense has been pretty iffy this season. Gore cannot be benched purely based on match up at this point.
Indianapolis at Dallas
Joseph Addai/Rhodes: Bad match up. Dallas has a pretty good run defense and even with Greg Ellis going out for the season, look for Dallas to keep up the pressure against the run.
Julius Jones: Start him. Indy has not proven they can stop the run.
Marion Barber III: This will not be a blowout so I don’t think he will get much mop up time however…Parcells best chance to win this game is to run the ball about 40 times…look for barber to be involved in the run game. In flex leagues you play him all the time.
San Diego at Denver
LaDainian Tomlinson: Oh please!!!
Tatum Bell: Merriman and others for the Chargers are out. They gave up 41 last week, look for Denver to get back on track running the football. I think it’s a good match up for Bell on Sunday Night.
NY Gaints at Jacksonville
Tiki Barber: Absolutely start him.
Brandon Jacobs: Scores all the short TD but he is a big gamble to wheel out as a starter every week.
Fred Taylor: Not the easiest match up but he should be a decent RB2 this week.
Maurice Jones Drew: Just like MBIII, MJD is a start in all flex leagues.
Good luck this weekend boys and girls.
