Week 12 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Full PPR

TE
Kraft vs 49ers
LaPorta @ IND (FWIW I also own and will be starting Monty)

Flex
Waddle vs Pats
Warren @ CLE
Pierce vs DET

Could also get crazy and flex the TE I don't start in my TE spot.
Well they both have a floor of zero so... I guess I go with LaPorta under the assumption the Lions will score more points so he will have more opps to score a TD.

Waddle will eventually have a big game but how many will he cost you chasing that? I think he has the highest ceiling of the bunch so if that is important you should consider him.

Otherwise I am an unabashed fan of Warren. He just had 13 opportunities (four targets) in a tight game with Baltimore and I expect that share of opportunities to continue on the short week. He also has big play upside.

Pierce is all about the big play and Richardson isn't shy about putting up deep balls but, I can't trust AR at QB and I hate relying on big plays to salvage days. Unlike Waddle I don't think Pierce has 8-10 target upside. Waddle hasn't had that this year either but this offense is starting to roll a little bit and I think we are seeing them start to round into 2023 form.

Warren>Waddle>Pierce

Warren was scooped up off waivers by the guy with priorty right in front of me.

I just traded Shakir for Downs straight up. I actually have never started Shakir once this year with London, Lamb and Smith as my top 3 options. So this is more a fill in this week since Shakir is also on bye. Hell, Downs is outscoring Smith so he could be my WR3 going forward even.

Downs > Waddle no brainer right?
Agree. Bottom line is Downs plays well with AR and that game is far more likely to put pressure on the Colts to keep up that the Pats will on the Dolphins. ON PAPER.

What is funny is if you check Waddles history against the Pats, he has scored a TD every game against them at home going back to 2021. Watch him get one on my bench this week LOL.
Like I said in my first post, you know he is going to have a big game at some point. This certainly could be the week with a lesser opponent and the offense starting to hit it's stride. I do think he has a lot of upside. If you were still dealing with Pierce as your only option I would definitely go with Waddle. But Downs has been pretty darn good this year. Since he came back in week three he has had two down games and one of those was his first game back. He's been good enough that I wouldn't regret starting him over Waddle even if this is Waddle's breakout game.
True. Also I trust DET to put up more points than NE, forcing IND to throw more. Fins will score but Waddle is at this point 3rd fiddle to Achane and Hill. Could even argue their TE is now 3rd fiddle making Waddle 4th. Downs is the top priorty in the IND passing game.

I'll start.

PPR I need a RB2:
Jonathan Taylor v DET (#6 v RBs)
David Montgomery @ IND (#21)

I'm pretty locked in on Montgomery here.
This is pretty much a coin flip to me; Monty is probably a better bet for a TD, and Taylor is a better bet for yards/volume. I'd lean Taylor myself but its 51-49.
PPR I need a flex play:

Jonathan Taylor v DET (#6 v RBs)
DeAndre Hopkins @ CAR (#13 v WRs)
Jayden Reed v SF (#11)
Malik Nabers v TB (#29)
Terry McLaurin v DAL (#15)
Fully a hunch here, but I get the feeling Malik Nabers is gonna be a top-5 WR this week. I think he gets peppered with targets against a bad pass defense and a team that maybe has a 1 week boost from benching Jones.
Due to a combo platter of byes, I lose Hall and Chase this week. Therefore, I only have one dilemma. I know DEF questions are hated but

Steelers @ Browns
or
Lions @ Colts

Both pretty good matchups. I lean Steelers only because Lions lost Anzalone through injury and ARich is back to running in the tds. Plus Jameis likes to sling it and turn it over.
I'd go Steelers here. Better defense, and better matchup. Also weather sounds like it could be a major issue in that game, and Browns are down to their #3 LT now.
14 team Dynasty ... Standard Scoring .. 6 pts all TDs - (5-6 currently and playing the 6-5 team this week who is currently in the last playoff spot)

Pick 1 QB:
Mahomes @ Carolina
Daniels vs Dallas

Pick 2 Flex (CMC and Barkley are locked in):
JTaylor vs Det
JJacobs vs SF
ARSB @ Ind
NCollins vs TN
Tyreek Hill vs NE

Thanks.
This could be a slump busting stars align type game for Daniels. I like him over Mahomes most weeks.

I think Amon-Ra deserves the same locked in treatment CMC and Barkley do. I'd go Nico in the other spot.
Super flex
Gotta go with Caleb vs Vikings over Winston vs the Steelers. Right? :oldunsure:
Yeah, I would. Hopefully this rushing is here to stay for Caleb.
Full PPR

TE
Kraft vs 49ers
LaPorta @ IND (FWIW I also own and will be starting Monty)

Flex
Waddle vs Pats
Warren @ CLE
Pierce vs DET

Could also get crazy and flex the TE I don't start in my TE spot.
I'd actually go 2 TEs. LaPorta>Kraft. If the 2 TE thing scares too much, I guess I like Warren the most of the rest, in what should be a pretty run heavy game plan.
Warren or E Moore at flex in 0.5 ppr

Jonnu, Hock, or Dissley at TE
I'd go Warren over Moore. As lame a reason as it sounds, he's not the one playing the against the Steelers.

Despite the down week last week, I think I'd go back to the Hockenson well this week.
0.5 PPR

Pick 2:
Devonta Smith at Rams
Josh Downs vs Lions
Chuba Hubbard vs Chiefs
Jauan Jennings at Packers
Jennings and Hubbard would be my picks. Just better volume for both. I need to see Brooks take a share before I start thinking about sitting Hubbard. Riding Jennings while he's hot.
FFPC scoring:
Need a final flex:

R.Doubbs vs SF
Q.Johnston vs BALT
I think rolling with Johnston against maybe the AFCs worst pass defense is where I'd go.
1 pt every 25 yds passing/1 pt every 3 completions/4 pt passing TD's/6 pt rushing TD's/5 pt bonus for 300 yds passing
Mayfield @ Giants
Nix @ Raiders
TIA
While I like Mayfield more overall, I think the matchup makes me favor Nix. Raiders can't stop anything.
1 pt/25yds passing, 1 pt/10 yds rushing. All TDs 6 pts.

Kyler Murray @ Seattle
Bo Nix @ Las Vegas

Thanks
This is a spot where I would sit Nix though. Arizona/Seattle feels like a shootout.
PPR league. Redraft. Curious who is the best RB bench stash?

* T. Spears -- Great schedule down the stretch, but he's in concussion protocol.

* R. Mostert -- Lot of talk J. Wright has taken over #2. Find that hard to believe. May have a hip injury.

* C. Akers -- Two consecutive games with 10+ touches. A. Jones not always a picture of health.

Which?

Thanks
As long as you don't need to start any of these guys unless the guy in front of them gets hurt, I'd lean Akers, just from liekly having the biggest workload in a best-case scenario.
Here's two:
FFPC scoring:

TEAM A:
J.Goff @ IND
B.Nix @ LAV

TEAM B:
J.Goff @ IND
K.Murray @ SEA
I'm gonna pick against Goff both times here. I just feel the other guys have better ceilings due to their rushing and matchups.
Standard:

X Worthy @ CAR
Waddle v NE

Thx
I'm gonna hold my nose and say Waddle. He feels due. Worthy was better last week, but I feel like Kelce/Hopkins are gonna be better this week.
.5 PPR

Jeudy vs PITT
Moore vs Minn.
Meyers vs DEN
Despite likely seeing a fair amount of Surtain, I'd lean Meyers. Had 6-72 against them earlier this season. Also is indoors.
Chuba Hubbard vs KC
JTaylor vs Det
While he's certainly coming off a down week, I'm not sitting Taylor for Hubbard, when Hubbard's matchup is arguably worse.

PPR, special scoring for TEs (7 pts for TDs, bonus at 7 catches and for long TDs).

Njoku v. PIT (sore knee and weather conditions?)
Jonnu Smith v. NE (former team)
Thanks

I guess I would go with Jonnu mostly because of the matchup. I hate chasing points, particularly at that position but I think that's where I would go.

I have only two:

Daniels vs Dallas or Murray vs Seattle.

I've been leaning Murray, but like every single damn time I play him he tanks and JD goes off. I think Seattle's D in Seattle this week might not get him over 15 pts. Dallas is a BIG game for Washington and he's one more week removed from the rib injury....just getting tired of him handing off the TD's to the backs every week

Downs vs Lions or Warren vs Cle.

It's more Downs for me, but Warren and this match-up might be a solid floor.

Both are great options, but lean to the division rivalry on a short week. Winston is good for a INT and the Browns can’t run.

Super flex
Gotta go with Caleb vs Vikings over Winston vs the Steelers. Right? :oldunsure:
Yes and for this reason - big winds in Cleveland tomorrow. Winston’s passing yards total is only 214. I don’t like Caleb much I this week, but wind is a bad thing for qbs.

Waddle vs Pats

You may have to play Kraft, LaPorta is hurt. Since they are playing on thanksgiving, they may hold him out.

Small lean to Pierce in the flex.

small lean to Akers for the same reason you gave.

Caleb Williams vs Minn
Purdy at GB
AR vs Detroit

Probably need some upside, leaning AR as I can see a lot of garbage stats. Detroit has struggled vs rushing qbs in the past. Purdy’s shoulder is a concern, may lean on CMC more. Caleb hasn’t faced the Flores D before.

Logical thinking here?

I like to think that Washington will control the game against Dallas. I think they have a decent chance at putting up 30 points, I am not sure I can say the same about Arizona. I agree the Commanders will run for TDs given the opportunity and Daniels will probably not be getting goal line looks. Murray is a solid start any week, he really isn't a goal line option for the Cardinals either.

It's a tight call, ATM I may go with Daniels because of the matchup but tomorrow I will probably waffle back to Murray.

For part two I'm team Downs here. He's been great this year, only one down game really (I forgive his first game back from injury against the Bears) and you have to think the Lions will pressure the Colts offense to keep up.

I would probably go with AR as well. I have to imagine the Colts will need to put up a lot of points to keep up. Whether or not they're successful is a different question but they should have to.

Super flex

Thanks for the insight on the wind in Cleveland. Good to know.
From weather.com for game time -

Periods of rain. Becoming windy late. Low 38F. Winds WNW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch. Higher wind gusts possible.

PPR :

Tillman vs Pitt
Tank Dell vs Ten
Waddle vs NE?
I think Dell represents the right middle ground of matchup vs opportunity. I don't like starting players against that PIT defenses and I am not sure I can trust Waddle.

IMO Waddle is the upside play and Tank is the "should" play.

David Njoku vs Steelers or Will Dissly vs Ravens?
I think Njoku is the better player but I hate Thursday night games.

There will be weather issues, but TE’s are somewhat safer plays. I like Njoku as he’s a big part of the Browns offense.

PPR :
Cade Otton vs Giants
H Henry vs Mia?
Henry is having a great season since Maye took over. Otton was great with Evans and Godwin out but he was pretty good the four games preceding that. With Evans back he may still be an 8+ target guy but it's less certain. Still, another great matchup.

This is really an issue of two very good options. I think I lean Otton against that soft Giants team that is apparently not happy Frank Reynolds is starting at QB.

David Njoku vs Steelers or Will Dissly vs Ravens?
I think Njoku is the better player but I hate Thursday night games.
Njoku is the better player but he has a very tough matchup. Dissly probably couldn't have a better matchup with a poor pass defense, possibly down Roquan Smith, and an offense that can put pressure on opponents to score.

Njoku should see 8+ target though and that is probably the smart play. Dissly might see four targets and, remember, last week was his first TD on the season.

Probably Njoku.

0.5 PPR, need help with my flex:
  • Pacheco vs. Panthers (If he is activated)
  • Meyers vs. Broncos
  • Quentin Johnston vs. Ravens
I'm not counting on Pacheco seeing much action even if he is active. I can't see them risk him in a game they should control start to finish.

I like Quentin Johnston with the hot hand in a great matchup.

FFPC scoring, I need a flex:

Tillman vs PIT - Solid defense but Winston doesn’t care
Ekeler vs DAL - still seeing plenty of snaps

Thoughts?

This isnt an optimal week for Tillman. Normally I'd pick him in my lineup but I'd go with Ekeler this week. Matchup, weather, etc.

.5 PPR, I need to choose 3 from:

George Pickens @ Cleveland
DK Metcalf vs Arizona
Terry McLaurin vs Dallas
Jonathan Taylor vs Detroit

also available (but harder to play over the above):
Ekeler vs Dallas
Jameson Williams vs Indianapolis

After seeing the weather report from Cleveland I'd bench Pickens for sure.

.5 ppr
Otton @ NYG
Dissly vs Bal
I think Otton pretty easily. Even with Evans back he'll see more targets than Dissly who scored his first TD of the season on a broken play by the defense that got the Cincinnati corner benched for the second time this season.

Chubb could be getting a lot of work tonight based on the weather forecast. I have him too and I'm debating putting him in as a bye-week fill-in

Need a RB in half PPR.

Chubb vs PIT
Abdullah vs DEN
Roschon Johnson vs MIN

Thanks!
Ugh. Chubb is my impulse despite everything. The weather looks to be ugly in Pittsburgh which will depress passing, and allow the defense to key more on the run sadly, so maybe more carries.

Abdullah will get, maybe five touches so he's out IMO.

Roschon has a solid matchup and may see ten touches but he could also see five. Monitor Swift's status today, if he's DNP then you might want to risk it with Roschon in a good matchup.

Abdullah will get, maybe five touches so he's out IMO.

FYI (Wed report)

Alexander MattisonRBAnkleDNP
Zamir WhiteRBQuadricepDNP

AA probably has a 25% chance of scoring a TD. I don’t think they’re ready to give Laube the full load but a Raiders fan would know better.
Is put his chances of a TD closer to 6-10%

well he’s scored in 2 TDs in 10 games while barely seeing any snaps

but you’re probably right
