Week 12 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) Please post the matchup. e.g. Penix vs Den or James Cook @ Mia (a lot of you are missing this one. We don't necessarily have all the matchups memorized, please don't make us do your legwork. TIA)

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

5) NEW REQUEST: Please remember that if you come here asking advice, it is greatly appreciated if you offer advice to others. TIA

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

(Joe Edit: When you ask, please let us know which way you're leaning. And more importantly, why. What do you see as the pros and cons. Most people will be much more likely to help if they feel like you've put in a little work on this as well.)

Let's move on to week 12

@Joe Bryant @FBG Moderator

Can we get this pinned please?

I'll start. Need a defense this week.

ATL @ NO
SEA @ TEN
CLE @ LVR
LVR v CLE

Leaning Seattle. Strong D, great matchup, must win, rebound game.

The London injury has killed me. I need a FLEX, 0.5 PPR:
  • J Jennings vs. Panthers
  • Charbonnet vs. Titans
Yeah, I see the problem. My impulse is Jennings because the Niners are just a much better offense with Purdy. Jennings also was tied with Kittle for the team lead in targets. Problem is, if the Niners roll the Panthers (such a weird team to predict), it won't be a high volume passing day.

Charbonnet has a nice opportunity against an opponent the Seahawks should handle easily. Decent TD opportunity IMO.

It's close but, if you're willing to bank on the blowout

Charbs>Jennings

PPR Flex:

C.Watson v MIN
Monangai v PIT

Leaning Watson. He just looks like the Packers best WR and, even if they don't feed him he still makes plays. PIT is also stronger against the run than the pass and I'm already starting Swift.

PPR TE:
Schultz v BUF
Pitts @ NO

Schultz seems like the easy start IMO but, some see the loss of London as a great opportunity for Pitts. Cousins started week 7 at Miami with London out and Pitts saw 9 targets.

PPR Flex:

C.Watson v MIN
Monangai v PIT

Schultz v BUF

Flex..Watson over Monangai for me this week...in ppr I have him quite a bit higher

TE: Can make a solid argument for both of them..I have pretty close...Schultz is my #7 TE this week and Pitts is #10....so I gues a slight edge to Schultz

First one:
FFPC scoring:
Need TWO flex plays:

X. Worthy vs Ind

D. Mooney @ NO

W. Robinson @ Det

C. Watson vs Minn
I think Watson is on a mini heater ATM. I hate that he is so low volume but, he just looks so much better than the other options in Green Bay. Of your options he seems the most likely to house one.

After that, good luck. I probably lean Wan'Dale for the volume.

Mooney has been dropping everything, even with London out there is no guarantee he will be anything this week. When London & Penix were out at Miami Mooney had four targets for 1-11-0

Worthy will eventually have a monster game (I think) but, I'm tired of trying to predict when that will happen. He is probably good for 6 targets and, with Sauce presumably spending his time on Rashee maybe Worthy can put something together this week but, no idea if he will.

Watson>Wan'Dale>Worthy>Mooney

My dilemma...need to start 2 of these 4 RBs. PPR - bonus for long TDs

Spears vs. Sea
Jeanty vs. CLE
Monangi vs. Pitt
Allgier @ NO
I think you have to go with Jeanty. Last weeks usage was an aberration. The Raiders thought they could establish the pass to set up the run but, they just suck regardless. It's not a ringing endorsement for Jeanty this week but, he's your only option that has a realistic chance at 20 touches.

Pass on Spears. That offense is just bad and his volume is also bad.

Between Monangai and Allgeier I think you start the guy on the team you think is going to win... I think that's probably the Bears if Rodgers is out.

Jeanty>Monangai>Allgeier>Spears

I'll start. Need a defense this week.

ATL @ NO
SEA @ TEN
CLE @ LVR
LVR v CLE

Leaning Seattle. Strong D, great matchup, must win, rebound game.
I'd go SEA. Great D, great matchup.

ATL...forget it. That team is toast.

CLE should do fine, but with Sanders now announced as starter that offense could put the defense in difficult situations.

LV SHOULD be a slam dunk against Sanders, but I don't trust that entire team.

QB:

Caleb v PIT
Darnold @ TEN

Leaning Caleb. The PIT D is much better v the run than the pass and, Seattle should roll TEN so, maybe another hyper efficient but, low volume game from Darnold.
I think I'd go Darnold. Think he'll want to get right this week.

Caleb just seems too inconsistent and I could see Tomlin taking the air out of the ball with a sloooow paced effort.

PPR League. Want to get this one in since Nico Collins plays tmrw.

Basically the question is, should a sit Nico tmrw?

I have to start two WRs and also need a flex. I have these 4 WRs:

* N. Collins vs BUFF -- Not a great matchup, but it's at home, and Mills has eyes for Nico.

* T. Higgins vs NE -- Can't imagine sitting him with Chase out.

* G. Pickens vs PHI -- Tough matchup against a PHI D that seems to be coming on, but it's hard to sit this guy right now as well.

* T. McMillan @SF -- A good matchup against a banged up SF D.

One of these guys has to sit.

Now this is a superflex league. What I could do is this:

1) Start Nico tmrw. See where that lands. Then...

2) ...Decide who to sit among the above three WRs vs. Sam Darnold in the superflex spot.

Sit Collins? Or roll with him and then decide on benching a WR vs. Darnold later?

Thanks

PPR League. Need to sit one of these four in a two flex league:

* D. Schultz vs BUF -- Have been riding him in the flex with great results. However, BUF D is #1 when it comes to points against TEs. Tough matchup.

* P. Washington @AZ -- This one could be a sneaky high scorer. Laid an egg last week. Meyers coming on. No word on BTJ. His underlying metrics last week were still solid though.

* I. Iosivas vs NE -- Chase out. He could see targets, maybe a lot of em, if NE starts getting up big. Could see Gonzo on Higgins too.

* T. Pollard vs SEA -- Terrible matchup against a SEA D coming off a tough loss. Not a ton of upside here. Maybe he falls into the endzone.

Who gets benched?

As an aside, this is really a "Should I Bench D. Schultz?" question in disguise since HOU plays tmrw night.

Thanks!

.5 PPR

Usual dilemma, which I've been getting wrong every week:

Swift vs Pit
D Adams vs TB
N Collins vs Buf
K Williams vs TB

Need to sit 1

I play Collins. He's getting too many targets from Mills to ignore.

I also can't see benching Pickens for Tet, maybe Higgins too if Ja'Marr were playing. The Cowboys have the best offense and QB of your options, how do you not ride the hot hand?

I'm always starting the QB in SF format and, Darnold has been as efficient as anyone. Even in a game the Seahawks should win easily, I think Darnold could still have a very good game on potential low volume.

Between sitting Higgins or Tet? I think last week was a mirage from Bryce and he won't come close to repeating at San Francisco, even if Brissett put up 450+ on them last week. I would expect closer to a 6-70-0 stat line from Tet over another big game.

Higgins has the tougher matchup but, Flacco seems to know how to find him in the end zone and the Bengals offense has more than enough at the skill positions, even without Ja'Marr to move the ball. I expect a high volume day from Higgins with a better chance for a TD than Tet.

Darnold>Collins>Higgins>Pickens>Tet

I think you could bench any one of Washington, Iosivas and Pollard. I'm riding Schultz with Mills under center, the Houston offense has condensed into two passing options.

I probably sit Pollard here. Tough defensive matchup and, he simply hasn't done anything this season so far.

Missed out on Wilson. Assuming Jacibs doesn't play:

0.5 ppr
Tuten vs Ari (I also own ETN)
Bam vs Jax

Defense:
LV vs Cle
LAR vs TB
The Jaguars run defense has been consistently strong. Zonovan may be in line for a good amount of work but, I hate the matchup.

Tuten>Zonovan

The Bucs can score and move the ball against anyone. I hate relying on my pathetic Raiders but, if they're going to have a big game on defense, this is the week.

LV>LAR

QB:

Caleb v PIT
Darnold @ TEN

Leaning Caleb. The PIT D is much better v the run than the pass and, Seattle should roll TEN so, maybe another hyper efficient but, low volume game from Darnold.
I would go Caleb. Slightly higher floor with his rushing ability. Correct, I suspect that SEA will be ahead 21-0 or so at half and they step off the gas. CHI needs to keep winning.

Flacco v Pats
Rudolph @ Bears (if Rodgers out obviously)
Mills V Bills (hey it rhymes)

Not feeling great about this as Herbert and Nix sit on the beach

Need to decide on a RB2 (I have Gibbs as my RB1). Scoring is a little TD-heavy with an emphasis towards RB's...

.25 PPC (a point for every four carries)
0.6 PPR
0.6 pts for every 10 yards (100 yards = 6 pts)
TD - 6 pts

Kamara vs ATL
Marks vs BUF
Tracy @ DET

Marks may have the upside, but he's been up and down. Feel like, if there were ever a week to start Kamara, this might be it, no?

EDIT: I also have Gainwell @ CHI. If Warren were to not play, would Gainwell be the choice here? Obviously, with Marks playing tomorrow night, it's likely I won't know the status of Sunday players at that time.

Watson
Pitts - targets will be there and Bills are very tough against the pass

Flacco v Pats
Rudolph @ Bears (if Rodgers out obviously)
Mills V Bills (hey it rhymes)

Probably Flacco. The Pats lost Milton Williams which, may make it easier to run on them but, they're still the #1 run D in the league. Cincinnati will likely have to pass to move the ball.

Rudolph may be a decent option too but, being a road game and I think Warren being limited or out probably hurts the overall offense.

Teams don't pass on the Bills. #2 in pass attempts against and #2 in pass yards against. I like his top two receivers,.Nico and Schultz, in PPR format but, for overall QB stats he has the toughest job.

Flacco>Rudolph>Mills

PPR 1QB 2RB 1TE

Maye @CIN....will they have to throw?
Mayfield @ LAR

Warren @ CHI inj?
Rico @ SF
C Brown vs NE

T Warren @ KC
Ferguson vs PHI

This is all about risk aversion. Having Marks going tomorrow is a bit of a guy check even if it is a very good matchup...on paper. Also, if the Bills boat race the Texans he could get scripted out.

You're right about this being the week for Kamara. New Orleans still isn't a good team but, this is a favorable opportunity.

I can't go with Tracy. There is a chance that he gets game scripted out of the Lions come out angry and dominate. It also looks like he may get pulled at the GL for Singletary.

Gainwell also has a nice opportunity if Warren is out.

For me

Kamara>Marks>Gainwell>Tracy

Another one.... Pretty standard scoring except 6pts per TD (passing included).

Danny Jones @ KC
OR
Dak vs PHI
I'm going with Dak here. I know the Colts are 8-2 & the #1 offense in the NFL (like we all predicted in August). I know they are #3 in pass yards. But... will the Chiefs continue to fold? At home? In the most desperate regular season game they have faced in the Mahomes era? Or will they rally and put together a statement game? I may be living in the past but, I'm not betting against the Choefs. Also, the Colts offense runs through JT, non Jones.

The Eagles may have the best defensive front of the last decade, or more. The entire league took not of how they manhandled the Lions. They could absolutely do the same this week. But, the Cowboys probably have the top WR, WR, TE group in the league and, despite the nice season Javonte is having, this offense runs through Dak.

Dak>Jones

scoring is non-ppr

Need 2 from the following

KW3 @ titans
Judkins @ Vegas
Flowers vs Jets
Jamo vs Giants

Probably lean with the 2 RBs but Jamo has been on a tear
I think you have four good options, all of which could have a big game while maintaining safe floors.

I do like anyone against the Raiders and, I know the Browns are going to run on 90% of their plays to protect Shedeur. But, you have to think the Raiders defense is going to put 14 guys in the box and dare Shedeur to beat them. Judkins could still put up 100+ in that situation. The Raiders may have quit on Coach Pete.

I like Zay but, with Lamar dinged up and such an easily winnable game the Ravens may not throw even 20 passes this week.

Jamo is on a tear and, I'd be tempted to ride the hot hand too. And, I imagine the Lions are going to try and make a statement after last week's humiliation.

Tough choices in a good way

KWIII>Jamo>Judkins>Zay

PPR 1QB 2RB 1TE

Maye @CIN....will they have to throw?
Mayfield @ LAR

Warren @ CHI inj?
Rico @ SF
C Brown vs NE

T Warren @ KC
Ferguson vs PHI
QB vs the #2 scoring defense, or QB vs the #32 scoring defense?

Hmmmmmmm...

Maye>Mayfield
==========={={{{====

Brown is facing the top rush D in the league, they lost Milton Williams but, they'll still be great against the run.

Warren is dinged up at best.

Rico>C.Bown>Warren
======{{{{{{====={===

Coin toss at TE. Colts have a better OL IMO and, for me that's a deciding factor.

Warren>Ferguson

PPR Need one Flex:

Juwan Johnson vs Atl
Bam Night vs Jax
Godwin @ LAR
Kareem Hunt vs Ind
Andrei Losivas vs NE
Jacoby Meyers @Ariz
Boutte @ Cin

Thanks.

In PPR you have to look at Godwin and Jakobi IMO.

Godwin is just a target hog but, can he stay on the field. And, it's a tough matchup.

Meyers caught 5 of 6 targets in his first action with the Jags. I could easily see him becoming Lawrence's outlet/safety net.

Jakobi>Godwin>Flip a coin
