Week 13 waiver wire (1 Viewer)

This whole thing about coaches elevating a player to "see what they have" just seems off to me. They see these guys in practice every week, see them in games, review/critique game tape. They know what they have. I think coaches would prefer to win now rather than making moves designed to help them next year...especially since a lot of them are just trying to not get fired before next year.

My claims are:

1: David Johnson

2: Jay Ajayi

3: Alf Morris
I'm an Ajayi owner going on ~3 weeks now. I've actually got him as a potential drop simply because I've become deep at RB. That said, for re-draft leagues, I don't get the hype. He's done well with the touches he's had, but he just doesn't get touches. There's constant hype, talk of him getting more carries, etc., yet he still seems to just get a few touches here and there.

Can someone help me understand here?

I can keep one rookie so that basically sums up my interest in him. I also don't play a meaningful game for 2 more weeks and a lot can happen over that time.

Gronk owner. Never been so sad to be 11-1

Lol.

Julius Thomas or Chandler for me. And with $0 budget. Ugh
2 man league? Why is THOMAS available?
Thomas has been pretty pedestrian up to this week. I would think an owner would have been hard pressed to keep him on the roster throughout the season - he was a waiver add for most people...either last week or this week, but I would guess he wouldn't have been on too many rosters much before that.
JT might just be one of those guys a little slow to adjust to a new system. I have him at #1 this week, hoping Hurns sits out this week. After that the defenses get easier thru the playoff run.

like Rawls and Johnson he's one of the top handcuffs and can become an rb1 in the playoffs

Not sure if he was mentioned or not but another TE that has had one good game in the last three is Ryan Griffin, who just came off the short IR. I like the Vance McDonald call also but I thought Bell looked really good for SF also, I think they both would be considered "move" TE's. Which may take some looks away from Vance.

I think that this is generally true.

If available, Johnson is the number 1 add for me (even over the likes of Anderson)

I see Johnson as having the most potential to not being in a committee, as of now..

(and my leagues we get bonus for bigger plays, longer touchdowns etc)

PPR:

Johnson is the #1 guy by far. A RB1 the rest of the way IMO if Ellington's out. (Possible he's a RB1 anyway)

DeVante Parker. Lost Fins season. Matthews (upcoming FA) may be done for the year. Fins will try to run more. The Fins defense also has to stop someone for this to work.

Boom Herron: Gore's beat up and isn't producing lately as result. Boom's got fresh legs and could be PPR asset again. I wouldn't be surprised if it start as early as this week as don't figure Indy to stop Steelers O.

Chandler: Likely a TE1 as long as Gronk's out.

Ajayi is worth an add if he isn't already rostered.

If you're a Brady owner or just QB needy in general in a 1QB league, grab Stafford now. He's doing better since the bye and his playoff schedule looks great, 3 dome games against mediocre to terrible secondaries (weeks 14-16 @STL, @NO, v. SF). Plus he's probably was dropped in most leagues earlier this year so he'll either be an FA or cost very minimal to no FAAB bucks.

And I finally dropped G. Tate ...and may need to go back and get him because of that schedule --

Acquired Tate as almost a throw in a trade midseason around the time they fired coaches and he has been PPR gold. Ideal high floor WR3 in a PPR league. Admittedly the ceiling isn't there with only 2 TDs on the year, but as mentioned, those playoff matchups are very nice. I have moved to starting him over Diggs as Diggs has faded.

My claims this week in order (I only get 1) short bench league

RB

CJ Anderson

David Johnson

TE

Chandler

WR

Wheaton

Parker
Mind if I ask what your reasoning is for Anderson over Johnson? I'm in a similar situation myself.Anderson showed his upside last week, but it took overtime to get him 2014 kind of stats, and Hillman is still very much in the mix. I like Johnson's upside, and assuming Ellington is out this week (and possibly even longer, knowing his injury history), the starting role could be his the rest of the fantasy season.

I drafted Anderson this year but soured on him and dropped him back in October, inciting a certain amount of hesitation to pick him back up again on my part.
Can't answer for him but I'd take CJA at the top as well. For me, it's about the trend. He's getting increasing work and the new offense is favoring his style a bit more than Hillman. He's also healthy now.
1. Schedule DJ has 1 easy game, CJ has 3

David Johnson has

-STL

-MIN

-PHI

-GNB

-SEA (I play till week 17

CJ has

-SDG

-OAK

-PIT

-CIN

-SDG

2. Osweiler is playing from under center like Kubiak wanted from the started of the season, opens up for the scheme for the run to actually work like he intended. Wasn't working with Peyton in Pistol and Shotgun. I like CJ over DJ as long as Osweiler is QB

Ended up with CJ after all was said and done. Fingers crossed it pays off.
